A community is accustomed to following common social norms where the overall needs of life can be met. The basis of community is a place and communal consciousness and mentality. The goal of a community is that a person's entire life will be spent in a community. Villages, cities, races, tribes are one example of a community.

No matter where the members of a small or large group live, they can form a community only if they share the basic and common interests of life. The full social life of an individual is reflected within the community. Any community always occupies a certain geographical area.

There are also differences in the way people live because of the differences in the geographical environment. Living in a certain area for a long period creates a state of harmony in people's daily, mental behavior, and customs. Thus communities are formed through grouped people based on harmony.

Types of community

1. Location-based Communities: Local neighborhoods, suburban cities, villages, towns, or cities.

2. Identity-based Communities: Starting from local circles, subcultures, ethnic groups, religious, multicultural or plural civilizations,

3. Organizationally based Communities: More formally affiliated associations around family or network-based guilds and associations, ranging from informally organized communities within political or decision-making structures, economic enterprises, or professional organizations at a small, national or international level.

But I am choosing the location-based community, to describe our local community. Based on the location we can divide the community into three parts.

• Urban

• Suburban

• Rural

Urban: Usually we mean an urban, a large area, and where many people live. There will be high-rise houses and improved communication and transportation. The people of the urban always spend a busy time day and night.

Suburban: Suburban are smaller areas than urban, where fewer people live than in urban. It was not more dynamic than in urban. The height of the house is not too high. You can't see tall houses like the city here. Communication and transportation in the suburbs are quite good. But not as developed as the city.

Rural: There are far fewer people living here than in the city. The houses here are not like the city. The people here live a very simple life. Communication and transportation are not as developed as in the city.

Our local community :

A community has been defined as a group of interacting people living in o common location. The term is often used to refer to a group that is organized around common values ​​and is identified as social cohesion within a shared geographical location, usually in a larger social unit than a family.we live in a suburbs.

Our area is mix with urban and rural community.In our local community it not a big area also much population like the city. However, it is not as sparse as in rural areas. The height of the house is not too high. You can't see tall houses like the city here. Here you will find some city atmosphere. On the other hand, you will also find a rural environment.so now i gonna explain about our local community.

Population of our local community:

Exactly i cannot provide legal population information about our local community. Because it’s not a small areas. Also it’s so tough to collect actual data about population. However, it is not as populated as the city. Millions of people live here. I am not discussing a village to discuss the local community. I will try to discuss a specific geographical area.

Language :

I have discussed the local community but we have a single identity. That is Bengali. Most of the people in our country belong to this community. So it can be said in a normal way. We are all Bengali and our mother tongue is Bengali. Bengali is the common language in our country. We all speak this language. Bengali is the fifth most spoken native language  and the seventh most spoken language by total number of speakers in the world.

Food habits :

Nowadays, with the advancement of the internet, everyone is easily embracing different foreign cultures. Our eating habits have also changed. Nowadays people are making various foreign recipes. Somehow they have become their food habit.

However, the food that we have in our country is also very popular and common.Different types of meat, rice, pulses and fish are one of our traditional foods.We have a lot of fish here and rice is our main food. That is why there is a common saying, Bengali in fish rice. But we also like vegetables too.

Religion :

People of different religions have been living together peacefully here for hundreds of years. Some are Muslims, some are Hindus, some are Christians. But even though they belong to different religions, they have a different identity. That is, they are all Bengalis.

• Muslim : Most of the people in our country are Muslims. However, the number of people of other religions is not less.

• Hindu : There are a lot of people here. Those who follow Hinduism.

• Christian : The number of Christians here is not small.

• Others : Apart from Muslims, Hindus and Christians, people of different religions live here.

Natural beauty :

Although our country is a wonderful land of natural beauty. There is nothing like enjoying the natural beauty of our local area too much. There is a small river here. Where you can see the beautiful sunset scene from time to time. There are also fascinating evergreen crop fields. Several parks have been artificially created for recreation.

Clothing:

Each community has its own costume. Currently in contact with foreign cultures. There are many changes in our clothing. In the past, the main clothing of the people here was lungi, pants, shirt, sari blouse etc. But now, the boys are wearing jeans, shirts, three quarters. On the other hand, the girls are wearing lehenga, three piece etc.
