Anxiety is a fairly common mental disorder, where the person who suffers from it feels worry and / or fear in the face of stressful situations that happen in daily life.

Its most common symptoms are:

  • Feeling of nervousness, agitation or tension.

  • Feeling of imminent danger, panic or catastrophe.

  • Increased heart rate.

  • Accelerated breathing (hyperventilation)

  • Sweating.

  • Tremors.

  • Feeling of weakness or tiredness, among others.

When these symptoms occur, I suggest you do the following:

1. Breathe deep: Try to calm yourself, you can do repetitions of deep breathing, inhale through the nose, hold the breath for 7 seconds and exhale through the mouth; You will see how in a few minutes you relax.

2. Drink water: The mere act of drinking water helps us calm down, if it is to your liking you can add a little sugar.

3. Write about how you feel: When you feel anxious, it is relaxing to write what we think, how we feel, keeping a thought diary is a healthy and useful way to vent our daily problems and thus minimize our worries.

4. Listen to the music you like: Listening to your favorite songs makes you forget about all your problems, it transports you mentally to your favorite moments and the anxiety disappears in minutes. Personally this is what I do when I feel anxious, listening to music instantly relaxes me, I even dance alone and my daughter finds it funny but I feel wonderful and it recharges my vibes at the moment.

5. Create something new: Having a hobby like doing crafts, knitting, drawing, writing, among other activities is something positive to reduce anxiety.

6. Take a walk: Walking is an excellent activity for general health, it releases toxins and distracts the mind from all worries. You can take a walk through your area of ​​residence or go to a park and surround yourself with nature to reduce anxiety.

7. Find a positive distraction: Do an activity that you like a lot, such as doing relaxation exercises, reading, watching a movie at home, taking care of a plant; There are so many things we can do to reduce anxiety, you just have to find one that suits your need and be encouraged to do so.

These small actions will help you manage daily stress and keep anxiety at a low level, remember that this is a normal part of today's life, you just have to be aware of keeping the symptoms under control.
