COVID-19 in Mozambique is getting worse and it is not known until when the situation may improve, social involvement restrictions are getting heavier, schools were once again closed, transportation reduced their capacity and to make matters worse the president of the country launched a new lockdown and a curfew on the last warning on February 4, 2021.
These new measures have further aggravated the situation in the country, the borders were already operating on low gas, which raised the standard of living in the country and created a great shortage of staple foods since the countries of transaction such South Africa are also in a lockdown regime. This situation in the country created a major and serious public health problem where residents of large metropolitan cities such as Capital Maputo and Matola province are in community transmission, that is, the large number of infected people is located in these two cities that are divided only by a toll that is 17 KM from each one making fear that worry many people. The mandatory curfew was instituted after verifying that the level of contagion reached 1000 people per day in Maputo and Matola alone and the level of deaths also skyrocketed in a country that was no more than 200 infected per day since the epidemic started!
This new wave of infections worsened further in the period of December 2020 when many emigrants living and working abroad such as South Africa (which has a new variant of the COVID-19 virus) entered to spend the end of the year and Christmas in Mozambique, visiting the most beautiful beaches in Mozambique that were also inundated by tourists from all over the world (although the government insisted that there was control, but I don't think they did, and many customs officials were corrupted by dollars to pass through both air and land borders), which caused the explosion of COVID-19 cases to increase tenfold in the territory.
With all this happening, the standard rate of living has definitely gone down, food has gone up en masse, the Metical (which is the Mozambican national currency) has lost much of its value in relation to the US dollar, the major investing companies in the country like Mozal (the largest producer of aluminum in the country and in the southern region of Africa), Coca-Cola, which also employs several foreign nationals, has seen its workforce reduced due to the restrictions of COVID-19, making it impossible for many to return to the country since at the moment no entry visa for 30 days is being issued for Mozambican national territory.
Life has become too expensive and individual businesses like my own Casa Bitcoin Cash-Mozambique project are practically stopped as the human movement on the streets itself is totally or partially restricted.
Bitcoin Cash to the rescue
A lot of people are in fact spending more because of the restrictions imposed because of COVID-19 and also experiencing very heavy needs and for that reason the teaching of Bitcoin Cash has become a craze for me and whenever I can help friends and family to save some Bitcoin Cash value in their wallets as they can live knowing that they have a currency that is an anti inflation also can be used to pay for goods and services. In another approach, Bitcoin Cash can also be converted into several groups on whatsapp of cryptocurrency sales that circulate in a closed circuit and operated by investors who know the value of the currency and acquire it by facilitating both their investments and the direct purchase of products in China where many Mozambicans have gone to buy products to fill their local businesses. Obviously this group of investors is well versed in the field of cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin Cash is the best choice as it assumes a good prominence due to the condition of being much more viable in transactions charging very conventional rates, less than one cent of the dollar and can also make payment very even surpassing traditional Visa bank cards.
Obviously the actual use of this currency needs much more diffusion and it will have due respect as soon as possible, but not everything is stopped because whenever possible I spread the word about Bitcoin Cash to anyone who wants to hear and sincerely as soon as the "effect COVID-19 " failing to disturb the country will explode from so many Meetups, road show, physical giveaways and more but we still have to wait.
