God Tested Our Strength As Parents

Hello everyone! It's been three days since I haven't written any articles and not so active here in this platform. This week was full of exhaustion, worries, perturbation, lack of sleep and apprehensiveness. Normal feelings of a parent when their babies got sick. As a first time mom, it is inevitable to get worried and panicked especially when their child got sick. It is very hard especially when there is no one who can guide and give advises on what actions we can take. These past week was very stressful to us, me and my partner, for the reason that our baby got sick. That was our first time to experience such kind of situation. We had no idea what to do due to the fact that my partner's mother, who used to give an advised to us especially in this time of crisis, had taken her vacation at Holland. _____________________________ Story Time Last Sunday night, I noticed that my daughter was hot. We thought that it was just a normal fever since she didn't show any lethargic reaction. The next morning, she was still very hot so we let her took paracetamol medicine for her fever. After few minutes, her fever was gone but it came back at the afternoon. Again, we gave her medicine for her fever. But her fever reached for three days. We were already worried so we decided to take her to a pediatrician to check her up. We don't have hospitals or pediatric clinic in our place. We need to go to other town and it took up for a couple of hours to arrive in the place. So, we asked my partner's uncle to drive us so we can bring our daughter to a pediatrician. When we arrived at the clinic, the doctor interviewed me what happened then she immediately check her up. After checking my daughter, the doctor advised us to run a laboratory test. The laboratory tests is to make sure if my daughter has no dengue due to the fact that there are several dengue cases in our place. So, we went to a hospital to have a laboratory test. When we received the results, we head back to the pediatrician. She read the results and she was worried because the white blood cells (WBC), platelets and hematocrit count of my daughter did not reached the normal level. I felt weak when I heard what the doctor said. She requested another laboratory test and she included a dengue screening. The next day, we went back to the hospital. But this time, we only used motorcycle for the reason that my partner's uncle was busy and my partner doesn't know how to drive a car yet. When we arrived at the hospital, my daughter already know the place. She cried even though we were just at the door of the hospital. She cried harder when the nurse get her blood sample for the tests. It was very painful for me to see her in pain. I almost cried when I saw her blood slowly filled in the syringe. But I need to be strong for her. I need not to show weakness so that my partner won't feel down also. We waited for a couple of hours for the result. After we received the results, we head back again at the pediatrician. She read the results and we were so relieved because it showed an improvement and the dengue screening's result was negative. I was so happy when the doctor said there's nothing to worry. She prescribed some medicines and bought it immediately. We went home happily knowing that our daughter will be fine. The night came, after taking her medicine, we noticed that there were rashes on her back. We thought that it was just a reaction of the medicine. But as the night went deeper, her rashes spread widely to her body reaching to her face. We were perturbed again. The next morning, we visited again for the third time at the pediatrician. We consulted about the rashes. The doctor's finding was Roseola Infantum. **Roseola Infantum** is a viral infection. It is a common childhood disease that causes high fever and rashes. It has no cure or vaccine in this kind of disease but it is not dangerous. I was so relieved what the doctor discussed to me. Now, my baby is getting better. The rashes are slowly fading. _____________________________ CLOSING THOUGHT Being a parent is a huge responsibility. It is very challenging and draining especially when our children get sick. As parents, when our children is sick, we want to do whatever we can for them to feel better. We don't want to see them suffering and in pain. Sometimes we prayed that whatever pain they feel can be transferred to us. God tested our parenthood this time and I am glad that we surpassed it. My heart now is full of blissfulness watching my daughter cheerfully playing again. It warmth my heart seeing her innocent smiles. PASASALAMAT CORNER A million thanks to everyone who extend their support to me. To my sponsors, commenters, upvoters and readers, thank you so much for your unending support and trust.
