Adobo VS Sinigang ( Filipino Food Recipe)
There are two popular dishes here in the Philippines that Filipino is always comparing . These two dishes were tagged as dishes that represents Philippines or Filipino. Even though those dishes are influenced by Spaniards, these two dishes were part of the daily life of Filipinos. Who among these two dishes deserves to be tagged as National Dish or Viand of the Philippines.
These two dishes were different in taste but Filipino love it both. Lets start with Adobo.
Adobo is consist of Pork ( you can also use Chicken, Water Spinach , String Beans or even Egg) , Soy Sauce, Vinegar and Seasonings. You can also add potatoes if you want. When I cook Adobo I add sugar on it and little bit of chili. Adobo is a Spanish word "Adobar" which means marinate. Wayback on the time of our elders, they preserved thier food by means of adding condiments to it like salt or soy sauce. There are different versions of Adobo here in the Phillippines and all I know its all taste good.
The next popular dish here in the Philippines is the Sinigang.
Sinigang is consist of Pork ( you can also use Shrimp or Fish if you want), vegetables such as egg plant , water spinach or camote tops, taro and string beans. You can add green chili if you want. Sinigang is a kind of soup dish with a sour taste soup. It becomes sour by adding tamarind on it or even unriped mango, kamias or calamansi. Sinigang best serves when its hot. I personally love Sinigang especially the sour one.
Are you a team Sinigang or a team Adobo and why you choose it.
