Love : The Greatest of All Commandments

Waking up today i looked outside my window, the road was adorned with different colourful attires, everyone running to the various place of worship. Ignoring the beggars by the roadside, afraid they will stain their beautiful attire. I watched at the balcony and something got my attention. The beggars, why were the dodging the beggars ?

A portion of the scripture flashed on my mind 'it was about love, Loving God and your neighbor as yourself".

What does Love Means to You ?

Many people see love as a feeling experience in relationship. But love is more than just a feeling, the Bible meant bearing each others burden like it was yours. It's not just wearing your beautiful clothes to church, how well do you love God matters. How you relate with people also matters.

UnThe love mentioned in the bible was about devoting and sacrificing all you have, to make sure everyone around you are happy and satisfied.

Loving God to many is an impossible task, because God can't be seen, so how do you love Him then?

Ways Of Loving God

The bible spoke about the little kindness and deeds we showed on the less privilege. Jesus clearly pointed out that this little favors were indirectly done to him, so I came up with a list of things we could do, to show our love to God ;

1) Flee From Sin : This is very vital, as sin creates a barrier between us and God. Abstaining ourselves from fornication, adultry and stealing, if we can avoid doing all this, God will be happy with us and it will tell how much we love Him.

2) Prayers And Songs : While still a teen, Mom used to tell us the only way, we could connect to God is through prayers. And we know how much communication means alot in a relationship.

So creating a stronger and lasting relationship with God, will require us communicating with Him regularly, through prayers and singing of Godly songs. By doing this, we could show our love to God.

3) Be A Peace Maker : God doesn't love people who are abusive or who engage in Chaos. Staying away from such behaviours will Strengthen our love for God.

4) Helping the poor and Needy : We can't dodge this class of people in our society, no matter how rich the economy of our country is, there is still someone out there who is in need.

unIf we could meet with their needs , its a show of love to God. Visiting Destitute centers with old wears, food stuffs and cleaning agents will go a long way of showing Love to God.

5) Do not worship Other gods: It is written in the bible that we should not worship any other god except him. For he is a jealous God. Adhering strictly to this instruction, will Express our love for God.
