Have you watch the TOKYO OLYMPICS starts a few days ago?I am writing this article to give appreciation to the Philippine athletes who give "honor and glory" to our country.I have to mentioned Ms.Hidilyn Diaz who won the "Gold medal in Tokyo Olympics", this is the first time of Philippines to win a gold in weightlifting with Olympics in Tokyo, as I have heard from the news on Tv.

Being a woman ,I really admired her hard work to lift almost 200+kilos and , it really pays her effort of diligently following strict training.I am proud also because she came from Mindanao, which is my place. With her body looks very fit and strong enough for this field of sports. She's just a simple woman who start with nothing and now she has the best that she can be.

Another one, from Sta.Cruz Davao del Sur, which is my province here comes the new " hopeful to achieve a gold medal of Tokyo Olympic boxing", Nesthy Petecio.Hopefully, It will be the first time to win a gold in boxing category for almost how many years of joining Olympic games.

It's never been familiar to me of a woman who became a boxer, because girls are known to be tender and move in a slow pace. But this woman is really different just like Diaz who have a strong body build up.I thought that she just can have a bronze medal but she did it to the gold spot.

These two women are an example that we can do many things and strong at the same time.If a man can lift heavy loads, also a woman can do.If we have Manny Pacquiao, we also have boxers in Philippines, maybe it's better to find our passion of what we love doing.

  • More than gold award and other things that they receive this achievement is one way of showing love for our country or called "Patriotism".

They have express the love for our country by giving honor and show to the world their talents.By giving their best effort, energy and to their chosen sports.Do we love our country?Yes we should, because we live here.We can all show it by exercising our right like voting the right candidate on the coming election.

These two athletes are both came from Mindanao, that's why I'm so proud of them, they are Bisaya like me.

Their success brings comfort to all of us , that despite of the pandemic situation , they continue their passion for sports.

Just like what Hidilyn posted on her Instagram, how do we continue our passion in the pandemic situation? There are some people that seem they have stopped from nurturing their talent. And this victory of Filipinos seems like a wake up call to all of us to never stop dreaming, that there is always hope like what they do, just give your best, and everything will follow.

Our winners are the " Living Heroes"

of the new generations, they may not shed blood and die on the battle but they have shown to the world that Filipinos are strong and able to do things that requires strength. It conveys a message for us to be firm with whatever life battles we can encounter. It encourage me personally, as a woman , that we can do our passion despite of the pandemic situation.

  • "It makes us one"

When a Filipino athlete like "Manny Pacquiao ", and these recent victorious fight, with Hidilyn Diaz and Nesthy Petecio, my fellow men have united to cheer for them and clap their hands when they hit a punch to their opponent, they shout and jump for joy and even cry to show their happiness with this event. That's how they affect life for a moment , when they are on the fight. That is absolutely a great contribution for our country that gives hope with the current situation.

  • "They become an inspiration for every young people to strive harder"

This winning moments have blown up the fire for some aspiring athletes who have lost their confidence to pursue their dreams in sports. We can say an "pwede pala, pwede man diay", we can do it just like what they did.Filipinos are known to be "palaban", willing to fight, strong and confident to achieve dreams and become better people.

"They served as a role model"

Sports is a good way to keep our children from different vices and habits that will destroy their future. This two women who wins the Olympics is a role model to follow which really a good influence. Our fellowmen have become proud with this achievement.Being a Filipino, as a this is really memory that will last forever in the history of the Philippines.

I may not be an athlete , but I'm proud to say that I can keep my heads up that Filipinos are strong.

Proud to be Pinoy, from Mindanao.

Thanks for dropping by fellows!

Have a good day.

Congrats to Hidilyn! Nakakaproud!

Nesthy is to fight on August 3 for her final fight. Hindi pa tapos ang laban. She is in the running for at least silver as of the moment but not yet gold. Let's hope and pray she will win the second gold for the country :)

You might want to look up Arianne Cerdena https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arianne_Cerde%C3%B1a#:~:text=Arianne%20Cerde%C3%B1a%20(born%20March%2011,in%20the%20official%20medal%20tally. She is the first Filipino to win gold in the 1988 Summer Olympics in bowling. However, it was a demonstration event so it was not an official count.
