Today, August 30, 2021 it's a day in the Philippines when we celebrate Heroes day. As I watch tv this afternoon, they used to remind us about our heroes in the Philippines. These are the people who have died for the sake of our country like, Dr.Jose Rizal, Apolinario Mabini, Andres Bonifacio, Gregorio del Pilar, etc. These heroes are being introduced to us, since we are in our elementary days until Highschool, they serve as the greatest example of being great patriots who fight for our freedom.
My children didn't know them well, all they know is that this person are visible with our money, but they didn't recognize what they did for us. Honestly, even though I have encountered the story of their lives before but I didn't remember everything that our teachers have taught us.
The only hero that I will never forget is Dr.Jose Rizal because of his famous lines" that our youth is the hope of our nation. And also his novel like Noli Me Tanggere and El Filibusterismo, which always reminds me that it was his great work. I like to watch also movies which tell a story and how did our heroes fight like "Heneral Luna".
There are a different kinds of heroes, what I've mentioned above are called," national heroes", because they have done nobility for the country.
We have also our local heroes, this refers to the people in our area who saved us in times of difficulties, like flood, earthquake. It can be someone who helped us, it can be "mamang driver, traffic enforcer, health workers, mamang tanod, or delivery rider who deliver our ordered goods whether it rained or shine.
Sometimes, our families are our heroes, like are, Brother, Sister,Mother,Father or our best friends and anyone who helped us through our journey in life.Real heroes doesn't need nice costumes like what we see on Tv like Superman, Batman, and the Avengers.
We can be heroes in our own way, and we can start it at home where we can simply do our responsibility and fulfill all the duties that are given to us.
Heroes are modeled in character, deeds, and being a good influenced towards other people.A hero is someone who will not harm his/her fellow men to stumble down, but to give everyone the courage of living each day.
No enough words can describe how do it look like a hero, but it's just simply by being a good people in our own country.
Let me share to you the person who became my hero when I was in Highschool.
My Hero Story
My classmate is my Hero. One day, we walk from school going home, it was raining, and before we can reach our home we need to cross a river because there was no bridge on that time.I and my friend Joy, who is with me felt nervous before we reached the river, because we assumed that it was already flooding. And we didn't get wrong, when we get there,it was already flooding and we crossed it, because we don't have a choice to make since we don't have any friend near the river to have sleep over.We hold our hands together and cross the surging flood, we take off our skirt and wear just our shorts. When we are in the middle of the river, our hands have slept with each other and I was almost carried by the flood but she grab my hand and pull me up so that i can get up, until we reached the other side of the river. If she was not there, maybe i was lost by the flood.
Heroes are just nearby.
