1 New message arrived (not just a text)

 "It's not just an ordinary message that he received one day, but it changed his whole life more than what he expected". 

Keenan, a lawyer who had a two kids and a beautiful life, in his profession, he used to perform well as much as he can. He helped the needy who have experienced injustice who can't afford to fight for their rights as an ordinary citizen. 

One day, he received a message, 

"I know your biggest secret, spare my client or else everybody will know who you are." 

Keenan had a client who is being harassed by a rich man's child, it was an offender both in physical and verbal. But, what happened is that the guy have used his influenced and connections to a high rank public officers so that they can win against the case that has been filed to him, they want to exploit the lawyer in exchange of his freedom from the case.

On the other side, the lawyer had a dark history in his past that he keep it hidden for a long time. His wife and children didn't even know what he did. They thought they were a good, and perfect father, they looked up to him as a great influenced and a role model to the society. 

Keenan didn't thought that there is someone who dig deeper in his past life, they used it to make him feel down, struggled emotionally and mentally, to divert his attention from focusing on the case. 

"One more, he received a photo that has been forwarded" 

"Is this an enough evidence? (with Keenan's photo while doing a certain crime)." A cctv footage that he never thought in his whole life to come out one day. 

Back story…. 

A long time ago, when Keenan was traveling on the road going to the place where he is about to take an examination, the venue was located in the city, and he is running too fast riding his car. His already late for the tests, that's why he never waste time but turns his car into a full speed ahead. When suddenly there is an old lady who crossed the street with a wheelchair, they were about to cross path, the car have hit her. But, what a coincidence that it was his wife's grandmother that is about to go to church every Sunday. The old lady died on the spot and Keenan ran fast and  didn't pay attention to the dead body. 

On that day, his wife's family mourned for almost 2 weeks. They were seeking justice but they couldn't even find anything. It makes his wife's  mother felt no appetite at all, they don't even let her walk alone. Their search for justice just end without prior investigation. 

And this story was one of the situation that is being used by the opponent of the lawyer to make him embarrassed and feel pity for himself. 

Keenan is worried if he will tell his wife the truth or he will just go against the enemy on his own. But, one day, his wife received a message, 

"You wanna know your husband's secret?, Do you think he is a good man, but he's like a filthy rags that is thrown into your face." 

His wife was confused about the message, and Keenan immediately checked his phone if there was a new text. 

"Give me 1 million dollars or I will give the CCTV footage to your wife". 

He was planning to meet the anonymous messenger, that's why he decided to meet him in a certain place and negotiate. But the man had refused to show up, instead sending a video clip to Keenan's wife. But it was not already clear, he sends the unedited version of the footage. Keenan's wife cried, while he saw his grandmother that was being hit by the car, but Keenan's face was not already shown. 

She called her husband and asked him what was happening. Did he know about the video, but the lawyer just kept on denying. 

Until one day, there's a 1 message arrived, 

"Today, your secret will be revealed, with just one click!" (With a screenshot of the full video of Keenan to be sent to his wife). 

Keenan replied to meet him on the road where it happened. 

And the offender replied, "I'll see you there!" 

He immediately drove the car, and his wife noticed that his husband had done something weird that day. She saw him walking so fast that's why Keenan's wife follows him all the way to the main highway were the incident happened a long time ago. 

While he was driving, he became emotional as well as angry against the person who was doing it to him. He brought a case with a 1 million dollars cash in exchange for the video clip. He knew that it was never easy to find those hard earned money, but he didn't have a choice, but to give it or to lose his family in his whole life. 

Keenan's wife also had a doubt about his husband that there must be something secret that he didn't tell her. He never let go of his husband's car until they arrived at the meeting place. 

Keenan saw a car on the roadside, so he stopped there for a while and waited to see if there would be some who would get out of that car. 

Then, 1 message arrived,

"Get out of that car and put down the money, and I will delete your videos". 

Keenan replied, 

"Give me your phone".-Keenan 

"Okay let's get out together, and exchange things." - scammer

They both get out from the car while Keenan's wife is looking at them from afar, she also leave the car.

She slowly comes closer to her husband and the guy. 

When Keenan had already given the money to the man, he punched Keenan on his face and pointed a gun. 

Her wife was mad and she took her gun inside the car. Keenan and the guy had a fight, he kicked the man's arms and the pistol was thrown away,  that's why they kept on punching each other, until the man was holding Keenan's neck and punching him on his face. 

But Keenan's wife shoots the man on his head and it falls down on the ground. His husband was surprised with the gunshot and when he looked back he saw his wife standing and pointing a gun. 

And Kenan said to his wife, 

"Hi honey, you're here. '

Give me that phone Hon! _wife

Why? - _Kenan

Just give me that damn phone or I will shoot you on your face_Wife

 The wife opened the phone, and he saw that his husband was the reason why her grandmother had died on her birthday. 

She was crying in desperation when she found out that her husband was the one who killed his grandmother. 

'Get inside the car Honey, (while she' s pointing the gun unto her husband), get inside (with a loud voice and teary eyes). 

Okay Hon, her husband replied. 

Her wife drove the car so fast as much she could while holding her gun. 

Why didn't you tell me? 

You should've known how desperate we are to find justice for her! 

"Okay I'm so sorry, I'm just so afraid to lose you and my kids". _kenan

"Believe me I never intended to hit your grandma, it's just an accident!" _Kenan

"It's an accident, but why didn't you tell me?" aaaahhhhhhhh

His wife became wild inside the car, and drove the car in the straight path but with their surprise there was a huge track that they bumped into. 

"Honey, we're crushing!" _Kenan

He hugged his wife tightly while she is crying and lose herself"

They are hit by a big truck and lose consciousness. 

The rescuer arrived and they are brought to the nearest hospital. 

After 2 days….. 

His wife already wake up. 

"Where is my husband?" _Kenan

He is the next room Ma'am. _Nurse

What happened to him? _The wife

He was paralyzed, and his brain had a clot. He lost his ability to speak and wasn't able to move his body, maybe it will take 3-4 months before he can recover. 

The wife cried and she is now blaming herself on why did his husband. 

3 weeks later…. 

They both discharge from the hospital and go home. His wife is the one who takes care of Keenan. Day and night she was with him to watch over. 

There are times that she saw in his husband's eyes that there were tears that fell, but he still couldn't say anything . he wife knows how much he felt sorry for what he did. 

And while she's holding his hand, she told him that she "forgives him'. 

Keenan had teary eyes again, and was able to hold his wife's hand so tight. 

They live in peace together with their children, despite Keenan's physical condition. Her wife sometimes brings him to a beach to watch the sunrise with their kids.

Writer's Statement:

Forgiveness is always the key. Reconciliation and healing of one's heart will lead to peace. There are things that happen for a reason, we like it or not, but in the end, all things work together for good.
