Information War. Stop Russia.
Hi friends. Glad to be here with you. Thanks to the sponsors who support me
It is already the 20th day of the war in Ukraine. Russia is advancing and does not want to leave Ukraine. The murder does not stop. Russia attacks with missiles, hail, destroys homes, schools, homes, military units. Many people, children and young soldiers died.
Many children have been orphaned, how can they live without their parents now? Who should be responsible for this?

How would you behave when enemies came to your house and drove you away? Killed friends and relatives? Would you protect your homes? Now there is a big information war. People in Russia are deceived that they are not attacking Ukraine, but conducting a peacekeeping mission ..... this is a lie. It is Russia that is killing our people, not America, but Russia. I want to convey to the whole world that Russia is an aggressor.
Information war
The information war has become one of the most dangerous weapons today. Information warfare may include: gathering tactical information; ensuring the security of their own information resources to spread propaganda or misinformation to demoralize the enemy's army and population; undermining the quality of enemy information and preventing the possibility of gathering information by the enemy.
IP is often conducted in conjunction with cyber and psychological wars in order to broaden coverage of targets, with the involvement of electronic warfare and network technologies. The main means of conducting IP is information weapons, conducted through information operations.
Information warfare as a means of influence
The purpose of information warfare is to weaken the moral and material strength of the enemy or competitor and to strengthen one's own. It provides for measures to promote human consciousness in the ideological and emotional spheres. Meanwhile, the destruction caused by information wars in social psychology, the psychology of the individual, in scale and significance are quite commensurate, and sometimes exceed the consequences of armed wars.
Information warfare views information as a separate object or as a potential weapon and target. Information warfare can be considered as a qualitatively new type of hostilities, active counteraction in the information space. Information warfare is an attack on the information function, regardless of the means used. Specific weapons are used in strategic information wars. These weapons do not cause physical harm, but can lead to real war.
Ukraine and Russia have been waging such a war for more than a year. Russia constantly provokes the Ukrainian government with loud statements and simply treats Ukrainians with contempt in its information materials, insulting them as a nation and wanting to present Ukraine as a terrorist state.
If at the beginning of this war ordinary citizens were indifferent, now contempt is manifested not only at the level of leadership, but also at the level of the masses.
And, if you understand the social processes, you can understand that the third world has long begun. And that it is much worse, because the destruction is due to information affecting the brain and psyche of people. And if bullets and shells are known to fly from, information bombs appear suddenly and in an unknown place, and sometimes it is impossible to repel such an attack at all.
Analysis of the development of the situation around Ukraine gives every reason to say that today our state is faced with a new form of hostilities. The beginning of a new era of hybrid war can be considered against Ukraine
The information campaign against Ukraine launched by the Russian Federation is a rather deep and multi-level aggression. It includes many factors that are aimed at weakening Ukraine in political, economic, military, informational terms in order for the whole world community to exclude the Ukrainian issue from the agenda. In order to occupy Ukraine completely and further destroy all demoralized resistance efforts.
To effectively counter information warfare, regular countermeasures must be taken. An important role in solving this problem is given to the media. It is the facts that are covered by the media, the emphasis on certain phenomena or aspects of confrontation, shape the audience's opinion about the conflict, stimulating the right reaction. The media provide opportunities to turn a small conflict into a big confrontation or, conversely, to quickly level a serious problem. The course of the conflict itself largely depends on the attitude of the media to the event, their bias and involvement. The public plays an important role in combating information warfare, people with an active position in life, who convey information on the Internet that is different from that imposed on society from the outside. In this case, we can mention both the experience of Georgia and the current experience of Ukraine in creating pro-Ukrainian and exposing Internet resources
The most difficult and time-consuming, but quite effective method of combating information guilt, in my opinion, is to increase society's analytical skills, training in methods of critical analysis of messages, protection from information sabotage. To do this, it is necessary to introduce disciplines in information hygiene and combating it in educational institutions of all levels. After all, we receive countless fakes not only from the media, but also from social networks such as Facebook, Instagram, Tok-tok and others. And the successful banning of Russian social networks in 2015, such as Vkontakte and Odnoklassniki, the media and other online and print media, has significantly helped Ukraine resist the spread of false news. By the way, the Baltic countries, which have the same problems today, are also interested in such a successful practice. In this sense, we can demonstrate a few examples that demonstrate news using fakes.
Example.
A video entitled "The United States and the European Union will destroy Ukraine!" Was posted on the Internet. The truth about the events in Ukraine. Watch everyone! ”, In which the Ukrainian politician criticizes the current government, accuses it of a number of abuses and calls to stop the government. Analysis of the video and search for additional information about the facts mentioned by the politician suggests that the video is a fragment cut from the general context of the autumn 2012 election events, but presented in the context of political events in 2014 to form a critical assessment.
It is also worth noting that phrases such as "Urgent", "Attention to all", "Just…" and so on, which occur in the headlines can already be considered 50%, which is untrue. After all, their main goal is to attract attention and then communicate something.
Therefore, in this sense, it is proposed to introduce a subsystem of active operations on information influence to counter the information war. According to them, its implementation should be organized within the framework of the policy of information confrontation using the capabilities of the Security Service of Ukraine. In my opinion, the relevant center really should be created, but its functioning should be organized on a voluntary basis at the expense of donor infusions. Taking into account the research, the main functions of the center will be as follows:
1. Coordination of the activities of volunteers for monitoring media resources for the presence of materials that have a detrimental information impact, as well as the implementation of such activities by the staff of the center
2. Encouraging the public to create resources to expose false information messages, as well as to bring the results in an accessible form to the public. Instead of keeping a number of moderators of integrity standards, Facebook has given everyone the right to moderate posts.
3. Formation of proposals to the current legislation to the legislative and executive authorities to improve the information security system of the country. It is necessary to adopt a law at the legislative level on criminal liability for disseminating false information on the territory of Ukraine.
4. Adaptation of modern methods of information confrontation to domestic realities and provide recommendations for their application to relevant government agencies. Creation of a state program on information confrontation of Ukraine's enemies and approve it by the Verkhovna Rada.
5. Based on the above, we can conclude that combating information warfare and information terrorism is one of the areas of information security as part of national security. Mechanisms to counter these threats should be high-tech and systemic.
The main challenge today is how to take systematic steps to respond to Russia's information war. Research shows that Russia's strategy is hybrid and flexible, has many faces and many dimensions, for lies and aggression. In addition, it has a unique ability to transform into forms of democratic narratives and instruments, as well as national forms. She is using democracy against herself. And that is what makes it so unique, and the fight against it so difficult. But at a time when information is increasingly being used as a tool in war, we have no other alternative than to fight it, to disarm weapons, to curb the aggressor. I believe that Ukraine will win the information and combat wars. And we will be strong, Independent Ukraine.
This is, in fact, the saddening reality between Russia and Ukraine's war today. I think the misinformation and fear caused by media from propaganda to the intentional declaration of these details were clear manifestations of how Russia had wanted to handle the situation. I just hope the war would be over. Take care, we wish the people of Ukraine (and nearby countries), their safety.
