"My Wedding Tips for You"
March 03, 2022
Walking down the aisle and seeing the man of your life waiting for you is the best of the best feeling that all girls want to experience.
Marriage is the final process for the two individuals to be legally united as one and to be called each other as wife and husband. It is also can be done sacredly known as a church wedding or by civil marriage.
There are factors that you need to consider in planning for the wedding.
The blessing from both parents.
Asking permission from the parents of your bride to be is one of showing your sincerity and respect. It is also important because this is also the time that you and your bride to be to discuss your plans, the date, the budget, and the papers to prepare for the said wedding.
Budget
This is the biggest factor you should consider before planning everything for the wedding. Everything you plan should be according to the allotted budget. Don't forget that it is more important to be debt-free than applying for some loans because you want a more lavish wedding but the budget is not enough for what you want to happen. But, except if you have a big salary that more than the money you want to spend.
Let me share with you some wedding tips and this is based on my personal experience.
Last August 18, 2021, when I got married. And I am so lucky to experience the hardship in preparing for the wedding because I learned a lot.
We start the process by June 2021, from the papers, seminars, and interviews since we decided to have a church wedding. It takes time because we need to request some papers, especially for my husband's family name spelling in his Baptismal. With God's grace, it was granted and we continue the process.
After that, we focus on the preparation for the attire, souvenirs, invitation cards, and prenup photoshoot.
To save money, I decided to find another way for the preparation with help of our connections;
Disclaimer: This is only suitable for the budgetarian wife and husband-to-be.
Instead of hiring a photographer for our prenup shoot. We bought a DSLR camera to be used in the prenup shoot, we invest at least the item will be ours and we can use it for future events. And my cousins help us to do our simple but elegant shoot. We just hire our friend who is also a photographer on our wedding day.
I'm not a picky type of girl since my husband knows someone who sells Thailand Pre-love Gown we grab the opportunity to invest in it. My gown only cost 3, 999 pesos but it is so beautiful.
I shop my bridesmaids, flower girls, and maid of honor infinity dresses in Shopee. I save more than half of the allotted budget for the girl's attire. We choose nude brown and nude gray for our wedding because they look so classy and they suit our minimalist wedding theme.
Since we have a friend that owns the boy's attire. We just rented it and she give it at a low price as her wedding gift for us.
Footwears from Shopee.
The shoes we both used at our wedding are also from shopee. You can choose many designs at an affordable price.
Make-up for the girls.
If you have a friend who is a makeup artist, you can ask for help, or if she/he offers to give you a free makeup session accept it.
In my case, my husband's gay friend is the one who makes me beautiful on my wedding day and I contacted a friend of mine to be the makeup artist for the girls.
Souvenirs and Invitation Cards
I just DIY our souvenirs and it is from Shopee. We also just printed a limited number of cards because we can't travel easily due to the travel restrictions. So we used social media such as messenger to connect and send our virtual invitations to the person we want to invite on our wedding day.
I designed our wedding invitation cards with the help of the Canva App.
Since we choose a minimalist theme for our wedding and the wedding decorator is a family friend, he gives us a discount for the decoration.
It is a very simple but so elegant decoration.
We are so happy that we save a huge amount of money because of some help from our friends.
Our wedding is not lavish like others but the most important for us is the blessing and the people who celebrated with us on our special day.
Closing Thought:
Be wise and think before you plan, it is not bad to dream of a lavish wedding but make sure that you are debt-free after the wedding and you didn't spend your savings.
