A young man decided to trade a paper clip to get a dream house ...
Kyle MacDonald is a young man who wanted to make a new house in a very unusual way. He set out to trade one red paper clip for things someone offered him in return. Kyle has created a nice website where you can arrange a barter.
"This red paper clip is currently on my desk, I would like to trade with someone for something bigger, better and nicer, maybe a pencil, an armchair, a couch, or a boat. If you promise to trade with me, come and see me wherever you are. I hope to see you soon, "Kyle wrote on his website.
Soon, Kyle met with great enthusiasm from people and managed to trade his red pencil clip. He further traded his pen for the door handle and thus continued to trade more expensive and more valuable things. Kyle managed to get Trump to come up with very interesting things, such as a Honda generator, a Budweiser sign, a snowmobile, a trip for two to Colombia, a contract to record a song...
What brought him the most success was a day with the band Alice Cooper. After a lot of different trades, Kyle got a pass with which he can spend the whole day with the popular rock band, Alice Cooper. He exchanged that pass for a role in the movie "Donna on Demand", and then traded the role for a beautiful house for Kipling.
Kyle showed us that dreams can come true if you cleverly start chasing them.
Canadian Kyle McDonald (34) performed an incredible feat when with the help of 14 transactions he managed to exchange office supplies for his current home. Read what he traded to achieve the set goal
Kyle MacDonald, 34, a Canadian blogger, tried and succeeded in replacing the red stapler for a house on the first floor in a year, by exchanging these office supplies on Internet sites for exchanging things and eventually reaching his goal.
McDonald found the inspiration for this project in a children's game he played as a child (Bigger and Better) and when he saw a paper clip on the table, an idea came to him.
On the well-known site "Craigslists", he placed an ad to change the little red paper clip for something better and bigger. In the next 14 transactions, he managed to get a house in Canada by the exchange.
He started with transactions in 2005 and he had to make these trades to get something "bigger and better".
1. On July 14, 2005, he traveled to Vancouver to replace a fish-shaped pencil clip.
2. On the same day, he replaced the pencil with a handmade handle.
3. On July 25, 2005, he traveled to Massachusetts to replace the handle with a small camper gas stove.
4. On September 4, 2005, he traveled to California, where he exchanged for a generator.
5. On November 16, 2005, he replaced the unit with an empty beer keg, a beer voucher of his choice, and a "Budweiser" illuminated sign.
6. In December, he changed everything for a snowmobile.
7. The following week, a snowmobile was traded for a two-person trip to Jack, Canada.
8. In January 2006, he changed places for one person on a small truck trip.
9. On February 22, he exchanged the truck for a contract to record a music album.
10. In April 2006, he gave the contract to record the album to the American singer Jody Gnant in exchange for a rented apartment for a year.
11. On April 26, he exchanged a rented apartment for one afternoon with singer Alice Cooper.
12. A month later, he exchanged the meeting with the singer for a snowball on the batteries of the group "Kiss".
13. In early June, he replaced the group's ball with a role in the film "Donna on Demand".
14. After almost a year, on July 5, 2006, MacDonald reached his goal. The last transaction was when he exchanged the film role for a two-story house in Kipling, Canada, which is now his home.
