Entrepreneurship doesn't always mean a big investment.

There are myths about entrepreneurship and business. People think that starting a small business requires a massive amount of capital. People also keep a notion that one requires a business family background to start a business.

Family support is essential for any kind of career. If it is business, you need unconditional moral support from the family.

You don't always need huge funds to start an entrepreneurial venture. The essential ingredients for starting a small business are the idea, i.e., the minimum viable product (MVP), courage, and self-belief. To continue and sustain, you need the "never give up" attitude.

Educated youths don't get enough job opportunities

The global employment scene is not bright. Educated citizens don't have enough job opportunities. The job market shrunk more because of the enforced lockdowns during the last two-plus years of the so-called "pandemic" (or "PlanDemic").

In fact, the state of employment availability is not at all encouraging. The situation is severe in the third-world countries in Asia, Africa, and Soth America.

  • In these circumstances, the global youth must learn and practice entrepreneurship. The entrepreneurship training must start from high school onwards.

Today, I will write a real story about how two educated Indian girls are doing well in their small businesses in roadside food selling. Both girls graduated from college and university. But, they were suffering to get a suitable job. Then, they decided to plunge into entrepreneurship.

Educated women food sellers in a suburban town in India

There is a global job shortage noticed in most nations of the world. When a youth passes out of college, he/she is not guaranteed a job by the state. There are very less employment opportunities.

QUESTION: What is the solution to this problem of job crunch?
ANSWER: Entrepreneurship can only solve the problem of job crunch.

  • Currently, I got super inspired to read and watch entrepreneurship development stories from semi-urban areas of India. I will describe only a couple of entrepreneurial ventures in the food selling sector, which I have watched in a young girl's vlog.

Video: "M.A. Pass| Girl Momo Seller in a Small Town | Krishnanagar."

Two educated girls from semi-urban areas of West Bengal, India proved how they initiated small businesses to solve their unemployment problem.

  • Both girls are educated and got degrees from college and university. One has earned a Bachelor's degree, and another has a Master's degree. When they faced employment, they discussed it among themselves and decided to start small businesses.

They came out of the stereotypes of trying for employment as the only career option. They planned for a small business of food selling and started their roadside shops in Krishnanagar.

First Story: M.A. Pass "Fuchka" (Panipuri in Hindi) Snacks Seller

  • Shimpi passed her M.A. in Bengali recently but couldn't secure any job. She didn't take job crunch as a negativity-building experience. Instead, she started a roadside food selling business in "Fuchka," a mouth-watering snack.

Shimpi's story encourages me to pour more effort into all my entrepreneurial exercises. I will definitely try to visit her roadside shop in Krishnanagar.

Second Story: B.A. Pass "Momo" (also Momo in Hindi) Snacks Seller

Ankita is a friend of the first entrepreneur girl, i.e., Shimpi. She passed her BA in Bengali a couple of years ago. She tried hard to get a job but couldn't succeed in securing one. Because everybody knows the lack of employment opportunities in the country for years.

  • She and her friend decided to start selling snacks on the roadside of the crowded town of Krishnanagar. Her item is "Momo" and doesn't overlap with her friend's item, "Fuchka."

Ankita's "Momo" selling business has been successfully launched, and customers are satisfied with the quality and price of her delicious "Momo."

What a story of developing a small business in "Momo" selling. I am super excited to watch and learn about Ankita's "Momo" selling business. I will surely visit her shop some day or the other.

Bringing it altogether

  • Entrepreneurship is a must to do activity after high school and college.

  • In fact, teaching hands-on entrepreneurship must start from high school.

Entrepreneurship can solve the problem of employment in human society.

  • Today's article has taken two examples of women entrepreneurs who took bold steps to plan, start, and sustain small businesses in food selling.

I strongly recommend learning and practicing entrepreneurship in whatever way is possible. Entrepreneruship is the need of the time that can save the globe from employment shortage.

Ahh recently I was inspired by a teen age girl who was working for food panda and was accomplishing the food panda service via bike. Literally i was amazed by her vigour and hard work. Anyway all working people's are indeed better than one who begs and bow their head infront of others. More power to them.

Unemployment seems to be a common thing in your country too. A lot of graduates are jobless in my country too, and often resort to doing what they can for themselves. Well done to them.

This is true, a lot of people who finished their studies but they didn't have job after their graduation, but this story encourage us not to lose hope, that we can do something to earn money for our family, it's not that job alone can provide us but we can make money out of creativity.

This story has boosted my self-confidence, and I hope young people should exercise some entrepreneurial activities from the early days of high school. Parents and teachers must support them.

I hope so, so that young people can create their own opportunity if they can't find any.

Everyone can do something to find resources, yes they also need support especially when they are just to start a small business.

That's right, if we cant find job through employment why make ourselves be our own boss by having a small business. Good is the number one item good for selling because your customer now can be your customer tomorrow too.

This is the same with my sister. After she graduated, it is difficult to compete with others especially those with experience, so to make her free time valuable, she ventured into a mini snack bar and she also let me operate an online selling business. She saved money to get her Master's Degree so that it wouldn't be that difficult to compete in the career she chose.

If we do commitment with ourselves to do something then it never bow down our spirit and assets in hand. Such minds can generate business with zero investment or very less amount. Both are inspirational ladies which shows us the new horizon of life.

I never saw a girl selling snacks in our localities in roadside shops. I am greatly inspired by these two girls' courage to start small businesses on their terms. There were negative comments from neighbors. I am happy their parents support their educated daughters in selling snack businesses on the roadsides.

The problem with many Indians is they don't see this a business or entrepreneurship if you are a graduate or master graduate. It's like a low status work to many of them. The mentality is the main barrier here. These small business earn better than basic graduate level jobs and many times surpass the master level also. There's one fuckha wala here who in pandemic earned more than 1 lakhs in a month and currently he earns 20-30 thousand rupees daily which is big for a small business.

The notion that education must get jobs must be removed from our minds. There is no bad career if the pursuer is happy. The parents realize that they should support entrepreneurship without any gender distinction. Generally, "Fuchka" or "Momo" selling is considered a small business for the males. I like the story because these two girls and their parents broke that stereotypical career choice.

Indeed, we don't need a lot of funds to start up a business. There are some businesses that are capital intensive while some are not. Most people think it's only money they need to start a business but it's not only money but ability to identify a problem that needs solving while understanding the market too because without these two, the money you have gathered to start up a business would just go down the drain. Those two women identified a need and they solved it. That's business and that's what entrepreneurial skills should be all about.
