Human Tourists Trespass on Jungles

How many times have you toured jungles? I visited local jungles along with my family and friends. In our college days, to avoid crowds in the cities, we were fond of going to jungles during festive days, such as the Durga Puja. We used to enjoy the silence and natural sounds of the jungles. Some of us trained ourselves in touring jungles. We followed the rules and regulations laid out by the forest department of our country. I don't remember doing any harm to the jungles and their habitats. But, it is our perception. Think about the animals. There are plenty of tourists who don't pay attention not to disturb the privacy of animal life. The contribution toward the sound and atmospheric pollution by the frequent visits of the jungle tourists is not negligible. Do you know that touring jungles disturb their habitats? Everybody knows that visiting the jungles can affect the animals' natural living conditions. The greeneries of the jungles are also affected in a big way. People pollute the jungle areas with plastic, glass, and metallic waste. In spite of the rules and facilities of the governments, most tourists never comply with the law. People think that a little bit of non-compliance may not make it so bad. It is the callousness of the urban tourists that severely increase pollution in the vicinity of the forests. The people also put pressure on water availability to the animals because the adjacent resorts have been taking drinking water from the adjacent water bodies/streams. As a result, jungle tourism can heavily disturb the inhabitants of the jungles. Yet humans boast or rather take pride in jungle tours. Just prior to the Durga Puja, one of my relatives and her extended family toured Kenya and visited the favorite jungle spots. They proudly showed the photographs and video clips. The jungle tours are not very cheap. It requires a good amount of funds to tour famous jungles of the world. So, jungle safaris are a matter of prestige for civilized humans. Humans lived in the jungles in the ancient past. According to anthropology, orangs and champagnes are their forefathers. Now, humans live in the comfort of civilized homes. Still, humans have a strong desire to visit jungles and see animal life. Postscript Today, an old video clip appeared on my feed on social media. It was shared by many on YouTube and elsewhere. The jungle is the Sundarbans which is famous for the Royal Bengal Tigers. The tiger was literally scared and quickly swam across the river and vanished inside the adjacent mangrove jungle of the Sundarbans.
