Focus on What You Want to Do
Forget about what you should do.
There are times when we often waste a lot of time thinking about what we should do. Don’t waste your precious time looking at celebrity social media influencers and their video preachings. They say many things “you do this,” “you do that,” “don’t do this,” “don’t do that,” “you should do this and that” and so on.
Will you think about “What you should do’ or focus on what you want to do?
Forget about “what you should do.” Do something little that pushes you in the forward direction. Learn new things, and acquire new knowledge and skills. Upgrade your already acquired skillset. Enjoy your life grindings in its every bit. Reject the negative aspects. Adopt positivity in whatever you do.
Find what you are decent at
In the early days of schooling, our lives were influenced mostly by our parents/guardians and to some extent by exemplary teachers. Sometimes, our parents dictated to us what we should do.
Most teachers also followed strict guidelines of disciplines laid out by the school administrators. All these controls made us run after what they wanted us to do.
Everybody may devote sometime in doing what your heart says to do.
We could have found our own likings and interests. We could have devoted time to engaging in subjects and activities we liked. We could be decent at what we liked from the bottom of our hearts.
Despite the disciplinary tyrannies in our schools, many of us might have spent a little time daily doing what we were decent at. These activities would help us in our adult life.
Start doing what you can do, and like to do
I have seen engineers who are splendid as a painter. Their parents forced them to become engineers because they wanted to enforce their dreams on their children. It is similar to governments’ forced regulations on citizens’ freedom in their lives.
The best things happen when people are given freedom of choice in the trade they want to take up in their professional life. There is a need to find out the aptitude and what one likes to pursue.
We can take life as freedom and do what we can do and like to do. We can excel in a subject that which we have intense leanings and liking. We can start doing those works that we are decent at. Expertise comes automatically after continual practice on the subject of choice.
No day is late, start doing it now
There is no time to think about what you couldn't do in the past. It is meaningless to repent for your mistakes. Instead, learn from past mistakes and move on. Focus on your choicest area of work. No day is late, start doing it today.
Every day, with a little actionable step, march forward to do what you like to do.
It is after all your choice whether you would chase others' dreams or care your inner mind's call. Once you identify what matches your liking, and what you are good at, you are one step closer to accomplishing what you want to achieve in life.
Bringing it altogether
Don't waste time thinking about what you couldn't do, and what you should do.
Think about what you like to do, and what you are good at.
Focus on what you want to do, and just start doing it without any hesitation.
Nobody can stop you from accomplishing what you want to achieve in life.
