Displays play a pivotal role in modern life.

When you look at your mobile and laptop screen, do you think about how the visuals are displayed there? It is understood that the display screen is a device that can render all visuals.

The display technologies evolved into their current state after going through years of research, development, engineering, and manufacturing innovation.

Now, the body of a vehicle can also dynamically display visuals. The transparent window glasses can turn into your TV display screens with a click of a switch on a handheld remote control device.

I studied display technologies in my master's degree course in applied physics because it consisted of interdisciplinary fields of electronics, optics, material sciences, engineering drawing, mechanical and optical workshops, computing, etc.

• The present display technologies have evolved into an exceptionally unique state. The applications range from computer monitors, smartphones, advertisement displays, dashboard displays in cars and aircraft, etc.

• Today's podcast on display technology will give me wide exposure to the present state of the art of display devices research and commercial applications.
