E-Bay Accepting Crypto- Bring on BCH
So guys, as I may have mentioned, I do a bit of writing also on Publish0x under the account I-HODL, and today I posted a short article on eBay's recent announcement about its plans to accept crypto, possibly with a major announcement on March 10th.
I noted in the article that this was a major announcement because:
As an e-commerce giant, eBay manages approximately $85 billion of payments directly.
The platform already allows for the trade of non-fungible tokens so accepting cryptocurrencies would be an easy step
Banks are already warming to cryptocurrencies and this announcement by eBay could lead to the possible entry of other big players such as Walmart and Amazon
And who could forget the impact the fake report that Walmart was going to accept Litecoin had last year?
I'd like to talk a bit more about there here with you guys, because- not to shill- but I've been thinking, wouldn't it be great if Bitcoin Cash is included as one of the payment options to be accepted by the e-commerce giant? And I mean it makes perfect sense that it should be accepted, right? Let's discuss it.
I continue to thank my kind sponsors and readers for your support and encouragement.
Bitcoin Cash as a payment option
In a nutshell, BCH, a hardfork from the original Bitcoin blockchain in 2017, continues to share the same goals as BTC, i.e., to develop as a decentralized digital currency that is not constrained by governments or geographical borders. BCH also seeks to overcome some of the challenges encountered BTC.
BCH is excellent as a payment processor as it conducts more transactions per minute than Bitcoin, the scalability is bigger and transaction fees are significantly lower. It costs on average $0.01 per BCH transaction.
BCH has a consistent hashrate and is less vulnerable to a 51% attack. It is also noteworthy that BTC miners can also help to secure the BCH network.
Conclusion
Well guys, I look forward to eBay's March 10th announcement. I am not a maximalist so I hope this is great news for the crypto community in general and for BCH holders in particular. And who knows? Maybe we'd see these coins climbing even more than they have over the past few days. Further, I look forward to similar announcements by other e-commerce platforms.
On BCH's strength as a payment processor though, there is an old saying that goes, the proof of the pudding is in the eating. From 2017 to now, I believe that BCH has shown and will continue to show its superior value. It's now left up the rest of us to continue to embrace and ensure the continued growth of this project.
