There was a time the red flag hung high in the City of Manchester. Those periods when you did be proud to call yourself a Red Devil (a moniker for the Manchester United football club fan).

But those periods are now being referred to as the "glory days." Fans of football surely know how Manchester United dominated the Premier League and how they won numerous titles.

Presently that is now the past and history. The club is currently a shadow of its past, as they struggle to make the top four positions in the league. Last season, they finished sixth after a shambolic display.

I'm sure that Ten years ago, no one saw that coming as no one would think Manchester United would go so low in standard and performance. Now in most matches, they seem to be the underdog.

There are two football clubs in the city of Manchester playing in the premier league. They are Manchester United Football Club (the red devils) and Manchester City Football Club (nicked named the citizens). While things are not going well for some football lovers in one half of Manchester, the reverse is the case in the other half of Manchester.

Manchester United have been in the limelight over the years due to their achievement. Little was known about their neighbours outside of England.

There was once a time Alex Ferguson (Former Manchester United's manager and the most successful) once called city "the noisy neighbors."

The noisy neighbors are now big boys

But things have changed a lot in the world of football and also in the city of Manchester.

The once called noisy neighbors are now topping the league and are now one of the most formidable clubs in Europe. They have won the league four times in the past five seasons; what an incredible achievement!

The tide has changed. Formerly, it was Manchester United dominating, but now it is Manchester City.

Perhaps, twenty years ago, Manchester City's fans never saw themselves topping the league consistently as they do now, but it is happening.

In real life..

I'm relating the situation between the two Manchester clubs to other areas in life. In life, there is time for everything. Just like Manchester United was once the one shining, but now it is City's time to shine.

Some people often see their friends or family members achieving success; and they get envious, jealous, and depressed. If you are the type of person who does that, you should better change your ways.

It is the time for that friend or relation of yours to shine and you shouldn't have an ill feeling about it, rather you should be happy for them.

What you should do

You should keep on doing the right things and ditch those things that might prevent you from achieving success. Learn from those on top and admire to achieve or surpass their greatness.

But, don't ever get jealous; that would only make you want to undermine your fellow brother or sister. Such an act is a devilish thing to want to do.

Celebrate and respect people achieving success, because one day it would be your turn to make that achievement.

Don't seek to bring your fellow brother or sister down, but rather ask them how you accomplish their achievement. Do away with "Crab Mentality" because it brings about no benefit.

Remember today you might be nobody or feel useless like how Manchester City was previously viewed and regarded, but tomorrow you can achieve a lot and be the best like Manchester City is doing now. Don't give up.

Take every chance you see to better yourself but don't ever try to cut corners to success. If you try to cheat your way to success; you might achieve it. But it would only be a temporary success.

Wait till it is your turn!
