Hello friends 🙋! It's been a while here. To my friends on strike, I hope you are still optimistic about resuming very soon. Not to worry. Just make good use of this time and you won't regret it. To my topic for today, you have started schooling. It will not be a thing of joy for you to just end it in the middle just because of some negative circumstances. You must not give up. In whatever you have started, make sure that you finish it.
For many people, starting a project is not an issue but finishing it successfully is the problem. Parents feel accomplished when their children graduate from college. In contrast, parents are disappointed when their children turn into "professional students", students who never graduate. Uncompleted projects do not give Joy.
The USA supreme Court ruled that Alexander Graham Bell was the inventor of the telephone because he finished the project which others left uncompleted. Of the many inventors who attempted the project before Bell, Philip Reis came closest to success. However, he did not know that he could transform interrupted current into continuous current by turning a particular screw one quarter of a turn to succeed. Bell did and succeeded.
Finishing projects demands faithfulness and diligence. Whether you are a student, an apprentice or worker, be committed to the task. To avoid uncompleted projects, always seek council when needed and pray in faith about every challenge. God will bless your efforts as you put in every efforts to finish your academic programme.
Have you drafted any interesting and informative write-up? Finish it and publish it. There is no need delaying. You have started it so, finish your work before another writer will come up with the same idea.
As a finalyear student, have you given up the project work that you have already started? You have started your academic programme from 100level. You ought to finish it completely and receive your results in time. It may be because you have a very strict supervisor who is making unnecessary demands. Don't abandon your project. pick it up. It is when you finish successfully that people would want to listen to your story.
Resolve to finish every project you embark on. Pray to God to see you through all projects.

Don't throw away your most precious possession into the rubbish bin of life.
What is the most precious possession to you?
Is it money? Is it house? Is it material possession? Is it political position? Is it personal profit? Anything we can think of? All these are temporary and they will pass away with time.
If it were possible to gain the whole world, it cannot measure up to the worth of your soul. The soul of man is the greatest possession. You have a soul and that is why you can move around and that is the most valuable possession. All the things we gain on earth, we are going to leave behind. The money, the wealth, the prosperity, the interaction, the connection and anything on Earth, that we have, we are going to leave behind. And on that final day when we are to leave this world, the only thing that can never pass away and we cannot leave behind is our soul.
This is what we need to think about. We are here to prepare for eternity. How can we prepare our soul. To be ready we need to make our soul valuable. If we are not walking on the narrow way to heaven, we need to be restored. Anything that will hinder our soul from spending eternity with God, that soul must be purged and purified.
We need to be saved and keep our salvation. God expects that when anything that will take away the nature of our salvation, we should deny ourselves, carry our cross and follow Him. Self denial means saying no to sin. To deny something means saying that you don't know anything about it like Peter denied Christ.
What it means to deny self.
To be deaf to self.
To disobey self.
To discipline self
To dominate self
To diminish self
To constantly die to self.
Everyone has a cross to bear. Grace, faith and prayer endure anything.

Some people achieved great heights earlier in life than others but it should not cause inferiority complex. All human beings are not endowed equally with abilities or intelligence but all can achieve their God-given potentials.
An Indian Indian boy, Tathagat, a physics finished high school at age 9, BSC at age 10, MSC at age 12 and PhD at age 21. He is a genius an early starter. Winston Churchill, a late-bloomer failed three times in high school but became a great historian and successful prime Minister of Britain.
Whether you have an exceptional IQ or an average one, God did not create you in vain.
You are His child and you are for signs and wonders. Many great achievements made in the world came from men and women who work diligently and perseveringly; it was not just being early starters. According to Thomas Alva Edison, "Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration"
You have your area of genius which you should prayerfully discover, cultivate and use for service to God and humanity. All fingers are not equal but all are useful. Don't delay. Aim to do your duty.

Happy last Sunday of the month. Bit by bit, we are gradually getting to the end of the first half of year 2022. How do you feel now? Do you feel you feel you have achieved most of your goals? If not, you need to invest the remaining you have positively.
Pandita Mary Ramabi (1858- 1922), was an Indian lady. In her time, young girls were given to early marriage and religious isolation, with no access to education. However Pandita's father provided the opportunity to formal education. She grabbed it and proved to be intelligent. At age 12, she had memorized 18000 verses of the Hindu literature. Pandita maximally utilised her exposure to formal education and the Gospel of Christ. She was converted to Christianity early in life and it established the first Christian high School, kindergarten schools and other mission centres. She translated the Bible into her mother tongue. Pandita Mary Ramabi was an outstanding achievers who positively impacted on her generation.
Dear reader, are you in school or learning a skill? Are you making the most of it? You have been given opportunity by your parents. Like Pandita, you can excel if you follow the path of discipline. Shun all youthful lusts and distractions. Concentrate on your studies and invest your time profitably. Surrender your life to Christ, live for Him and you will excel and impact your generation positively.
Time is a treasure that any person cannot afford to meddle with. Seasons and times are not under your control but you can control how you use them. If you fail to do certain things in a given time or season, you may miss them forever or achieve them late and at the expense of the time meant for other things.
On time, Billy Graham said, "if we refuse to use each day's deposits, our loss cannot be recovered. We cannot hoard time so that we can spend it another day." Poor time management can affect your academic progress and other areas of life.
A person who habitually wakes up late in the morning and instead of observing his prayers, choose to watch a television program, look through the internet, make phone calls or send text messages as a priority, will miss a refreshing fellowship with his creator. You must Pray daily for Grace and guidance. Spend time to read because when you stop reading, you stop growing and leading. Read the Bible, academic books and other good literatures.

There are lots of challenges and troubles here on Earth. We have so many problems in this world that we believe that after accepting Christ, all things will be rosy and easy. But, it is not so. Christ said in this world we shall have many tribulations but we should be cheerful because, He has overcome the world. He has said that He e will make a comfortable place for us in all troubles.
He said we should not allow our hearts to be troubled. We should believe in Him and in His Father. We have so many aspirations and we think God has forgotten us because we are not getting it quickly. It is not so. We may think others are making it now but I want you to know that God's time is the best. He makes all things beautiful for you in His own time.
The word of God says we should seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all other things will be added unto us but, many people today are seeking other things thinking that they will repent later. They say they want to enjoy the benefits of ungodliness first before they turned back to God.
But my dear reader, do you think that God is a fool? Do you think he is a small boy that he doesn't see all the motives behind our actions.
He said he is preparing a place for us and come back to take us there. You can imagine if the president of our nation singles you out and says that he will give you an accommodation, a thing you don't deserve. You can imagine the kind of magnificent house he will give you.
What's an honor. Now, God has singled me out. He said I am a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar person. He said he is preparing a place for me. What else do I want if not to do well with my heavenly father in eternity who can give me everything I want? I only pray for Grace to stand in troublous times in order to be with Him at last in eternity.
It might not be easy living in this world and seeing many others who are prospering through wicked ways and getting away with it but I want you to know that as the bird sitting on her eggs and hatchet them not, so is he that gets riches but not by right. He will leave it in the midst of his days. So who will eventually own the things that he has possessed.

This is a favorite song that is sung by many kids.
In every life endeavour, excellence is valued. Pat Rilly says that "excellence is the gradual result of always striving to do better. A 20-year old Nigerian girl, Osareme Anita Omonuwa from Edo state, surprised many when on July 3, 2013 she bagged a first class degree in law at Reading university in the United kingdom. She also became the first black woman to receive the prestigious Chancellor's award of the university in 2012 for outstanding academic performance. The Chancellor described Anita as being, representative of our brightest and best students."
Anita's academic record has been excellent right from Kindergarten to high school levels in Benin City, and now at the university level in England. Though very intelligent, she could have drifted into waywardness and crime like some other girls thereby missing excellence if she was not disciplined.
"Students who excel academically, read extensively" wrote Dr Ben Carson. Think always of excellence in academics, Christian life and ministry like Paul the apostle. God delights in excellence.

Determination to make it in life is a firm resolve to do well, no matter the barriers in the way. It is an indispensable quality of any student who wants to succeed.
A young boy or girl who wants to do well must have single-mindedness and willpower. He must single-handedly pursue his or her goal to a logical end. Nothing stops him.
A student of success is confident that no cloud can put out the sun, nor can darkness in the night stop the dawning light. He believes that in his hours of darkness, God will shed light on his way.
Are you such a determined youth or are you easily discouraged by difficulties and disappointments? God wants you to do succeed. He has made provision for your all-round success . Today, you can rise from weakness to excellence. If you are determined to succeed, every challenge should increase your determination to soar higher like the eagle.
Remember that determination to succeed without Christ is a mirage. Surrender your life to Christ today and you will harness miracles of success. Even if you are a backslider, overcome by evil habits, this is your moment of restoration. Repent now!

Ancient Rome was steeped in a culture so proud and so immoral. The proud were placed to high heavens. There was no word of humility or meekness in their language. The normal Roman life was to project one's image, display one's brute strength and prove to others they were inferior. It was a display of power of the high class over the lower class. They were the ones in government. The poor had no say and were maltreated.
Pride, lust, sensuality and wickedness ruled the day. These vices eventually brought the Roman Empire into ruin.
Not much has changed in the world today. The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life still govern the world. Many people have been brought into it. Many people place themselves above others in a way that others will feel inconvenienced. They reduce the self-esteem of others and make them feel worthless. Christ principles of meekness, humility, gentleness and self-denial are considered outdated and therefore unpopular. But those virtues remain the unmistakable evidence of a transformed life.
As you go out today, make up your mind to refuse to be governed by the principles of the world. You must choose to work the narrow way of personal heart holiness. You may seem to walk alone but, no, the master works by your side. Christ praises you even if men don't.
It is enough that the disciple should be as his master.
Like Rome, we have numerous examples of Nations that have fallen around us. We should be watchful not to place ourselves above our master. We should be like Him in words, thoughts, actions and belief.

A saintly heart and a rough look are a great contradiction.
Few days ago, someone experienced what I would be talking about today.
He was in a religious gathering, few days ago. It is not any particular denomination. After the service, one of the brothers sought permission to pray for this person that had the experience of identity crisis ( let's call him John). John said when he entered the gathering in the beginning of the service, he saw a brother who had a particular haircut like those of Yahoo boys, if not worse. John said he was skeptical about this brother's appearance. After seeking permission to pray for John, the prayer did not go well.
In short, this brother later said that his appearance does not matter and that he has his commitment to God.
I don't understand the kind of commitment that a pperson would say he has with God when his appearance does not look like that of a child of God. When the Bible says in the book of psalm 24 that who shall dwell in the hill of the lord and the answer was a person that has a clean hands and a pure heart. So, how will someone tell me that he has his own commitment with God and that his appearance does not matter. Let's take a look at the example of Moses after he left Egypt.
The last thing Moses would have wished was to have been called an Egyptian. He abhorred and shunned everything Egyptian. Yet, Jethro's daughters described him to their father as an Egyptian. Although his whole heart cried out for his Jewish heritage, Moses was Egyptian both in appearance and accent.
The same identity crisis is suffered today by many youngsters who are heavenly in heart but worldly in appearance and in language. Ever before you utter a single word, your appearance has already spoken volumes. And, sure enough, the way you dress is the way you will be addressed.
The Bible speaks of their parents of a harlot in Proverbs 7:10. Whatever that means to in your own culture, it is far from the expected dressing of a heaven bound saint. If you have Jesus dwelling in your heart, you must not misrepresent him by wild dressing, punk hairdos and corrupting slangs.
Ask yourself before you leave your room, "would Jesus approve of my appearance?"

Praying giant
E. M. Bounds 'On Prayer' reported the testimony of a young man, told by professor James in 'Varieties of Religious Experience'. It says: "God is more real to me than any thought or thing or person... I talk to him as to a companion in prayer and praise and our Communion is delightful. he answers me again and again, often in words so clearly spoken... Usually a test of the scripture will unfold to me some new view of Him..., His love for me and His care for my safety. The knowledge that He is mine and I am His is an abiding joy".
This testimony fits the admonition that we ought always to pray and not to faint.
Dear reader, how is your prayer life? Is it similar to the experience narrated above?
Some years ago, the testimony was shared about a child who distributed snacks to her playmates. There was a born-again child among them who while praying before eating the snacks fell off her hand so she could not eat it. After many years, the girl who gave out the snacks confessed that those who ate her snacks were initiated into witchcraft cult.
PRAYER as a weapon will protect and prevent the Christian children from evil. Prayer is a Christian way of life. PRAY for everything pertaining to your life, other people, the nation, the church and our world. Pray in the name of Jesus, with the power of the holy spirit. Pray without ceasing. Surely, God will answer your prayers.
How you need to pray at all times, over all things and in all situations! Jesus began his ministry with prayer and ended it with prayer. 'Pray without ceasing' should be taken seriously. Prayer based on holiness can never fail to receive answer.
Before you start a school day or any household chore, discipline yourself to wake early for profitable prayer and study of God's word. It will give me the strength for each day. Jesus practiced and taught his disciples the importance of prayers. Daniel, Paul and Silas triumphed by praying. There will be no limitations if you too will pray.

Forget worry and fear

A survey found out that 85 per-cent of things most people worry about are things that either never happened or have already happened or things over which we have no control.
Worry is fear exaggerated. it welcomes trouble before it comes. it's constantly drains the energy God give us to face daily problems and to fulfill our many responsibilities. It is therefore an unnecessary travail.
A woman who had lived long enough to have learnt some important truths about life, remarked. "I have had a lot of trouble -most of which never happened". She had worried about many things that had never occurred and had come to see the total futility of her anxieties. Worry never dries a tear; worry never calms a fear; worry never pays a bill.
The popular acronym FEAR means false experiences appearing real. Holman Bible dictionary describes fear as a natural emotional response to a perceived threat to one's security or general welfare. Fear differs in degree of intensity from a sense of anxiety or worry to one of utter terror. Fear is positive when it leads to appropriate caution that guides one's welfare. Negative fear incapacitates, resulting in inability to engage in normal activities of life.
There are reasons that can make people fear. There is fear of the unknown, including fear of academic, career and economic prospects. Everyone wants to succeed in life but entertaining fear of failure may hinder this expectation. Christians should not fear. We should by Faith, cling to God's word and his promises when confronted with difficult challenges.
Satan, the author of fear is a liar. Refuse to entertain his lies. The Lord is with you. You are a success because God has promised not to leave you nor forsake you.

Teaching and learning by examples impart knowledge that is difficult to erase. The sitting, eating and talking habits in a community are readily perfected by doing as others do. Gideon had no time to explain all that is faithful 300 soldiers would do at the theatre of war. They won the battle decisively because they followed instruction of doing as their leader did.
As a young boy or girl, you too can win the battles of life if you follow the exemplary deeds of your godly leaders.
One of the easiest way of catching up with a subject is to diligently listen to and observe your teacher. Then follow his instructions. If you are an apprentice, technician or seamstress, your master has a peculiar way of handling tools. Do not imitate many masters at the same time. Be very safety-conscious in the laboratory and workshop.
Sometimes, many students give their attention to distractions during lectures and even extend the same at the church sermons. Poor performance in examination is tied to lack of concentration. Today, develop the right attitude towards life and you will begin to experience breakthroughs.
Working smart is about intelligent planning, focus, timely action identifying and seizing opportunities. You may have heard that to be successful you have to work hard. Hard work is good but not enough you also need to work smart.
"Wisdom is profitable to direct" hints at this important truth. Not working smart is like the case of a woodcutter who is using a blunt machete or axe . To make any meaningful impact, he needs to employ so much energy and yet, it will take him a long time to cut the tree.
To avoid such wearisome labour, you need to sharpen your "tool" by wisely setting goals and priorities; as well as avoiding distractions. This is the path to progress in your academic career.

Cheating during examination is widespread in many parts of the world. The enticement to partake in examination misconduct is making children of God to be more uncomfortable than ever before. Christians must not join in this evil practice. As the children of this world are becoming wiser in inventing sophisticated methods of cheating, children of the kingdom must commit themselves to working hard more than ever before.
ALWAYS remember that you are different from them. Let your mates know your stand on righteousness. Refuse to partake in their misdeeds and be ready to damn the consequences. Prepare well and study very hard to avoid the temptation of seeking for unlawful assistance in the examination hall.
PRAY before and after each examination because a kneeling Christian is the winning Christian. Put in your best. Trust in God's promises after you have done your best and rest on his word. Watchman nee said "I never met a soul who has set out to satisfy the Lord and has not been satisfied himself".
*You Can Beat Them Don't Join Them*
Pray for spirit and courage of Daniel to stand.
Take the lid off your life. OVERCOME your limitations and don't allow your limitations overcome you. Majority end up their lives in the area of average, only a few are record-breakers. You can be counted among the record-breakers if today you will devotedly followed the lofty goals you have set.
Have the 'I can' spirit. Have a winning attitude. The world is waiting for the emergence of the godly youngsters that Daniel who will join the class of those that can prove to this generation the possibility of becoming ten times better.

Here she continues her explanation.
She said we have been in a relationship for a year now and that we have vowed to keep ourselves and never allow sin between us.
`I lost my virginity at the village outreach!`
My pastor was dumbfounded. I was shocked. She was weeping like a baby. "Why would you let this happen?" I asked.
She said she was alone praying in the church on the day we planned to fast when the pastor's son came in. He brought hot tea for her due to the cold night but she rejected it. John then asked if she didn't trust him. He said he was now saved and that he wasn't the person that they knew before. She drank the tea after much pressure and that was the last thing she knew. She woke up on the church floor the following morning.
She tried to remember what made her to sleep in the church and she remembered John came to give her hot tea and she realized John had his way with her.
I stood up and left the pastor's house, though his wife was calling me back. I was so emotional. I went to my house with tears welled up in my eyes. I ought to be at my hospital but I had to call one of my personal staff to take charge.
I lay on my bed thinking. I was ruminating on how it would have happened in the church that night. Our wedding is just in two months. I kept thinking for more than two hours. I could neither eat nor sleep. I was thinking about my next line of action; whether to leave her or accept her. I eventually slept around 2am without making any tangible decision.
I woke up by 6am from a dream. The dream was about the wedding between Joyce and me.
I began to think again and I realized two things.
The first thing I realized was that Joyce is a very truthful and sincere lady.
The second thing I realized is that for her to have opened up this secret, she will never hide anything from me in our marriage.
Joyce has a very unique spirit. She is a rare gem that I must not miss for a wife. She is one in whom there is no guile. I decided to see my pastor to inform him about my decision. He apologized for what happened and John has not slept in the house since the incidence. I told my pastor I would like to go ahead with the marriage. He was surprised. He called his wife to join us and she was astonished too. I explained my reasons and they supported me and prayed for me.
Before I left their house, I called Joyce to tell her to meet me at our pastor's house but the phone was just ringing. My pastor called her and she picked. He told her to come and she arrived in thirty minutes.
She was surprised when I told her that for me, what happened that night *never happened.* She was silently weeping again. Then she said;
`I can't do this. I have promised myself to keep my pride for whomever God will bless me with as a husband. But now, it's gone. I know you love me and you have proven it times without number. You also told me how God helped you to escape temptations even as a young man. I know you have been praying for a woman that has not been deflowered for a wife. Just let me go... You deserve the best. I LOVE YOU AND I WILL ALWAYS DO!`
I think she is ashamed of herself but I don't know how else to convince her. Please, I need your advice.

I am a medical practitioner, a medical doctor to be precise. I attended the best university in town because my parents could afford it I graduated with first-class I was retained by my university but I wanted to further my studies so I spent only two month to work with them before finally leaving after I finish my education and established my old hospital and employed many qualified workers.
It was time to get married. I prayed and God led me to Joyce from my place of worship. I told her about my feelings for her and after some months, she agreed to marry me. Preparations began in earnestafter our introduction.
John is the only son of our pastor. He is a very wayward boy. He was excommunicated from the University after spending three years to study law. He has been at home since last year. His parents are fed up of his bad behaviours but they have tried all their best to no avail. Even in church, he puts on his earpiece and doesn't take to corrections.
There was a village outreach organized by the evangelism committee. Joyce was part of those assigned to go for the outreach. I was assigned too but I was on call so, I wasn't able to go. My pastor's wife suggested that John also go for the outreach just in case, God might save him there. It was just for three days and they hoped he wouldn't disturb.
Joyce and I had a particular day when we fast and pray for ourselves and our future home. It happened to be the second day of the outreach. Joyce promised to pray in the village church so she won't disturb other brethren who will sleep in the room. The outreach was successful and they came back.
I called her in the evening to ask if she was back but I noticed she was weeping. I asked her why and she couldn't say anything. I went to her house to see her but she didn't tell me the reason for weeping and then I suggested we go to our pastor and she agreed. When we got our pastor's house, he asked what I did to Joyce that made her to be crying but I told him that I was amazed too.
Mummy even suggested if she will want to talk to her privately but she shook her head. Pastor suspected I have done something but I told him she has been crying since she came back from the outreach. It was then she stood up and knelt before me. She said she is not worthy to be my wife anymore and that this relationship has to end. I opened my mouth in surprise. My pastor's wife then called called her to sit beside her and explain what she means.

*What you give is the contribution you have made to a life.*
One best way to express your love to people around you is by giving. God loves the world and gave his only begotten son. Jesus loves the world and he gave his life. This exemplifies the importance of giving our best when the opportunity comes to give.
You may not know the blessings in giving until you begin to be benevolent. The giver's hand is always above that of the getter. The need of your brother opens an opportunity for you to give. Learn to give when you have and when you lack.
*If you give to God, you will not reap the exact amount of what you have given, but more. Giving should be done willingly with an open and generous heart. God is faithful; and giving is a venture of faith.*
Giving can be illustrated with a farmer who gets seeds to plant on his farm. The act of planting the seed is called giving/sowing. Many are yet to enjoy the great blessings that come from giving because of how they give.
Is it more blessed to give than to receive? This question comes to you today. Choose to be a giver. The law of God stipulates that it is the quantity you sow that you will reap. so that they may reap get us do not enjoy the blessings of giving but those that give us do.
What you give is the contribution you have made to a life. Nothing brings blessings than giving. Give generously to show God kind of love. Generous people are great people. Liberal people are loving people. Benevolent people are blessed people. Begin to give bountifully from today to reap God's blessings of giving. Give and it shall be given unto you.

A man set up a business in his country and handed over its management to another man. Six months after, this man paid back the original capital to the owner of the business. The owner was excited that the manager had made a lot of gains too surprised . However, the man who was supposed to be his manager said: "I have paid you back your capital. Now I am the owner." It turned out that the manager had changed all the papers and converted the business to himself.
It was a very sad incidence. The owner trusted the manager wholeheartedly but he betrayed his trust.
When the eight plotterssurrounded Julius Caesar and began to attack him with daggers, the stab of Brutus was the most brutal and the most painful. He was heartbroken. Brutus was his closest and trusted friend. It was very painful.
King David suffered the same fate in the hands of his trusted friend and counsellor, Ahithophel, who sided with absalom, David's son to wage war against his father.
Nehemiah could be described as a faithful man that feared God greatly and he was already the ruler of the province. He built the Lord's house faithfully. Everything that was entrusted into his care was properly managed.
Can you be trusted? Can you watch over money, car, children or property? Can people keep their money and valuable assets with you and be safe? Be careful! God watches everyone's faithfulness. Be a shining light in the midst of darkness. We shall reap the fruits of our labour.

What you say, you will see and what you see, you will experience. You can't find yourself in the future you don't see today. Your Resurrection out of the negative situation you are now is connected with the word of your mouth.
What you hear is different from what you see.
we have one mouth and two ears which means listen more and talk less. Some die as a result of their tongue and some live as a result of their tongue.
Tongue is also a weapon of mass destruction and war. People destroy their marriage with their tongue. The power of death and life is on the tongue.
There was a king who was at the point of death but he spoke with his tongue to the one who created him and lived.
Tongue is the hope of families, friends and career. The distance between you and success is the distance between the length of your mouth and heart. Always be mindful of what to say.
*You can change your world by changing your word.*
Young people are known to want to make comments on everything they see. They are excited at new discoveries like "a funny look", size, shape of head, facial expression, nose and big mouth and teeth and so on. Some often misbehave at such sight; forgetting that the people were made by God and should not be object of idle talks and ridicle.
They are ignorant of the fact that we are made differently and beautifully too. They talk about everything and it was the same attitude that was manifested by some children who ridiculed a man and got themselves into trouble. A man was passing by a particular street. He was bald headed. Some children were playing and when they saw him, they began to laugh because of his bald head and they paid dearly for it with their lives.
You should be very careful of what you say about the people you meet in your day-to-day endeavour. Remember that God has not appointed you his commentator! Therefore, keep your mouth shut to keep out of trouble.

The importance of listening with rapt attention and full concentration for proper understanding cannot be underscored in the process of learning for academic success.
Development of good listening skills may facilitate assimilation and promote success in our academic pursuits. To ensure effective listening and efficiency in assimilation, I have to overcome wandering thoughts, daydreaming side talks and every form of unwholesome practices that are common with thoughtless students. Rapt attention to the teacher with particular concentration on the points of discussion aids my assimilation and understanding of the subject matter. While careless students engage their minds in issues that deviates from the subject of the day, ambitious learners are always focused and forthright.
Effective listening is very essential to good assimilation. My mindset must be disciplined to focus on the subject of discussion in the class at all times. It is quite essential to discern sense and meaning in what is said and to take note of verbal and nonverbal gesticulations of the speaker.
The more I understand and assimilate in the course of studies, the better for me to achieve success.
Retentive memory is a valuable asset to every student for success. This refers to the power of retaining, recalling and reproducing mental or sensory impressions that were assimilated during the process of learning. This process comes up in stages during teaching-learning activities. The common complaints of most students as regard reading and forgetting can be overcome through the principles of retentive memory below;
I read thoroughly and study clearly the knowledge contents to understand the materials I am learning. The more understanding I have, the longer the knowledge stays with me.
I analyse the contents of my learning by looking into it carefully. I make efforts to link the new information with the existing knowledge.
I portion the new materials into manageable parts that are relevant.
I rehearse aloud and repeat the information over and over to register the contents in my mind.
I make facts, key points and main ideas vivid and clear in my notes.
I use mnemonics to register the main points -like MR. NIGER and ROYGBIV to remind me of the characteristics of living things and seven colours of the rainbow respectively.
I review and revise my notes regularly.
Memory is given by God and can be retained.

`You may never know you can do something until you attempt to do it.`
A common attitude of people to difficulties is to quit when the going gets tough. It's always a convenient option to pick: to give up, to give in, to quit or to get on in any fight or flee challenging situations. People will rather give up and quit than get up and be quickened when they are bombarded with troubles and failure. This is because the natural man abhor difficulties and pains; and we prefer to quit than to continue in success battles when the going is getting tough.
People that usually ***give in*** to problems are quick to ***give up*** and cannot ***get up*** to ***get on*** in their life pursuits.
It is wise to get up as many times as you fall on the track of success and never to give up. You are not a failure until you accept the suggestion to give up.
It does not matter whether you were born of literate or illiterate, educated or uneducated parents. What matters is the attempt you make to succeed in life.
Everybody achieves in proportion to the attempts he or she makes in his or her he academic endeavours. Your achievement in life will be proportional to the attempts which you made on great challenges. The greater the goals you set for success, the greater the challenges and the subsequent achievements.
You cannot break the records of great achievers by attempting simple tasks of the common scholars. Your achievement will surely depend on your attempts.
Every good venture in life has it's trying times. Trying times are tough times which never last. To give up at such times puts you in the camp of cowards and not in the company of the champions. Be an exceptional student; don't give up in trying times however challengingly difficult the situation may be.
The best way to make progress on success journey is to rise up each time you fall and move forward. You've got to think big and plan so. Someone advises, "shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among stars".
Most students relax in the valley of mediocrity simply because of the limit they place on their ability. People who attempt the impossible always achieve the incredible.
Don't live your life in the prison of impossibilities. Begin to attempt seemingly impossible tasks. You will finally discover that you can do all things through Christ. Never give up when you fall or fail. Always go for the option of the champions:

Today is the resumption date for all schools in my state. My mid-semester break is also over and I'm back to school. So today, let's discuss a very interesting and important subject that is feared by many people.
Mathematics is one of the basic subjects offered by every student in the secondary schools to prepare them for an entry into tertiary institutions. This subject deals with magnitude and numbers, the relation of figures and forms and with the expression of symbols and concrete data. All science oriented courses depend on a good foundation in mathematics, the subject that most students try to avoid. Every student however can be a mathematician if there is willingness to overcome their fears and prejudices developed through past misinformation. You can do well in mathematics if you dare to master its concepts.
The problem with most people is that they give up too soon. Many people who would have been distinguished in their various careers end up in mediocre class because they give up. Many doors of opportunity remains shut because those that are knocking, give up too soon. Many people who ought to be exceptionally skillful and competent are below-average just because they will not endure. I was once in a battlefield with mathematics but now, I'm an overcomer.
It must be clear to you that in the journey of life, the road to excellence is only for those who have learnt and have imbibed the virtue of persistence. They are the people who have learnt to hold on when others are letting go. If you try and do not accomplish, you should try again and again. You should realise that the next blow of the axe may be the next one that will fall the tree. You do not to give up too soon. In prayer, do not give up too soon, in your study, do not give up. You read and read again until you have mastered what you are studying.
It pays to persevere and the the result of the efforts is around the corner. Very soon, you will receive the reward of your labor. So, the first approach in mastering mathematics is to change your negative attitude and your hostility to this subject. You must begin to develop a keen interest in it without any bias. Follow up your interest in the subject through a quality time of solving problems in mathematics.
Learn to study the given examples to your understanding before attempting the sums in the exercises that follow. Mathematics is best mastered through constant practices. Do not be ashamed to ask questions from the students who know more than you in this subject. Cultivate the habit of working sums with serious students to gain more skills in solving mathematical problems. Never give up until you get solution to any question in mathematics. Make a resolute determination to master this subject. You will soon realise that mathematics can be your best subject.
There is nothing impossible to a willing heart and those who persist eventually possess. My experiences with this subject was not funny at all. But in the end after few years of not giving up, I passed. All you have to do is never to give up and pray.

*Why do you have to visit every time?*
Why do you have to visit often? This is my thought right now. There is this person who got close to us. He is not a member of our family. He is just a friend and he has helped us with some things. He has been coming to our house frequently. I am ok with his visits because we get to discuss some things and also with my dad. He has helped us before in a lot of ways but his visit these days his wearying me.
I'm sorry please. I may be wrong in the way I am feeling but please tell me if I am wrong. Three days ago, he came to our house around 6 p.m. It was already getting dark and I was cooking a delicious meal. I'm sure he perceived the aroma because after I finished cooking, he asked me to serve him. I did and he thanked me for the meal and left. Throughout that day, I didn't eat breakfast because I was fasting and I broke with fruits. I was looking forward to eating correct food for dinner but as I served him, I knew my dinner was affected because I didn't prepare any extra food. That night, I served every other person's food while I ate few spoons. I believe that I did it for God so, I'm not complaining about that.
But today, he is here again. He has been around since 2:30 in the afternoon. I welcomed him and served him fruits. My siblings later came out to keep him company while I got myself busy with other things. The time is almost quarter to 7 p.m. now and he is still in our house, discussing. I feel he has overstayed his welcome. Spending a few minutes in a person's house is enough for a visit unless you are invited by that person.

Life at its best is very brief. Though people say life has three stages: the morning (prime), afternoon (middle age), and twilight (old age), there is no guarantee that a person would live through all the stages. Life can terminate at any time, any stage and any age. Some people die, even before they are born; some die in their prime and some die in their old age.
Whatever time, age or stage one dies, the truth about life is that it's transient. As the psalmist puts it, life is just like a flower or a blade of grass-lush, blooming, flourishing this moment, and suddenly fades away without a trace the next moment:
*As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field so he flourisheth. For the wind passes over it and it is gone and the place thereof shall know it no more. psalm 103 verse 15 to 16*
James also compares the ephemeral existence of life to a vapour or steam. It is steaming this moment and disappears the next moment:
*For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. James 4:14*
The short lifespan of human leaves you as an individual to grapple with two essential questions: Have you accepted Jesus as your Savior and ready for heaven? And are you using your fleeting days to please Him? If your answers are not in the affirmative, no matter what your age is, you need to pause right now and consider your eternal destiny.
Because life is short and may terminate at any time, you must live every moment of your life with eternity in view. Live as if today were your last. Never make this mistake of thinking tomorrow is all yours. All you have is NOW! What you do with your life now largely determines where you will spend eternity. Live for Jesus and enjoy eternal bliss in heaven or leave Jesus out of your life and be doomed forever in hell. What is it going to be?
Your life is fast running out and you are standing on the brink of eternity. Give Jesus a place in your heart right now before it is too late! The scripture enjoin, *seek the Lord while he may be found, call upon Him while He is near, let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thought and let him return unto the Lord and he will have mercy upon him, and to our God for he will abundantly pardon Isaiah 55:6*.
Make haste now, repent of your sins and spend the remaining part of your life wisely to serve God and humanity. Remember,
Our vigour is fleeting; our best years are brief,
Our youth passes quickly- time's over a thief;
But hope yet becomes us-death's sting holds no power;
We have a Redeemer-an unfailing Tower.

I watched a movie some days ago and I have come to realise that all things work together for good to them that love God.
A couple, Mr and Mrs Jones (not as used in the movie) were seen as good examples of a godly home by many people. Many wished their homes would be like theirs. They lived comfortably. Mr Jones traveled on an official trip for a week. On the day he arrived, the wife l prepared a very delicious meal for him. They ate together and retired to bed. That night, a gang of armed robbers gained entrance into their house. The wife was on the bed while the husband was in the restroom. The husband came out of the restroom and he pleaded with them no to hurt his wife and him. They requested for the papers Mr Jones was given during the trip. The documents were for his company. He handed it over to them and one of them raped his wife in his presence.
Since then, Mrs Jones became irritating to her husband. He hated her so much. He refused to talk to her. He didn't eat her food either. The wife was badly wounded. She kept crying all the time. She kept pleading with him to tell her the offence she has committed. She even wrote a letter and put it on top of his food for him to read it. He squeezed the note and refused to eat. The wife informed her pastor and the husband was called. He said his wife didn't commit any offence but he just can't live with her again.
He resolved to file for a divorce and he left the house. He left a note for her which made her heartbroken. She went to his office and she discovered that he was on leave. What happened was not the fault of the wife yet, the husband wanted to divorce her .
It was later discovered that Mrs Jones' boss, Mr Charles, wanted to have an affair with her but she refused. On the day that Mr Jones ought to arrive from his journey, Mr Charles put a charm under the chair for Mrs Jones to sit on. The repercussion was for the husband to die immediately he slept with his wife or his arrival from the official trip but, it was the armed robber that slept with her. The armed robber died. The boss made this confession himself when he was attacked by the herbalist. The husband later came back and apologized. He said he realised that he thought he loved his wife before but it was only when things were fine that he loved her.

FORGET YOUR FAILURES
Forgetting the past and having foresight for the future should be a constant exercise of success aspirants. Man would not be stagnated with a weighty iceberg of problems if he remembers more of his gains than ruminating on his loses. Recalling the failure of yesterday, more often than not, will distabilize your faith for today and destroy your foresight for tomorrow. Never disturb today's prospects with yesterday's problems. Do yourself a favour and free your mind from the luggage of troubles by taking off your heart from the mistakes of the past so as to move forward with a bright hope for your future.
It is quite common for human beings to easily remember the negatives and quickly forget the positives. Human mind seems to have been conditioned to count the hurts more than the love from his or her fellows. Man tends to remember offences more than apologies blunders more than benefits and or criticisms more than compliments.
What do you remember most of the time. Avoid remembering the negative. When you remember positive things, they will soothe your heart from stress and strengthen you to achieve success.
*PASSION FOR EXCELLENCE*
The desire for excellence is in line with the nature of God. Passion is the thing within us that provides the continual enthusiasm, drive focus and energy that is needed in order to accomplish set goals with a fulfilling result. Passion is linked with purpose and those who are passionate are purposeful, enthusiastic and eager about their work. They start from somewhere with a mission to realise their vision.
They love what they do because it gives them fulfillment that they are on the right tract of life, even though what they are doing may look difficult and challenging at the beginning. They stick to it because they have their eyes on the end results. They always move ahead because they always ask themselves the question "why am I doing what I am doing?" Such an attitude makes them to scale above distractions as well as satisfaction with mediocrity.
This attitude always seek for better ways of doing things and will not be satisfied until the best is accomplished. Have you asked yourself the question"Why am I doing what I am doing?" recently? A honest, sincere and true answer to this question will surely turn you around to face the path of excellence. Excellence comes from vision and commitment. Think right: think on positive things.

Hello! How are you doing? I know you all had a very good bath this morning, a very fresh one. Nevertheless, as you have read from the title of my write-up, CLEANLINESS, I will be a bit practical and it might be funny.
It is a beautiful thing to be clean because it brings honour to God and to ourselves. Cleanliness starts with the cleaning of the mouth and the washing of our bodies. Cleanliness leads to good health and good health is possibly one of the most important things in life. Every other achievements or possessions in life become totally insignificant when a person is not healthy. When we are sick, no other thing in this life makes sense or is of any interest to us. All we desire is to get well soon.
Cleanliness is next to godliness. Man's desire for food, shelter pleasure, clothes and other needs are conditional to good health. Productivity and achievements of goals are crucially dependent on good health. Everyone needs good health to function optimally and achieve excellent results. Cleanliness is the trademark of the godly.
*HOW CAN WE PRACTICE CLEANLINESS*?
Regular washing of our clothes and cleaning the surroundings are marks of decency. It indicates how orderly we are and how concerned we are about our health. Uncleanliness dishonours God. it breeds offensive odor and it is an indicator of a disorganised lifestyle. Cleanliness facilitates healthy-living, keep germs that cause diseases away and enhances productivity. We must therefore cultivate the habit of cleanliness. As much as possible, avoid wearing clothes that are dirty and stained with sweat. Clean and brush your shoes regularly. Clean your mouth early in the morning and at least before you sleep at night. It is also expedient to clean it after each major meal.
Sweep your rooms regularly and arrange your clothes and other materials orderly. Avoid throwing things around everywhere. Demarcate where things ought to be and ensure that they are put there. Always remember that a clean surrounding and a clean body will lead to improve healthy living. START IT TODAY!

Many years ago, there lived a king. He was a great and powerful King. He was a militant and he had fought and won many battles, even as a young boy. His courage and bravery were part of the qualities that made the people to crown him as their King. He was not from the royal family. After he was enthroned, he fought and overcame all the cities surrounding him and had peace.
There was a particular war he ought to follow his servants to fight together but since he had trained his servants very well, he decided to stay at home and relax. The houses that were built for Kings at that time was very tall and the bathroom people use then was the one that clothes would be tied around some wood while the roof will be opened. The king was moving around his house when he saw a beautiful married woman taking her bath and lusted after her. He told his other servants who did not go to war to search for the woman and bring her to him. He slept with her and she became pregnant.
In order to cover up his abomination, he sent for the husband to come back home from the war and go home to his wife without any tangible reason. This woman's husband was patriotic and he slept at the King's gate, refusing to go home. He said he could not go home when his mates were fighting on the battle Field. When the king was informed that he didn't go home, he called him and gave him a letter to give to the captain of the army. In the letter, it was written that this man should be killed and he truthfully delivered it to the captain without knowing the content. This man eventually died in the battle and the king took the woman to be his third wife.
Some years after the woman gave birth to a baby boy, a prophet went to the king and told the king the story of a rich man who had a very large cattle and there was another poor man who had only one ewe Lamb. One day this rich man had a visitor. Instead of him to kill one of his fat cows, he took the poor man's lamb and killed it. This king said that the rich man deserved to die. The prophet said that the king represents the rich man and that God was unhappy with him for committing adultery with another man's wife and killing the husband. The prophet said he(the king) would die. But the king quickly pleaded for forgiveness.
The prophet then said that the king would not die but the boy that was born would die. The king began to fast and pray from that day. The child eventually feel sick. The servants told the King to rise up and eat but he refused. After some days, the child died. The king then rose up, took his bath and ate his food. When the servants asked him why he did that, he said, he was playing perhaps God would have mercy on him and not allow the boy to die. But since the boy eventually died, the king admitted that he accepted fate submitted to a higher authority, as that would be the punishment for his sins.

The bees are busy flies with purposeful mission. They produce sweet Honey which is good food for man and animals. Butterflies are busy too, flying all about but they have nothing to show for their being busy here and there.
It is not all the food we eat that make for growth but the little amount digested passes to the blood stream. Academic life is not different. A student may be busy here and there following wrong directions. Only a profitably busy schedule, based on goal oriented activities can make us successful.
The human nature tends to love pleasure more than pains. Young people would prefer relaxation in recreation to the rigour of reading and dining in delicacies than daring difficulties on the way of progress. Youngsters who love relaxation and sleep cannot exercise themselves to the task in rigorous reading. Students who like to take it easy will find it very difficult to go extra mile in persisting to realise their goals of success. The scholar who is given to leisure will give up too soon on the way of success.
If you want to succeed, you must check your daily routines. How purposeful and profitable are your activities? Are the events that occupy the most part of your time of any advantage to your life goals? Find out if the time spent on physical exercises, visitation resting or relaxation, discussions and other interactions are more than the time spent in reading and studying. It is a useless exercise to be a busy body instead of working to achieve something purposeful in a day. A detailed analysis of how you spend your days will help show the reasons for your busy schedule.
Precious stones are not found on the surface of the Earth. Successful miners usually dig deep before gold is mined. Great and difficult tasks result in great achievement, if only you can persist. Great achievers of old have been people of purpose who will not give up despite the difficulties on their way to success. You've got to be brave and valiant in your success pursuits. Be a champion. Champions are captains over challenges but cowards are cowards.
Ensure a quality time is spent daily to pursue your career goals just like the bees. Have a purpose for living. Let your actions work towards your target. As you go out today, do nothing that is useless and wasteful. It is a common saying that he who fails to plan has already planned to fail. You must always plan for progress. A well-structured timetable is needed where you will spell out when and what to read. Proper preparation precedes progress and prosperity. You can only prosper in your academic endeavours when you plan your work properly and make it fit before taking actions on your plans. BE WISE LIKE THE BEES.

An appreciating spirit is a sign of good conduct and attitude. Such attitude always attract additional benefits. It is expedient that I develop this attitude as a way of life because with it, I respond to God's goodness in my life, family, nation and ministry. At whatever point in my life, there is always something for which to be grateful unto God.
The deliverance from the foolishness and negative effects of my sinful life, freedom from afflictions of the wicked one, answers to prayers in times of sickness, trouble, distress and fear, and the gracious salvation from eternal destruction in the lake of fire should elicit spontaneous gratitude from the depth of my heart onto the great God of heaven and earth.
What will I say of the wonders of his creation which are daily manifest in the air, on land and in the deep. The whole realm of nature, as beautifully made, are all under his firm control. The sea waves and stormy ocean move at His command and all creatures therein. All I can say is thank You, my maker. The heavens and the Earth proclaim Your majesty. I bow down in worship. Here then is a challenge. People may not appreciate God but I ought to do so. Many people pray to God only when they have problems to solve. They forget all the marvelous things he has done and begin to tell God the next problem to solve for them. Johnston Oatman wrote in his song:

This is the beginning of a new month and preparation for the future starts with the little steps of today. Today is the tomorrow you waited for yesterday. Tomorrow does not come suddenly; it comes through continual counts of seconds, minutes and hours. So also does the future come around through the little actions taken moment by moment. The ants are wise, they realise when the rains come, they cannot go out, and therefore, they gather their food in the summer. They do this by taking small bits at a time. They use those very tiny limbs of theirs. Do you know you can use the little privileges and opportunities you have today to build a solid structure for your future?
A little smile, a little more effort and perseverance, a little more care for details, a little more self-denial and a little more praying will make your future brighter and better. Learn new skills and improve yourself in little ways today. Remember, little but continual drops of water fill the pot.
See and think beyond the box. Get rid of doubts in your life. Have a dream. Be committed. Be determined despite failure. Start from somewhere. Go and learn handwork. Learn to see opportunities. Search for problems. Wrestle with God. Avoid shutcut. Don't cheat. Don't replace God for success. Don't follow those who have exchanged their souls for riches. Be ready to move with God. Say no to bribery.
That your parents were not successful doesn't make you unsuccessful. Do not wait for a bigger opportunity. It may be too late and never come. Have insight. Insight has been defined as the ability to s ee and understand clearly the inner nature of things. Insight is to go beyond observation to perception. Insight is the next level you reach after you have seen a particular thing. Begin to attempt tasks that are too difficult for common achievers.
Great achievers are those that will think big and attempt stuffs that seem great. You may not know you can do something when you have not attempted to do it. You can actually perform better than you think you can but you end up performing less when you set a limit for yourself. Awakening your skill power. And don't lower your performance. Think big and you will soon discover you can do far better than you thought. You can never realise your skills to jump by limiting yourself to small hurdles. If you cannot attempt the impossible, you cannot attempt the incredible.

George Jones, a songwriter, said, "You can't do wrong and get by; no matter how much you may try; nothing hidden can be, everything he doth see; you can't do wrong and get by". The principle of cause and effect has always been a reality. Those who sow to the wind always reap the whirlwind.
It is a common practice of all. Everybody is usually desperate to say something. The journey of each individual is, "it is my turn to talk". Always a free-for-all affairs, human beings are often given to talk, talk, talk and talk. And so, the burden seems lightened after the talking, anytime, anywhere, anyhow and to anybody. But you should do better today than just to talk. You should control your tongue.
It is very amazing to know that life is also in the power of the 👅 tongue. This life we keep when we keep our mouth. We learn a lot when we listen to others. We profit our spiritual and social life more when we speak only when it is necessary. Learn to talk only when you have something good to offer. Learn to talk to God more and less to man.
One summer morning, in the 1920s, a Scottish man stood idly in London's Trafalgar square. As he watched, an obviously well-to-do American began admiring the statue of Admiral Lord Nelson and the column it rested on. Struck with a sudden inspiration, he put his remarkable selling ability to work and sold Nelson's column to the American for almost 30,000 dollars. He went on from there to sell the famous London clock, Big Ben to another American for $5000 and took $10000 yet from another as down payment on Buckingham palace.
There is danger of deceitful men in society. Ungodly people can be easily recognised by the rashness of their tongues. They speak false and proud words to mislead and oppress the unsuspecting and simple people in society.
The world is full of deceit. Many people behave what they are not. The activities of deceivers and fraudulent people who collect advance fees from unsuspecting people are so rampant that some countries have enacted special laws to bring them to book. It has become dangerous nowadays to trust people especially strangers. Many people have lost their valuables and even their lives while trusting people they met and did business with on social media.
Deception starts from the heart. The mind of the unregenerate is a reservoir of evil. You must expose the earth to the undiluted word of God and the precious blood of Jesus for cleansing before any change can occur.
