The Philippine Government calls for single identity right now that is called Philsys. Many of the Filipino already registered to it, but still confuse what is it for. Few stated a self-proclaim truth that we will be the payment of the country's debt. Some says it will be a card for government monetary found or subsidy like 4'Ps. Others says it has no use and just waste of time because they already had other Identification card, such as voter's, TIN, Philhealth, PRC and many more. Why still implement it? If this is not necessary anymore why did the Philippine Government calls for it? What is it? What is the purpose of it? Is it benifial to us? How? And in what way?
What is Philsys?
PhilSys or Philippine Identification system is taken from The Republic Act No. 11055, otherwise known as the Philippine Identification System Act. Signed into law by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte in August 2018.
It is necessary for us to learn about it as a Filipino, because it is for all our benifits and advantage. For us not to conclude wrong ideas better to learn from it and understand what it is.
What is the purpose?
It aims to establish a single national identification system for all citizens and resident aliens of the Republic of the Philippines., the valid proof of identity provided by the PhilSys shall be a means of simplifying public and private transactions, and shall be a social and economic platform that promotes seamless social service delivery and strengthening of financial inclusion for both public and private services. As a foundational digital ID system, the PhilSys will transform how services are delivered and accessed in the Philippines, and accelerate our transition to a digital economy, including to enable presenceless, paperless and cashless transactions.
The PhilSys is envisioned to:
Make services more accessible
PhilSys will be accessible to all Filipinos and its credential will be accepted for most transactions. It will provide access to financial, social protection, health education and other Government services;
Promote ease of doing business.
It will provide a platform for the Government and private sector to identify and verify their customer in a digital and automated manner both in-person and online transactions;
Enhance the integrity of services and reducing fraud.
PhilSys will uniquely identify each registered person at a national scale with high-level of assurance, eliminate identity fraud and strengthen integrity of functional identification registries;
Enable and promote participation and trust in digital government and the digital economy.
PhilSys should enable to broader transition to digital, online citizen-centric service delivery by Government and the private sector; and
Empower Filipinos with greater control over their personal data.
The PhilSys will give PSN-holders the ability to determine who sees what data about them when carrying out transactions using the PhilSys, it will contribute to greater transparency and accountability for how data is used in the Philippines. A foundational digital ID system, like PhilSys, will contribute to nation building. It will enable the Philippines to move away from inefficient and expensive physical documents, processes and credentials to the use of digital equivalents.
My perspective
Isn't it advantageous for us to have a single identity card for your citizenship? For me it is, and I am looking forward to have mine. It will surely give services in a less hassle way unlike today. Paper works will be lessen and the services will be directed to you. Specially money matters.
For me this single identity card that the government imposed is benitial, in a way that when giving of monetary fundings and subsidy the money will be directed to us and will not passed through different filthy hands of politicians. We all know that the government issued and allocated huge amount of money especially for this time of pandemic it even calculated for all of Filipinos but what had happened? It was became a way of corruption for it could be manipulate through the paper works being processe by filthy hands. It not just happens ones or twice we are all aware of that. So, why against the government implemented solution to such problem. Since one of the flatform of the President is to cease corruption with all best, so let us support this new system. It maybe not the full solution of it because corruption doesn't end, and filfthy hands always crawls for ways, but at least lessen the problem.
Whenever I here people feared of so many ways of their own articulated, biased reasons that I also respected because I know that they just need enlightment, I always explain to them and erase their worries. I believe that this system would bring betterness to our life as a Filipino. Let us be positive and be hopeful for a better system.

Meh, I don't know. Whatever ID it is, it will be useless in the face of corruption in our country. And you say that there will be less hassle in doing transactions? I don't think an ID can do that. We're all fond of redundant systems. Example, you are renewing your IDs, passport license, with all those, we are already registered right? Why do we have to go through lines, fill up forms, over and over again? That's just stupid. Here's my ID, it even has chip, or barcode, for what? In theory, all you have to do is, scan the old ID, check for any updates, smile for a picture and you're good to pay and go.
