Food for the soul: Mary the blessed woman

August 15,2021 I draft this "food for the soul" article of mine but I wasn't able to finish it and publish within that same day. Today, August 16, Monday, I continue this draft and decided to publish it even if it's kind of late. Well, "better late than never" as the well-known quotes goes. So, here I am.

My deepest apology to all of my sponsors and friends here for not publishing, reading stories and interacting with you all for I had experience flu for the past few days. Yes, I promise to be here yesterday as much as I love to but I wasn't able to because my body would suggest the opposite. I hope that you would still read this and ponder something all through out the week.

I, myself wasn't able to attend the holy mass because of the constant coughing that might disturb the whole silence of the holy mass. This will feed my own soul too.

Holy Gospel

Luke 1:39-56

Mary set out at that time and went as quickly as she could into the hill country to a town in Judah. She went into Zechariah's house and greeted Elizabeth. Now it happened that as soon as Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the child leapt in her womb and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. She gave a loud cry and said, 'Of all women you are the most blessed, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. Why should I be honoured with a visit from the mother of my Lord? Look, the moment your greeting reached my ears, the child in my womb leapt for joy. Yes, blessed is she who believed that the promise made her by the Lord would be fulfilled.' And Mary said: My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour; because he has looked upon the humiliation of his servant. Yes, from now onwards all generations will call me blessed, for the Almighty has done great things for me. Holy is his name, and his faithful love extends age after age to those who fear him. He has used the power of his arm, he has routed the arrogant of heart. He has pulled down princes from their thrones and raised high the lowly. He has filled the starving with good things, sent the rich away empty. He has come to the help of Israel his servant, mindful of his faithful love-according to the promise he made to our ancestors -- of his mercy to Abraham and to his descendants for ever. Mary stayed with her some three months and then went home.

Reflection

Yesterday's gospel talks about the blessed woman, Mary, mother of Jesus who carry him in her womb. She visit her cousin Elizabeth who also carrying a son in here womb. Elizabeth's son jump inside her womb in so much delight as she was visited by the mother of her savior. With so much joy she proclaim the goodness of the Lord and how blessed Mary because of her son. This gospel not just only talks about Mary alone but also all the mother in the world who carry their sons and daughters with their womb. All the women out there, who are blessed to be given the chance to concieve and give birth.

Let this gospel be a reminder of how important the role of a women in the society. The importance of a mother in the house, and their sacrifices. And a good example to all the lady out their to be like Mary who allow the Lord to be the anchor of her life and follow whatever the Lord's will for her.

To all the woman out there;

Mother and wife

You are blessed for accepting the will of the Lord. For accepting your purpose and living the way the Lord designed you to be. Be brave for the Lord is with you. Be blessed for you have the power to nurture the gift that everyone wanted. Love your family, pray your family and let the Lord be the center of the family.

Single Mother

You are blessed for accepting the motherhood and it's responsibility. For choosing love over rejection. For choosing life over abortion. For choosing condemption over good reputation. For choosing heaven on earth than conscience in hell. For the child that you chose, you chose God. Be strong and courageous. Continue to live out what God design you to be, a nurturing mother.

Young ladies

You are blessed. Never question your purpose, your worth and how God design you to be. Live with it, enjoy it. Love yourself. Allow God to be the center of your life. Be like Mary who follow the Lord and His will. You are precious in His eyes. Remember you are important just like Mary. For without woman in history the word of the Lord would not came into flesh. Stand firm for you have lots of challenges that would shaken your faith. Never allow the worldly label blinded you of the true meaning of love. Pray for it. For true loves comes in the Lord.

To all the men out there;

Husbands

Love your wife. Cherish them. Understand them. Be the one who will protect them when storms try to destroy your home. Be with her in sickness and health. When love seems to fade never abondon her. Rekindle those feelings through the things that become the reasons of why you love her in the very first place. Remember a woman is like a flower, they will give you beautiful flowers when they are nurtured and watered .

Young men

Value young woman like you value your mother. Put efforts on pursuing them because they are worthy of everything you are about to spoiled them. Showered them with lots of love and assurance. Never let them feel insecure and question their worth. Remember they are God's gift to you. A woman is from your own rib. Remember how God's take out Adam's rib to mold into a woman to make a man not alone in the paradise? Then, never forget the value of a woman. A woman is someone who would be on your side, to be your partner on facing the challenges in life -sickness and health. If you don't see the woman to become your partner in the future then never play with her heart. Young men anchor your love with the Lord in order for this love to dwell and last.

Love might have many faces nowadays, it might get as confuse but let us remind ourselves of the love that Mary gives to her son Jesus. The love that Mary gives to the Lord. No buts no trade. Just pure love and obedience. Just like Mary we will be bless.
