What is service? When is the right time to serve? Is there any qualifications to be able to serve?

Hi beautiful people of read.cash community. I hope you are all doing great, especially to my sponsors. Be bless everyone.

Today I attended a seminar for the parish pastoral for responsible voting (PPRCV) election volunteer. As an active member of the church I dedicated myself to serve in the community especially that I have no busy schedule at that moment so I said yes to God's calling. Yes, being a volunteer is a God's calling, it's a service towards the people without expecting in return. We started the orientation at 9 in the morning. The host of the orientation asked us about the meaning of service, when to serve and if there will be any qualifications for a person to serve? That is why I want to asked you the same questions.

What is service?

For me service is doing something for the good of others. An act that does not look for any return. According to the host, I am correct. And asked me what's the difference between job and service? I could ponder the difference and we all couldn't answer. So, he told us that job is doing something for your own good, finding job to earn and buy things we needed especially food that makes us able to survive. While service is the opposite because service don't have compensation, yet will require us to do some job for the sake of others.

When is the right time to do service?

The host then asked us this question. And the answer will be there is no right time because it's every time. Yes, it could be anytime. Whether we are a student, an unemployed, a business owner, old, poor, anyone. There's no age in doing service. If we say I can't serve because I'm busy, then when will be the time that you are not. You can if you want. If you say you can't because you are still studying and don't have the means yet then you still can't when you will have work and have means because you will be busy. When you want to serve you, you can. Let's not wait if we get old because we don't know if we could. We can serve in little ways we could. To serve doesn't only means doing big things. It could be small things everytime and it could be bigger in time.

Is there any qualifications?

No, there is no qualifications to serve. It could be anyone. The previous question is related from this question. Anyone could serve whether a student, a business owner or whoever it is. You could serve in your own little ways. You have the power to contribute. You could help others not only through money. If you will say, I can't do anything because I am still a student and have no means then when you have the means you won't have any time because you will be busy.

Conclusion

Therefore let us serve anytime, everytime whatever we have as a disposition in the society. Let us listen to the calling of our Lord because to serve others is like serving the Lord. It is expected from us. Let's not put second thought in serving. Let's not hid our talents inside us. A talent that is given by God. Yes, whatever we have right now not just talent but so as blessings are God given. Therefore we must give back to him as much as we could through service. Through the church. Through other people.

That would be all for today. Thank you for reading. God bless.

Writer's note: I am sorry if I publish this article just this morning cause I doze off to sleep last night without clicking the published button. I was shocked upon learning it this morning yet I couldn't do anything so I do what needed to be done today. Thank you for your understanding.

I was called by the Lord when I was in 11th grade. That's the time I started to serve and converted into born again Christian. I am so happy and my heart always full of joy and compassion to people. When you serve Him, you also serve His people.

I agree with you sis that there's no qualification in serving God as well as to the community or of our fellow.

Service never ends, as long as we are alive and able to do things, we can still serve. Service is also a form of showing love for humanity by serving them in simple way we can.

Like helping, it doesn't have qualifications. We can all help regardless of our age, social status etc.
