Why There Are Still Questions About the Covid-19 Vaccine

The covid vaccine has been a popular topic of many lately and while in my opinion, it is a personal choice to receive the shot, there is a lot of confusion as to why it isn't stopping the virus. Let me explain.

The covid-19 vaccine is meant to protect against the virus, but there are a lot of controversial questions and answers involved as well.

One of the most asked questions on a lot of minds has been, why is it when those who received the vaccination were told yes when asked if they had to continue wearing the mask?

Interestingly enough, many businesses do not even require a mask to enter their doors. Masks are only a recommendation, so the yes we are still required to wear our mask as an answer could have a lot of mixed feelings. What many do not realize is that those who do not wear a mask may actually be exposing themselves to the virus again, and it may not even be the same strain.

Another interesting thought in question is, why are we being told that we cannot fully open businesses in many states even after the vaccinations are given to owners of businesses, their employees, and customers?

The answer is, many businesses are already open and running without limitations. They do not require masks, again only recommended and they do not follow the social distancing guidelines as they did at the start of the pandemic.

We are also being told the vaccine may or may not be resistant to the covid virus. So many are wondering, what good does this do if it's not? Does it prevent us from at the very least giving the virus to others? Another question asked if we get the vaccination, does it mean we can stop social distancing?

Unfortunately, the answer seems to be no, but that doesn't stop most businesses from being open or serving their customers, 6-foot guidelines or not. It also doesn't stop most families from visiting one another, aside from those in nursing facilities.

Many were also concerned that if they received the vaccination, would that mean handwashing could be stopped?

What the world does not realize is we should be washing our hands, virus or not. It makes a person wonder, just how many people in our world are disinfecting our hands when preparing food, after using the restroom, and so forth.

So I guess the real question is why are we really being asked to get the new vaccine for the covid-19? The answer seems to be in hopes that we will be protected against the virus, even if it's for a short amount of time.

Yet there is still no guarantee that the virus won't mutate as it already has, or that the shot will protect you against a new strain of the covid. There is also no guarantee that you won't experience adverse, long-term, or life-threatening effects from taking the vaccine.

So the reality is, the covid-19 vaccine does not seem to make us immune to nor eliminate the virus.

Even if we take the vaccine:

  • We still could get the covid virus, pass it on to others and possibly even die from it.

  • We still do not have the freedom to go anywhere in the world,

  • We still do not have the opportunity to see a concert live or visit a business that has been permanently shut down due to the covid-19 virus.

So what's really going on then? It may be a question we will be asking ourselves for a very long time. The one question that remains on everyone's mind, is the covid-19 vaccine really worth getting? I'll let you decide.
