On A Quest To Love-1
Moses was one of the most brilliant students in his school. He had a group of seven friends, they were the brightest in the school. Moses, Precious, Mohammed, Adams, Femi, Emmanuel, Samson, and Prince. They were like brothers, and we're in their final year in high school. They were all perfects . In fact Moses was the Assistant Head boy, while Samson was the Head boy. Moses was loved by almost everyone, they would say he was the only different person among the brilliant students. Moses was respectful, social, brave, and always acted like a mouthpiece for the struggling students. So they loved him. There was a lady in his class called Righteousness. Moses has had a crush on her for a very long time now.
Righteousness was an easy going lady, she has a soft, tiny and unique tone which makes her noticeable whenever she speaks. Her tone, whenever Moses hears it, sends him into the wilderness. She and Moses were friends but not so close. They studied together with his seven famous friends, Righteousness was friend with Precious and Femi. Moses admires her a lot but he never told her how he felt. Moses friends had their crushes too which they do talk about whenever the guys were alone. Luckily for Moses, none of his friends had a crush on his girl at least for the time being.
Their final exam wad fast approaching, Moses and his friends prepared very hard, their teachers had high hopes on them. Perhaps one or all of them would ace all their papers. Moses and his friends became tutors to other students, they would organize classes before assembly, during lunch and after school hours. There was no loose-guarding , so none of them thought much about their crushes. A week to the final examination, Moses had become closer to Righteousness by teaching her he had found out few things about her, mostly her hobbies and her view on various topics including love. Moses felt this was is time to tell her how he felt but he was just so naive and he couldn't do it.
Their final examination came, the West African Senior School Certificate Examination WASSCE, and everyone gave it their best at most. They began awaiting their results as the school planned their graduation ceremony. On the day of the graduation, Moses, his seven friends, and other graduating students were present at the hall. The boys were allowed to pick their partner on their way into the hall. Moses looked round but couldn't find Righteousness, so he waited. At last! She showed up, late. It was unlike her to come late to an event. Moses politely requested that she be his partner in the hall, and she nodded. The ceremony didn't last long but Moses found time to ask Righteousness about things pertaining to relationship, and she replied in the most reasonable and courteous way. They took pictures alone, and together with his seven friends; Femi, Mohammed, Samson, Adams, Emmanuel, Precious and Prince. Later that day, Moses shoot his shot. He told Righteousness how he felt about her, and asked her to be his girlfriend. She replied surprised, and didn't give Moses a reply. She requested for some time to think about it.
Days passed and Moses kept checking his phone for her message but nothing came in until later. She sent a text saying she has agreed on trial. They started dating. They bonded rapidly and were always communicating. Months later their results came out,, Moses made his papers, some distinctions and painfully his girlfriend Righteousness failed one of her core papers Mathematics.

I can't sleep. I just can't sleep!. It's a cool atmosphere, and I can see the stars shinning bright in the sky as well as the waning moon.
Guess I'd have to do my nagging all alone in silence.
As a well grounded realist, I don't bulk myself with unnessary things and most especially stress. God knows I hate stress, we all hate stress.
When it comes to making goals and planning towards an event, I do it cautiously, and I try to make it very simple.
I had five ultimate goals this year which are:
1. Get a good grade at school
2. Become closer to God.
3. Elevate my business
4. Build my app
5. Balance my love life.
I'll tell you what I've done so far pertaining each goal.
#1 I did try very hard to get a good grade in school, but rather than improve I had the worst grade In my entire career, a lower credit. My last CGPA was at distinction level. Coming into the new year, I have had a hint of what could deny me my achievements, and that was my #5th goal of the year. I had a relationship in school, we had a break up few weeks to exams, and it took away all my energy. I had no joy to read. I did read but the passion was gone, so I struggled to assimilate, I lost appetite. I lost me. Looking back now, I think not getting an F or a carry-over is a fair accomplishment. My only regret is letting myself down and my family.
#2. Become closer to God.
Dear Lord, please forgive me for all the sins I've committed either knowingly or unknowingly. I ask for your guidance and mercy upon me. Don't let me go astray God. Please help me. Well deep down, I've not been as close as I had hoped to be but making that effort every single day is a real progress. God knows better.
#3. Elevate my business.
I co-founded an interior design business last year, so making sure it doesn't sink was a real deal. Thanks to the pandemic, I had all the time in the world to work on it, and there was little progress. I brought in a new team member to help ease the work load on my partner and I. She's savvy and understanding. Although the lockdown restrictions didn't allow us get much offers but internally there was progress.
#4. Build my app.
I had a picture roving in my head, it was more about the SDG pertaining to food and healthy living. I wrote down my idea, got a developer but we were never able to translate the idea into something productive. He said it lacks some qualities of which I haven't find out.
#5 Balance my love life
I totally agree with whosoever said that love is blind. Emotional intelligence should be something each one of us take very serious, and I've not had a really good year because of it. I got heartbroken at the beginning of the year, that was crazy. Now I realize that balancing my love life and other relationships should have been my first goal of the year. All humans are made from one form of relationship or another, likewise the opportunities we get in life. One great lesson I've learnt this year is being emotionally intelligent. My love life is still not balanced but it's not as complex as it started, and my heart is stronger now.
Despite the fact that I had 5 simple goals for the year, I screwed up almost everything but rather than saying I failed. I didn't totally fail, I had made efforts, countless efforts, the discipline, the commitment, the shame, the loss of appetite, the lack of passion, the whole stage took a lot of energy, I'm not proud but I'm happy that i gave it my best shot.

Little White Duck
We bought her last week, i so loved it. The way she quacks and walks puts a smile on my face.
We gave her food, a cage, a home. We brought her into the family but unfortunately this morning we lost her.
Perhaps she died of cold or something else, whatever that is i dont know. It's a mystery I'd have to solve.
I notice she wasn't eating her food for some days now, and I can tell why. I personally fed her but she wouldn't eat. It pains me to see animals die especially those that are special like my little duck.
What do you think could have led to her death?
Is it the cold weather?
Or the food?
Or the change of environment?

December: The last weeks of 2020
The world would never forget 2020. Never ever! From disrupted goals to a pandemic outbreak, from a pandemic outbreak to living in cage, from living in cage to living in stigma, from living in stigma to adaptation, from adaptation to finding a vaccine, from finding a vaccine to elections, from elections to policies and slowly we are at the end of the year.
Personally there's only one thing I haven't done on my to-do list for this year. What about you? Have you been able to achieve that long list you call New year resolutions. Maybe, maybe not.
Majority of us are just waiting for the year to end.... I salute the front workers during the pandemic, you guys have never let us down. You never rest, while we are thinking if waning you're thinking of waxing. Some of us really want to wax but each time we look at the disrupted year, calenders, and events, we find it difficult to choose where to start from. Where do I start? Is a FAQ that comes up each time people talk about 2020. Now the year is sluggishly going to an end, and I bet you if you're unable to achieve just one thing this year, if you're unable to achieve one of your goals this year it would hurt for a long time because we had all the time in the world during lockdown to be productive but our mindset was stiff then.
So just like the moon, if you choose to wax or wane during the last weeks of 2020. I do hope it adds more purpose to your life ♥️

The Lost Mangrove
About three months ago, my family moved to a new home built within a Mangrove community. I so love the sight of nature in the area, ranging from bird species to squirrels, porky pines, monkeys and some creatures I've never seen in my entire life. As we speak the lives of the species in the mangrove are being threatened.
I learnt someone bought all the swamp and has ordered his workers to cut down all the trees in the swamp😣💔
I write this in grief as to what could befall this area in coming years. Climate change is a no brainier, it shouldn't be toyed with. My protest is all in vain, though I've seen what the changing climate has done to millions of lives and properties, and I strongly hope that our activities as humans shouldn't endanger other species in the ecosystem.
If you're an investor, a contractor, a government official, an environmentalist or someone who just love nature. I do hope you never back down on your idea to keep sensitizing the people in your locality about the dangers of tree falling, burning and other environmentally harzardous practices.
Discarded Education
Structured and flexible education should be fundamental in every country for the betterment of the human race, because education is "***a one in a million weapon***"
As at today, the West African Examination Council has conducted it's annual examination and thousands of public school students failed. I asked myself how come? They had months to prepare...Why did they still fail? As a Nigerian student, I already had my answers the moment I asked myself those questions. Majority of the public schools lack a proper teaching curriculum, since I graduated from secondary school in 2016 nothing has been updated in the syllabus. They students are being taught the same thing year-in year-out. You can't progress if you don't change, you can't match the global standard if you don't update the curriculum.
Aside the curriculum, the students I see nowadays lack the zeal to learn. They'd say it's not fun, it's boring, they teach them stuffs that aren't useful. I partially agree with them but like Aristotle would say " ***when the student is ready, the teacher would appear***" Technology is here to stay, giving all these excuses this era only shows the unseriousness and a deep hole in the Nigerian educational sector.
The poverty stats in the country is still quite high (about 68%) but three out of five households have a smartphone. With the issue of strike always hovering in the air, the new-normal in the society is to fend for money. Money for general upkeep, money for your family's needs, and money for personal needs. This new normal is widely practised in Nigeria, and has lead to the intimidation of youths to join secret societies and the forever increasing population of cyber fraudsters popularly known as "***YAHOO BOYS***"
Yes! Internet fraudsters!
I saw young students between the age of 8-20 wasting their previous time trying to find a client online, clients they call ***MAGA.*** I saw a 12 year old, telling his parents he needs a smartphone that he wants to find a ***maga*** . I couldn't believe my ears, I was shocked and pained as to what the society is turning young Nigerian students into, I strongly know that it has to do with peer group intimidation, although the country has been in jeopardy, and there's hardship but it should never be a reason for you to endulge is criminal act. Stealing, swindling, kidnapping, and other sort of negative acts are never a bold step in pursuing your dreams or success. You're only making your life and the lives of those around in mess.
It's high time a change is made in the society, it's time to put an end to all the cyber shits you and your friends are doing. It's time to make your life peaceful, it's time to write your wrongs, it's time to clean the country you've messed up.
It's time for change.

The Making: 54 Battalion
The title might sound crazy to almost everyone reading this article but the title makes me reminisce about how the soldiers at my alma matter disrupted the students protest in 2018.
Something similar happened a few months ago, the bloody #ENDSARS protest spread like wildfire around Nigeria forcing businesses, schools, and the economy to shut down again💔
I was home, everyone was home, except for those who went out to protest. My family had just moved to a new home, we had only spent a week in the new environment when the protest began. The environment is a mangrove swap with distinctive creatures showing up each time, from fishes to reptiles,. birds, amphibians, monkeys and so on.
My little sisters and I began picking snails in the surrounding, they said they wanted to keep it and raise it. So I helped them out. During that period we had picked 54 snails which we do feed every day. Rearing snails is quite easy and fun😀, the animals don't disturb at all. They only make silent-sounds (if you're not watching them you won't notice the sound they make). We feed them mostly vegetables and some grinded cereals. The kids hope to see them grow bigger by Christmas, and as I speak they're doing well.
I named the snails 54-battalion because we found them days after a battalion was ordered to kill innocent protesters at the Lekki Toll gate in Lagos. May their souls rest well♥️
What's the first thing that comes to your mind whenever it's getting dark?
Shadow: The Creature In Us
While I was a kid, I was always scared of the dark just like other kids. Only few of us could step out in the dark. We hated it! It made us shiver, and cry. Since then til now, some questions still ponder in my heart about **The Creature In Us.**
Those days my granny would say, when it's dark I should never look at my shadow because it makes one scared. Each time I defy her words in the dark, and I take a glimpse at my shadow thanks to some light rays generated by the street lights. I do freak out, and I run for my dear life (chuckles).
I think it's either psychological or its a phenomenom that kids are scared of dark, and probably their shadows.
Our shadows are a reflection of our true self, it's crazy being scared of your own image either in an inverted form or in a weird manner (mostly upright).
The only time we get to appreciate **The Creature In Us** is whenever we're depressed or lonely, then our shadow appears and that period we get to communicate with it, and further appreciate it's existence.
Why do you think people look at the mirror?
Some take long stare at a mirror like our savior is there, or a wise-one would appear before us and solve all our problems but no the only thing that appears before us is **The Creature In Us ,** our inner-form (our shadow). What appears in the mirror is still us, and a these gets me pondering more about our shadows. How could they be of help to us, why have they been created, why do kids get scared of them, and a lot of why's....

Effect of social media activities on your next job appointment
Please note that this post is based on a true life story.
During my IT days in 2018, I got a gig on twitter from a top laundry company in Lag.
I did apply and I went for the job interview, it was done in batches. We were 3 in the room, then series of questions was thrown at us.
One vital aspect of the interview that got my attention was a research on our social media accounts. The boss had ordered the interviewer to check thoroughly for any discriminating act or post or tweets or images. Anything at all!!!
A lot of people were cut off after this stage, it was a very surprising and insightful experience for me. I would never forget.
Luckily I passed, I was assigned to the post of a receptionist. It was a great feeling. I gained a lot of experience from the laundry.
So nowadays when I see young people of my age posting all kind of erring stuffs on the net, using their social media accounts, I do feel sorry for them because thousands and millions of people around the world are seeing all of these discriminating stuffs. You never can tell who your next boss is, or your next business partner, or your next sponsorship.
With these experience, I'd indulge every youth out there to be thoughtful when sharing stuffs on the net, especially things that are not so cool. I know you wanna have fun but be thoughtful while you joke. The future is there, watching you.

So I woke up quite early today at exactly 4am to be precise. Now I'm beginning to regret it.
I've noticed that whenever I'm stressed out, the first thing that happens is me having running nose and red eyes😪
I've tried taking a nap but I can't sleep ...I hate having running nose, it makes me weak and keeps me away from doing the things i love😥😣
I'll take a break now, and hopefully by tomorrow I'll be better.

My Crypto Experience

Yes! It was Valentine's day, and also the day I wrote my final papers for first semester. It was a bitter-sweet experience due to the Valentine celebration though😪 Man was heartbroken.
>A friend told me about the increasing rate of crypto currency, then I began to show interest.
Weeks later, I joined a smart contract group called million money, where I bought my first ever crypto currency called etherium. It's more like crowdfunding but you need to keep referring people. It wasn't an easy one, and I had to abandon it because I couldn't convince a lot of people to join, they were skeptical...perhaps it was a Ponzi scheme 😅 So I started doubting crypto currency.
Thankfully, In July I met with @Vanjinks my very good tutor and brother. He told me about @Read.Cash and then I signed up. I'm really grateful to you big bro♥️

Food Shortage In Africa
Farming in the 21st century is something I consider to be a huge success. With technology being an highly effective factor, issues like food shortage would be amusing to hear.
**Let me take you to Africa**....
The issue of food shortage has always been present in Africa, the government would do well to remind you of it from time to time. Just like you, I'm always asking myself why? The answer is quite obvious that a lot hasn't been put in place, when it comes to agriculture. Or a lot of time and money has been wasted on irrelevant things that didn't benefit the sector.
The central problem lies in post harvest. Processing and storage of food is a major blow in Africa. After months or years of planting, harvesting and storage is next. How do we store our food? That should be the words the government should say, and not we are running out of food.
>If you fail to plan, you will plan to fail.
Maize can be processed, rice can be processed, tomatoes, plantain, vegetables and fruits. In short every food crop can be processed and should be stored in large quantities.
Africa has a youthful population, with the majority being jobless graduates. Let them handle it, give them a chance. Create a sustainable solution platform for them, let them help you solve your most pressing issues.
Experts from other countries shouldn't be overlooked, in time of need you seek help.
Investment should be made on tech facilities which should be strictly monitored .
Local farmers should be highly trained. This is another major contributor to the issue being discussed. The belief and ways of the farmers should be that they can grow anything with the aid of technology, and not some fallacious believe.
Meteorologist and climatologists should do well to provide the farmers with insightful updates on weather and climate.
Pest and disease control should be adequately managed during the early stages of each crop. You shouldn't joke with those guys, they are disruptors!
Lastly, tax imposed on farmers should be reasonable and most bank should be willing to offer them loan as long as their prospects meets with that of the bank and the government.
I strongly believe that if all of these minimal issues are carefully taken care of, then food shortage wouldn't be our fear...As long as there's no pandemic.

I have hope in the future that lies ahead

✅ Know what counts and what doesn't - There are somethings in this life that are important and a whole lot of things that are not. This rule means focusing on what's important to you in your life, and making positive changes to ensure you feel happy with what you are dedicating your life to. It means knowing, roughly, where you are going and what you are doing. Awake rather than asleep 'lucid living'.
✅ Change what you can change, let go of the rest - Dedicate yourself personally to things you can change, areas where you can make a difference.
If you waste time struggling to change stuff that is obviously never going to be changed, then life will whizz past you and you'll miss it. If you dedicate yourself personally to things you can change, areas where you can make a difference then life becomes richer and more fulfilled. The more rich it is, curiously the more time you seem to have. This is a rule for you, your personal set and about what you can change.
✅ Have dignity - Dignity is about showing self-respect and having quite self-esteem. Almost all successful people have a sense of their own dignity. They don't need to show off, brag about what they have or who they are. They don't need to draw attention to themselves because they aren't particularly interested in what we think.
It is important to show poise, have good manners, be polite, considerate and to be someone others can look up to.
✅ Maintain good manners in all things - You're probably thinking that you have good manners already, most of us believe we do. However, the more you hurry and the more stress you are under, the more manners are likely to slip. All of us, if we're honest, will admit to forgetting to properly express gratitude for something when frazzled by life.
No matter how many small interactions with people you have each day, don't let the manners slip. This cost nothing and yet can generate so much good will and make everyone's life much more pleasant.
✅ Draw the lines around yourself - Personal boundaries are the imaginary lines you draw around yourself that no one should cross either physically unless invited in or emotionally. You are entitled to respect privacy, decency, kindness, love, truth and honour to name but a few rights. If people cross the lines, blur the boundaries, you are entitled to stand up for yourself and say, 'No, I won't put up with this'.
But you have to draw the lines first. You have to know what you will stand for and what you won't. You have to set the boundaries in your own mind before you can expect others to respect them, stick to them.
Setting personal boundaries means you don't have to be scared of other people any more.
✅ If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all - Hadith 15 of An Nawawis Collection "one of the best deed of a good muslim is to say what is good or be silent..."
No matter how horrid someone is, there is always something about them that is good. Your job is to find that good bit and highlight it, speak about it, draw attention to it, same with a situation that seems troublesome.
When asked your opinion of someone, something, somewhere, you need to find something good to say, something flattering and positive. We need to bite our tongue more often and if all else fails and you really can't think of anything positive to say at all, then don't say anything.
This, is what they call an adventure.
In conclusion, try to see each setback as a chance to improve in life. They make you stronger, not weaker. You only get burdened with as much as you can carry, of course the struggles don't come to an end, but there are lulls in- between times- backwaters where we can rest for a while and enjoy the moment before the next obstacles gets thrown our way. And whatever situation you're in now, it's going to change. That's what life is, what it is meant to be; a series of struggles and lulls.
People are more inclined to talking to those who they feel share the same thoughts or goals as them, for this reason, effective communication plays a vital role.
Why do you think people would want to talk to those with whom they speak the same language other than those with different language?
