A yawning, seemingly bottomless sinkhole sits on the Oregon coast near Cape Perpetua, swallowing the unbroken stream of seawater around it. The natural wonder known as Thor's Well is not literally bottomless; yet, it is extremely perilous.
The well, also known as the Pacific Drainpipe, is a hole in the rock that only looks to drain water from the ocean. According to some researchers, the Well began as a sea cave hollowed out by the waves, before the roof collapsed and the ocean sprays poured in via apertures at the bottom and top. Even though the massive crater is just about 20 feet (six meters) deep, it nevertheless manages to offer stunning images.
