The Diary of a Street girl
26th, January 2022.
This is the story of a street girl called Moji.
Moji did not start out as a street girl.
She was born in a wealthy family and had everything that anyone can wish for.
She went to school, she had friends and had a loving father and mother.
But as she grew up, she started to act strange. She didn't like to go to school anymore, and she had no friends. She still loved her family but she would trouble them with her behavior.
She wasn't raised in the street, she grew up and started to work and attend school. In elementary school, she did not get the right education like her other schoolmates because she was always running away from classes. They can read, write and do their homework when they go home after school. But she does not have that privilege because she was not feeling any connections with her family members.
She started stealing things from home, spending time with bad friends and even got involved in drugs. She started using 'mabok' (methamphetamine hydrochloride) because it was cheap compared to cocaine and heroine.
When her father found out about this he kicked her out of the house. Moji's life had become even more complicated because now she was living on the streets. But even at the age of 16 or 17, her beauty remained untarnished.
One day Moji was standing on the busy street and cars were just flowing pass the street. She was standing with her back against one of the vehicles that waited in the long queue in a bus stop and her fingers were on fire. And then someone splashed water on her and saved her fingers from burning.
She looked around and saw people staring at her, they were pointing their fingers at her and whispering among themselves. She didn’t understand why they turned against her like that and they instantly went back to their business as if nothing happened. She kept wondering what was wrong with her which caused some men to be scared of her.
Before she could comprehend what was happening two hefty men caught her from behind and dropped her in a packed vehicle. They carried her to a Correction home where she was checked and made to undergo some cleansing state.
Moji left the Correction centre after three months as a changed person.
The moral of this story is that there's always a room for change. Failure is part of success.
I write this story for those who are willing to fight for their happiness. For those who have lost hope. For those who are struggling with life difficulties. And for those who are making less than $2 a day but still choosing to smile.
Diary of a street girl is a story about Moji, a girl who was raised in a good home, ended up in the street but finally finished well.
