Today is Sunday. This is the day where we are excited to go to church to worship the Creator. The day where our Lord is worthy of all the Thanksgiving. He deserves all of what we have.

In our religion, we used to celebrate Thanksgiving Sunday every last Sunday of every November. We usually held our Sunday service in the church and after it, we head to the beach for the get-together lunch. But before that, we prepared it first with heavy foods that are prepared by the church members such as roasted pig (Lechon baboy), Humba, fried chicken, pancit, and buko salad. These are usually what we prepared for lunch.

But above all else, the spiritual aspect is being prepared as well. It is the most important dish that should be present at this very moment. We usually start our service earlier than the common schedule. We invite a guest speaker for the gospel to be shared with the listeners or with the people who attended the service. It is our tradition to have a guest speaker so that we can hear and listen to different ways of preaching the gospel. We can't withhold that we can compare from our very own Pastor to our guest speaker. But they are still the best. Hehe😁

Right after our service, we go to the meeting place for the get-together lunch which is usually at the beach. Why? Because it has a wide space. We can move freely and maximize our movements. And also it is because after we eat our lunch, we have a short program. There are presentations in every department from children to adults. Mostly, we prepare a dance number or interpretative dance. Sometimes, comical skits or funny acting that is related to Christianity. We seldom present a heavy drama like imitating the past happenings of Jesus Christ. We rarely present a heavy drama where everyone could relate from wicked ways of life to a life that already found Jesus Christ. 😇 Drama scenes are being prepared by the youth department and a song and dance number from the children's and women's department. Such a very enjoyable show and event when Thanksgiving comes.

And now today is the last Sunday of November. Sad to say, we weren't able to celebrate our Thanksgiving today because we were done celebrating it last June this year as a double celebration of the church anniversary. This is the idea of our administrative Pastor. So, we as members of the church, respect his decision to celebrate it as one. And it's okay with us since we are still facing a crisis. Hehehe no problem at all. 😁

I am sharing this with you it is because earlier this afternoon, my sister had invited us to attend their Thanksgiving celebration on the beach. We just grab the chance to celebrate with them. Also, it is free, so we went right away after our service or mass. Hahaha😅

I just missed the days that we celebrate our thanksgiving Sunday as a special day. I reminisce the moments also when I was just a youth member and a youth president at the same time. As I watched earlier the happenings, the youth department presented their talents to God and to all the people who were there. They were never ashamed of who they served. They just want to glorify our God. Their presentations were all amazing and I believe that God is pleased with what they do. Job well done. 👏Hands up to them. Hoping they will continue their serving career and availability to God. Surely, it will never be in vain and wasted. 😃 God is good. 🙏
