A wallflower wanting to be seen.

I was introduced to the world of cryptocurrency, Bitcoincash to be specific, first from noise.cash. I was looking for anything that would help me with my expenses, being the unemployed, locked-down student that I am, when a college classmate, ex co-worker, and a friend, posted about noise.cash and voila!, here I am now, enjoying this platform. And then, from the noise that people are making, I heard about read.cash. I am a bit unsure and not confident enough with myself that I would be able to sustain the need to write as this would be my first time in blogging. It took me 1 month to finally make an account, and here I am, writing this introductory article here on read.cash. Read on and let's connect!

Let's dive a little more about me.

I am Christen Jene from Leyte, Philippines. I graduated with the Degree of BS in Biology from the University of the Philippines, Visayas Tacloban College. My course is supposedly a 4-year course, however, due to the Super Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) and other circumstances, I graduated after 5 years in college. My story about the typhoon and how it affected my education, my family, and my life right now, is for another article here on read.cash. *wink

After I graduated, I worked for 1 year in a government office as a Technical Staff, and this gave me the opportunity to get to travel around the region doing assessments on the marine resources that the region has. As much as I'm loving all the travels and free foods, I had to resign from my job to pursue my dream of becoming a Doctor. And so, here I am, currently a 4th year medical student, in God's unfailing grace, with only a few more steps towards getting that "MD"! Being a 4th year medical student, or Medical Clerks, as we are officially called, we were supposed to be having our clinical training in the hospitals, seeing patients and helping the medical team care for the patients. However, due to the pandemic, we have to make do with whatever learning alternatives available. Come, 2021 when they announced that a limited face-t0-face duty will be allowed, but with full-on PPEs, which we would provide for ourselves. However, with the rising rate of the COVID-19 cases, our in-hospital duty has been postponed indefinitely. We're back to online class, 2.0, and the earliest time possible that we will be on our hospital duty is probably this April. Well, that's less than a week away! Is my knowledge enough? Is my wallet ready? Am I ready? Definitely, not! But we don't want a soldier with an empty bullet, do we? I'm sorry, my rants about medschool should have been saved for another article, or should it be written at all?

Going back to my introduction, I came from a poor family, both of my parents have no jobs with stable income, my mother is a housewife and my father is a farmer. I am the third among the 7 children to my parents. Thankfully, God sustains. All 5 of us have graduated college already with our two youngest still in school. We get by from scholarships and from our parents' hard works. Being in Med school, as a scholar, I decided not to bother my parents anymore with the cost that I had to spend for my studies. However, my savings wouldn't be enough to get me through all the expenses - books, boarding, living expenses, and miscellaneous fees plus the additional expenses that the PPEs would cost me. So here I am, trying out to earn without compromising my studies. And so, my need for extra income brought me to noise.cash and finally here on read.cash.

When I'm not behind my computer or medicine books, I am mostly on our backyard, gardening. I love travelling but money and time won't allow. I wouldn't mind getting dark by swimming, and I am a licensed scuba diver with an expired license. LOL

I also love up-cycling things that are seen lying around the house. I recently made a display stand for my plants from a long-forgotten drift wood that my father has brought home few years ago. I love to see the beauty in the little things. I am kuripot and loves thrifting and doing DIY projects from things available at the house. I love being resourceful in doing my projects as it brings out my creativity.

I consider myself resilient, an amazona, and a strong girl with a soft heart.

I am a wallflower who doesn't want to be the center of attraction, but still wanting to be seen.

That should be it. If I missed some points, which I know there's a lot, feel free to comment your thoughts. I would appreciate it.

Love you Ten thousand!

Nice introduction. I can feel how hard it is to be poor. Yet reading your life story inspire me, that having no money is not a reason not to pursue education. I am proud that 5 out of 7 from your family graduated. Feeling parent hahaha

Thank you for your nice comments. I'm glad to be an inspiration. That's exactly what I was aiming for, and not to come out trying to get pity from the readers.

Anyway, my 2 other brothers who has not graduated yet are still in elementary hehe

Falling in love? That's another story, but I guess I'm not that strong as I perceive myself to be. LoL. I am stingy only to myself, but for others, I am all out open. hehe
