Good morning to all.I woke up in a beautiful sunny Sunday day.I hope you slept well as I am.
Today I want to write you about lavender.
Lavender (from the Lamiaceae family) is an evergreen, strongly branched and densely overgrown shrub. The shoots are four-edged, the whole plant is covered with star-shaped hairs and strongly aromatic. Cross-arranged leaves are simple, striate to oblong-lanceolate and blunt, 2-6 cm long and only a few mm wide, curled at the edge, gray-green above, white felted below and densely hairy. The flowers are bisexual, on 20-40 cm long stalks they grow in groups of 6-10 in apparent vertebrae. The wreath is purple-blue. The root system is very branched, most of the roots reaching 40 cm deep. Lavender is widespread throughout the Mediterranean. It is mainly grown in Dalmatia, Greece, North Africa, Iran and France for the purposes of the perfume industry.
The spiritual significance of lavender
Lavender or lavender is much more than just a fragrant purple bouquet, with a combination of color and scent it vibrates with a very high frequency, on a spiritual level it takes away our feeling of loneliness and abandonment, helps us to transcend.
Lavender (Lavandula officinalis) has always been known for its calming effects. According to a Japanese study, its scent relieves stress. The plant is effective in treating depression, anxiety and tension-induced headaches. It calms and puts you to sleep, it is supposed to prevent fainting. And it has other useful properties - in folk medicine it is used to relieve abdominal cramps, stimulate digestion, relieve bloating and drain bile. It has an antiseptic and antibacterial effect, alleviates minor skin infections, including insect bites and burns. It is an integral part of many cosmetic products, such as baths and shower gels and creams. It is also recommended for women with menopausal problems, in people with low blood pressure the bath improves the general condition and refreshes. Lavender baths have a long tradition - they were enjoyed by the ancient Romans, and in the Middle Ages they concealed unpleasant odors with intoxicatingly fragrant flowers.
Lavender essential oil is used externally, but it is good to dilute it with, for example, olive oil before use. The mixture is then used to massage the forehead and shadows for headaches and stress, massaging the lower abdomen and lower back relieves menstrual pain, and massage also helps with muscle aches. It is also useful as an ingredient in lotions and creams to relieve rheumatism and to clean wounds. In cosmetics, lavender hydrolate (a by-product of steam distillation of lavender) is used to care for delicate and sensitive skin, as well as an antiseptic against pimples, and diluted essential oil promotes the breakdown of cellulite.
Lavender, better known only as a moth repellent plant in cupboards, is poured with some boiling water and a great tea is made. Right now, as I write this, it’s bubbling up there on my stove and filling the entire space with a stunning and relaxing scent. Mmmmm, breathe, breathe! The active ingredients from lavender flowers not only have a pleasant smell, but also have a calming effect on the nerves and intestines, work against high body temperature and alleviate eye and ear problems. It can be prepared in the form of tea or a relaxing bath.
Meditating on the color of lavender, accompanied by its scent, helps to find meaning in life and relieves negative energy. The scent of the essential oil absorbs negative energy from our body, so we use it after showering with salt and apply it as an exfoliator on the body.Essential oils are a natural antiseptic.
