Life is perspective
Some say life is just a matter of perspective. We can see a glass half filled or half empty. It depends on what perspective we see it from. Unfortunately, humans are often not wise in seeing one thing. We only see one perspective and then are reluctant to present another perspective which may be quite significant. As if wearing horse glasses, we just walk straight with one glance. Over time we too can become someone who is closed and exclusive. Reluctant to open up to various possibilities so it's easy to be disappointed if something doesn't happen as expected.
Humans are often not wise in seeing one thing. We only see one perspective and then are reluctant to present another perspective which may be quite significant.
A perspective that we believe to be the only principle that must be followed can make us have high expectations for it. For example, our perspective on working abroad as the best way to go. We think that is the only way to be successful. We work hard to sacrifice many things because of that one perspective to have high expectations that even exceed the limits of realistic thinking. Then when there is no open gap, we finally question our potential. Am I really not capable? What are my shortcomings? Will my future be bleak after this? And a series of other questions that bring up negative energy in the mind. Over time, we will also look for faults in ourselves and it is not impossible to blame other people or even the universe. Swearing the unfair universe on life. It's like seeing half an empty glass instead of half a full glass. Finally, the feeling of gratitude was eroded, replaced with a feeling of never satisfied.
In fact, the key is simply to change the perspective. For example with the perspective of working abroad earlier. It's okay to have the will to work abroad. There is no harm. But remember not to specify that this path is the only way. In order not to be too expectant, try to see that perspective with another perspective. For example, by assuming that working abroad can indeed help the career path. If you can, be grateful, if you can't, it's okay, there must be other jobs in the country that are no less good. After all, living in Indonesia also has many advantages. The relatively low cost of living and abundant natural resources can be aspects that we are grateful for by living in our own country. If you don't see how big the potential of this country is, how could the Netherlands have colonized it?
Basically, to get a solution to a problem, we can present various perspectives so that we can judge fairly. As long as we want to dig deeper into the answer within ourselves, turning on various voices with opposing opinions. The key is not to deny that there are other perspectives that can be used to examine a case. Let the two opposite sides in themselves struggle to give their arguments. Let the word "but" be often mentioned in the heart. As long as you don't forget to come up with a mediator between the two so you can accept both parties without being inclined. If we continue to train ourselves to accept both sides, we can learn to be more grateful with all the conditions that occur.
Controlling yourself to be able to see everything more broadly so it is not easy to set one perspective to be the right perspective. Leaving other perspectives that may not actually be wrong. Remember that in this world nothing is absolute. There is no 100% right or wrong. What we think is right may be wrong and what we think is wrong may be right. And if we can apply this thinking, we can be wiser in dealing with difficulties. It's easier to feel satisfied because whatever we do is actually nothing in vain. There must be a meaning.
When faced with a tough choice, it's good to try looking from multiple angles before taking action. By switching your perspective, you might discover something new about each option and gain a clearer sense of what to choose.
