Christmas, it’s a season of sorrow for many.
Christmas, it’s a season of sorrow for many.
Christmas is a wonderfully and favourite season of the year. You can greatly feel the vibes and the positive ambiance when the month of December is nearly approaching. The lights, the music, and the Christmas decorations can greatly bring positivity and hope. It’s a celebration of when Jesus Christ was born. It’s a renewal of our King Jesus Christ's birth.
Christmas it’s a season of love, care, and sharing. This is the time where you are thinking about a celebration that everyone could enjoy. Preparing foods that everyone could be satisfied with and wrapping gifts that everyone could be happy with. A celebration of showing love and affection towards the people you love.
But Christmas is a way different to others; Christmas is somehow a season of sorrow for many, why?
Some of the families are incomplete.
There are preparing for Christmas with incomplete family members. Some family members are on duty, at work, or abroad. Because of the call of duty, people have no choice but to work. While responsibilities and for the sake of their family, for someone who has no capability to go home especially for those who works abroad, they have no choice but to endure the idea of missing someone especially in this time of the season, a holiday where the family should gather and celebrate together.
Loss of someone they love.
While others are celebrating Christmas together with their family, there is also someone who suffers from the loss of their loved ones. You can never predict or you can never tell what will going to happen every day, but the pain of losing someone you love and thinking about celebrating Christmas is another thing that burdens their heart.
Others cannot afford food.
While others are thinking about having different kinds of dishes for the Christmas celebrations, there are some that cause of poverty they cannot afford to have any food for Christmas. The excitement about having some foods on the table that every one of them could enjoy during Christmas is nowhere to be found anymore.
Many are sick and bedridden.
They're also suffering from illness and some are bedridden who have no capability to enjoy the spirit of Christmas because they worry so much about their lives and conditions that make them unease.
They are affected by natural disasters, like typhoons.
There are places and millions of people now who have been affected by typhoons. In this kind of disaster caused by typhoons where many of their houses and properties have been damaged, it’s really heartbroken for everyone to know that Christmas is nearly approaching. The displacement of thousands of families and also the interruption of power and communication lines make it harder for them to feel the essence of Christmas.
There are things that we cannot control; there are instances in our lives that are unpredictable that some of us cannot handle alone. Regardless of the specifics, always remember that this season of joy is oftentimes a season of sorrow for many. Choose to be kind, be generous, share love and give help to someone in need; if you cannot offer anything else, just make sure that you’re not going a hard time with people. Just pray for them, and make them feel they are wanted, they are loved.
Always remember that the true essence of Christmas is not about having a lot of money, gifts, and foods you can give and offer, it’s all about the ultimate centering presence of Christ Himself. All presents in the world are worth nothing without the presence of Christ, remember that.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! ❤️
