Today everyone is familiar with the world wide web (www). But many don't know is it internet (network) or anything else. I also couldn't answer before 3/4 days.
The internet allows distributed applications running on its end systems (pc, laptop, server etc), to exchange data with each other.
These applications include remote login, file transfer, e-mail, audio and video conferencing, distributed games, the world wide web and much more.
It is worth emphasizing that the Web is not a separate network; rather just one of many distributed applications that use the communication services provided by the Internet.
Anyway, the Web could also run over a network besides the Internet.
WWW is an application and http is file transfer protocol.
