Flooding normally occurs during the monsoon season from June to September.
Flood in 2020 likely to be break the record of 1988.The predicted second wave of flooding is sweeping through Bangladesh, affecting almost 1.4 million people across 15 districts. THE first wave of flood began in late july and still continuing. Rivers were at danger level in 17 locations .
The north eastern districts of Sirajgonj(159 ,153 affected) and Sylhet (3,87581 affected)are among the worst affected. The north and central District of Tangail(132,480 affected)and Gaibandha (122,320 affected)and Jamalpur(114,733 affected)are also badly hit
Almost 1,000 shelter centres have been setup across the country to house the displaced people.
