What we learned from the most expensive Yugoslavian movie
Maybe you have heard about the movie "Battle of Neretva" before. Movie was very popular during the 1969. Movie was seen by 350 millions people, in many countries in the whole world. It was even nominated for the Oscar, in the category for the best foreign movie.
There are two versions of this movie. The running time of the Yugoslavian version is 175 minutes, and the running time of the version in English is 126 minutes. But, you can also find both versions in English, and both versions in languages of the Ex-Yugoslavia. I do not want to talk about the story that this movie is based on. Some people still believe in everything what was shown in Partisan movies, and I do not want to take that from them. You can easily find if this battle really happened, what was really hapening to the wounded partisans, and all other things that you would love to know about World War Second in Yugoslavia.
What I would love to talk about it what we have learned from this movie. I personally prefer the version in languages of the Ex-Yugoslavia, and I am not sure if this scene can be found in the version in English. Anyways, I will share with you my favorite part of this movie. In my opinion, this is very important lesson, and because of that I would love to share it with all of you here.
Scene that I would love to talk about is happening at the end of the movie. In that scene we can see Martin (Sergei Bondarchuk) talking to Vlada (Yul Bynner). Just a little explanation, in the movie Martin is the man who is taking care about all their cannons, and Vlado is the engineer. (It is interesting to say that Vlada is a characer from the real life). Vlada is supposed to build things, not to destroy them. In that scene soilders are destroying the cannons, trucks, cars, and all other things that they can not take with them on the other side of the river. Martin is very sad, and Vlada is singing. At one moment, Martin is getting close to Vlada,and that is where their dialogue starts. Martin is noticing the Vlada sings all the time, and Vlada notices Martin's sadness.
When Martin asked Vlada how he can sing, when it is war, they are destroying things all the time, Vlada answers to him that for the whole three years he is destroying, setting on fire, breaking things. ***And, sometimes, he is dreaming of bridges that he is going to build after the war.*** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWUFyxIq6yQ If you ask me, that is the point. We are sometimes passing trough some horrible things, scary things are happening to us, and many times we need ot do some very bad things. Things that we do not want to do. Things that we do not wish. But, we have to, because if we do not do those things, we will never come to some wonderful things that we wish to have in our lives.
Sometimes you have to crush something, if you want to build something. You have to stay strong, and to pass trough everything. Sun comes after the rain. Laugh comes after the tears. Good things come after the bad things.
Always have that on your mind!

Metalna konstrukcija mosta 15. oktobra ide na aukciju, prodaje se kao staro željezo. Ali Jablanica je obećala postaviti potpuno novu repliku mosta, odnosno srušene dijelove u Neretvi.
Nisam to znala, znala sam daj emost rusen, da je svasta bacano u Neretvu, zbog potreba filma. Bez obzira na sve Partizanski filmovi ponekad imaju jake pouke. Po mom misljenju pouka ovog film aje upravo taj kraj, upravo taj Vladin optimizam, ta nada u bolje sutra, ocekivanje, borba.
Na zalost cini mi se da je to danas totalno nezanimljiva prica novim generacijama
Ove filmove, ne samo neretvu, mnogo partizanskih filmova idalje mogu da vide na RTSu, ovaj snimak koji sma podelila je sa HRTa, znaci nacionalne televizije bivsih jugoslovenskih republika jos uvek repriziraju ove filmove. Pogled na drugi svetski rat se promenio, danasnje generacije nemaju taj duh bratstva i jedinstva, ali svakako je Neretva film koji vredi pogledati, bez obzira sta neko misli o partizanima, o NOBu i svemu sto se desavalo u Jugoslaviji za vreme rata. Film ima sjajnu glumacku postavu, sjajne efekte, i par nekih sjajnih pouka.

Secam se filma i velikana koi su glumili u njemu.
Film je zaista odlican. Na stranu da li je bas sve tako bilo. Film je jedan od najboljih ratnih filmova ikada. Glumili su neki od najpopularnijih glumaca, kako jugoslovenskih, tako i sovjetskih, ali i glumci iz Italije, Holivuda... Svakako ga vredi pogledati.
mislim da me neka nostalgija po ovom filmu.....kiša vani..mogla bi ja da pogledam opet.
Pa film svakako podseca na bivsu Jugoslaviju, i to svakako izaziva neku nostalgiju, ja sma ga gledala puno puta. U Srbiji se film reprizira relativno cesto na nacionalnoj televiziji.

I ja volim da ih gledam. Uz svoje dete sma saznala mnogo zanimljivosti, sto vezano za filmove, sto vezano za to kako je stvarno bilo za vreme rata. Ali, bez obzira na sve to ja ipak volim da gledam ove filmove.
Obavezno se isplačem!
Great movie, little brutal, but it's war, difficult times and cruel people who don't feel others pain. Let there never be war again.
It is not brutal, when you compare it with other movies about war. There are not many brutal scenes. In most partisan movies is not the point to show the war, it is the point to show the brotherhoo. To show how they were helping each other, how they loved their friends, and how they respected the rules about the war.

There is a point in every single movie. Well, in almost every single movie. I personally think that the point of this movie is at the end of it. We need ot do things we od not like, if we want to get to the point where we can do things we wanna do,
