Negative Effects of Overthinking

Consider a machine running nonstop. How can it hold up at this pace?

We humans are sentient beings, yes, but I think sometimes we exaggerate this feature given to us and break our machine.

Have you ever felt like ants are crawling in your brain from thinking?

I think this is a good example.

First you think about what you're thinking, then when you say more there's a big untied knot in your head.

The brain is now a machine that slowly gives signals of deterioration.

The human brain is constantly working, producing, thinking. Sometimes we think so fast and too much that we start to tire ourselves and our brains too much. Excess of everything is harmful, and thinking too much harms ourselves mentally.

One of the features that distinguishes us from other living things is the emotions that will make us feel bad. From this point of view, we can say that they are lucky, since non-human creatures do not have feelings of bad feeling. :)

Many of the people who are called overthinkers, that is, overthinkers, think over and over an event or a moment in their minds in the most detailed and most exhausting way. For example, when they are alone, they replay the conversations they had with other people in their minds, and they relive that moment with thoughts such as I wish I had said that, how did I not say it at that moment or it would have been better if I had not said it like that.

Another example is the tendency to look for other meanings under other people's discourses and to constantly think about it. Did he actually mean that? Now why did he say that to me? They tire themselves so much with such questions.

There are many more examples like these, but overthinking is usually geared towards constructing assumptions about the future, such as dealing with events based on the past, that is, moments of regret and embarrassment. Of course, these fictions are negative predictions that are formed and thought about in the head. These constant thinking states, which are dependent on the past or the future, cause unhappiness, depression, fear, anxiety, and a constantly uneasy mood that is not present at the moment.

There is no end to thinking, our brain can make us play all kinds of games, have them fictionalized, and make the assumptions made feel as if they are real and put them in that negative psychology. It is entirely up to us to manage excessive and negative thinking. If we change the way we think about the events that happen to us, we can cope more easily and we can greatly reduce our anxiety and unhappiness.

Another method is to stay in the moment, that is, to live in the moment. If there is a good moment, it will only hurt you to search for something under it and spoil that moment by making assumptions. Just try to stay in the moment and not preoccupy your mind with guesswork.

Finally, there is no end to thinking, and overthinking seriously harms us. For this reason, you have to accept everything that happens and move on. The most important and most difficult thing to do in order to stay mentally healthy in this life is to accept and continue from where we left off. Also, remember, who said what, what did he mean, or if I hadn't done so, unfortunately, life would not pass.
