The Discourse
The Bitcoin Cash community has continued to push forward amid controversy surrounding the November 15th upgrade, putting the ecosystem at a crossroads while miners and developers deliberate how to proceed.
Tensions still run high with calls for ABC developer Amaury Sechet to end hostilities, further debate of how IFP negatively impacts the ecosystem as a whole, and Roger Ver speaking out against ABC’s action as damaging to the ecosystem with a plea to reconsider. More services continue to join the initiative including Read.Cash announcing their support for BCHN, as well as member.cash
Haipo Yang of CoinEx/ViaBTC has released its stance as supportive of Bitcoin ABC which will remain the default mining pool with an optional BCHN mining pool, shortly after declaring neutrality. Yang also notes his belief that Bitcoin Cash is defined only by Bitcoincash.org and Bitcoin ABC, which was met with much criticism by the community. Haipo’s statements have already spurred some to begin boycotting CoinEx. Mining provider ASICseer is advising its clients to move away from ViaBTC’s pools.
Bitcoin Cash Node quickly built support this week with Binance, P2Pool, Bitcoin.com, easy2mine, Houbi, btc.top, and Okex making blocks in solidarity for a no-IFP ASERT upgrade making up approximately 60% of BCH hashpower with 39% of signaling pools showing BCHN support, and 0% for ABC.
Market prices have declined by 13% from a high of $325 to $285 following most other currency pairs into a longer consolidation pattern.
Development
Bitcoin ABC
Bitcoin ABC has released its November client that maintains the divisive IFP funding model that will reject all non-IFP blocks with some notable differences from the earlier IFP proposal, marking an official stance that ABC is willing to fork away from the no-IFP miners if it does not achieve majority hashpower.
Bitcoin Cash Node
The Bitcoin Cash Node development team continues full steam ahead for the November 15th upgrade with the release of BCHN v22.0.0 featuring the new ASERT difficulty adjustment protocol spearheaded by Jonathan Toomim.
Flowee the Hub
Tomas Zander’s Flowee expands its capabilities with its latest release of version 2020.5 that includes a host of fixes and updates to its developer focused modular client, most notably a preview of the new wallet client Flowee Pay. This latest version will follow the no-IFP ASERT update.
Knuth
The Knuth developer team announces a new library for C#/.NET library and a funding round to build this addition to Knuth’s growing library stack for out-of-the box options for aspiring Bitcoin Cash developers. The latest release of the C library, C-API v0.4.2. has also been announced to form the bedrock of future additions.
