In the previous article I briefly explained the importance of proteins, quantities we should be intaking on a daily basis, and a list of foods that are highest in protein, however, I excluded seeds and nuts out of that post. Therefore, I will devote this article to seeds and nuts, explain their value and acknowledge their protein levels.

SAN (seeds and nuts) are arguably the greatest source of cardiovascular health known to mankind. They are extremely high in healthy fats (Omega 3), and fiber! Whoever has high cholesterol should start consuming SANs more frequently.

Now, let's move to a list of the top 5 SANs that are the highest in protein (the previous article contains informations regarding the daily value we should be intaking):

01) Hemp seeds consist of 25 to 40 percent of protein, depending on the hemp strain. They are also very rich in Omega-3, yet, cheap and easy-to-get.

02) Squash and pumpkin seeds are almost equally rich in proteins. Levels depend on strains (there are over a hundred different strains), but are varying from 25-35%! They do not lack Omega-3, so, you can't make a mistake by eating them as much as possible.

03) Peanuts are very high in protein (up to 25%) but are also very high in fats, however, 50% of the fats they consist of are not healthy fats, so, their consumption should be limited.

04) Almonds are such a great add-on to chocolates, yet, so high in protein. On average, there are 20 grams of proteins on 100 grams of almonds!

05) Sunflower seeds are not only rich in vitamin E but also high in protein. There are up to 20 grams of proteins per 100 grams of sunflower seeds!

The rest of the SANs contain from 10 to 18% of protein. Those are walnuts, hazelnuts, flax seeds, sesame seeds, chia seeds, cashews, pine nuts... In my opinion, SANs and berries are God's gifts to all living beings. Unlike artificial sweeties, SANs and berries are tasty, healthy, and easy-to-get!
