Attention: If you haven´t read parts I and II, click on the links below and enjoy! I insist this post does not intend to be the opinion of an "expert", this is just my experience, and what I think about the NFT games at this moment.

Part I

Part II

This is the end of the journey. The last part of this series has arrived. It was so interesting to post what I think about these games, but as you may imagine, I truly want that this situation can be different in the future.

The rise of the "Rug Pull"

Evil and deception have been around since ancient times, gradually morphing as the world evolves. They do it so fast that it is imperceptible to many, who still trust that good faith is something you get everywhere.

Maybe the initial intention of the NFT games was noble, you could play and make money trying, maybe it will be like that in the future with advanced technology, and maybe it will be done by serious development companies that know the reach they can have, but for now, the reality is different.

It is curious the blind faith that we come to have when a project we did not know about before, with people we do not know, appears in our sight. As much as we try not to fall into the trap, you never know. I often hear phrases like "This project is endorsed by X company, this looks very serious" or "the developers are showing their face, they always keep in touch with users" and blah blah blah, all to make in principle, a clean and honest project.

There may be, but with the problems, I mentioned in previous posts. Meanwhile, there is a brood of unscrupulous people, with programming and design skills, capable of creating a "project" that attracts several investors, which inflates the price of your currency, attracts attention and positions itself as a serious project.

After having a quite attractive and high price... everything collapses, out of nowhere the "responsible and honest devs who show their faces" disappear from the map, and the game loses all its value.

They take away all the liquidity of the token, take your currency to zero, and you're left with a wave of annoying investors who can't claim their money back, because the essence of cryptocurrencies won't allow them to, since you can't track where your money goes. We call that "Rug Pull", a whole horrible and dishonest practice, (you can go to Google for more information about it).

The power of influencers and their honesty

Doing a project like this requires some agility, but also credibility (clearly it is the basis of everything), so when you are a nobody who wants to make fraudulent money at any cost, take smart steps. And that is why it is time to invest money, to steal money.

This is where content creators and, why not, YouTubers come in. It is well known that on YouTube there are countless content creators dedicated to showing everything that happens in the crypto world, including NFT games. That is well known to the vermin who cheat. To make their "projects" credible, many pay considerable amounts of money to YouTubers, who talk wonders and promote their games, and many of them agree, without even studying, that such a project.

We see very often this. They receive money, and chances to earn more "playing", and therefore many fervently defend the projects when they are criticized (you can investigate about it and see how many incur in this, making more and more people fall into the trap).

In short, everything evolves, even deception.

Final thoughts

It is a cruel world if we do not know how to move. Starting this series of posts, I stand by it. NFT games are at an early age, and at the moment, they are not profitable. Maybe in the future things will be different, but for now, at least for me, I wouldn't want to invest in one.

Cryptocurrencies are the future and the present. We are already seeing it with #BCH, #BTC, #ETH and all those with great potential, but from that to games that promise absurd profits with modest investments, there is a long way to go.

We have to wait for the future, but always keep something in mind. Times change, and you have to adapt quickly to everything, even the bad.
