Why Should We Dress?
Clothing, basically created to protect themselves from the heat and cold air. In addition to covering aurat that is inappropriate to be shown in public.
In subsequent developments, apart from being a cover for the body, it is also an aesthetic tool for someone to look trendy and glamorous following current trends.
At first humans were inspired by the creatures around them who were born to get their skin as well as their clothes. Even in past civilizations, bark was used as a cover, such as the koteka to cover vital organs in Papua for men and tassel skirts for women.
The ancient humans who inhabited the earth's settlements used animal skins as they were. They skin various animals such as goats, tigers, wolves, and so on, and use them as their clothes.
In subsequent developments, clothes made from various fabrics from cotton were made into threads, then woven into sheets of cloth that were ready to be shaped into various clothes. Until modern civilization, woven fabrics are still made and traded at quite fantastic prices.
Currently, clothing is not just covering the genitals or protecting yourself. However, it has become a basic need, has become a commodity, and is produced in large quantities. Various garment companies exist to meet the needs of human clothing. Starting from pants, shirts, skirts, underwear, sports clothes, work uniforms, tenty uniforms, even baby clothes.
From the clothing business to human needs, apart from sewing machines, tailors also gave birth to fashion designers.
Materials for clothing also move dynamically. We know different types of clothing. Starting from cotton, wool, polymer, Dacron, and so on.
Each country has its own characteristics regarding customs and dress traditions that adapt to certain situations and conditions, where these traditional clothes sometimes only appear at certain times, for example for traditional ceremonies.
And in our modern life, nowadays people prefer fashionable clothes. Simple and easy to use. For example, for casual events at home, wear t-shirts and shorts. And when out wearing jeans and a shirt. Sometimes people also pay attention to color, according to their respective preferences. For women with bright and men tend to wear plain colors.
I personally don't have much of a collection of clothes. In fact, I still keep clothes from years and sometimes I still wear them. I'm one of those people who have old school tastes. Lol
When traveling I prefer to wear cotton shirts that don't make me hot. And cover it with a jacket. For formal occasions or attending weddings, I usually wear batik or a white shirt.
So, clothes are not a useful investment item. Because clothes, no matter how expensive they were when they were new, would eventually pile up into useless old rags. Except for clothes in bridal makeup as a complement to the wedding reception which is rented out for the wedding.
What is clear as normal human beings we still have to dress. Because politeness means respecting yourself. Good clothes will make a good impression. And bad clothes will give a bad impression.
By the way, how many closets do you have for your wardrobe?
I am also into fashion because wearing something good makes me feel motivated especially to the nature of my work. But I am not into expensive clothes, I am usually prefer clothes from "ukay-ukay". The most important thing is how you keep your confidence to all the clothes that you wear.
