The learnings that I will forever treasure.
Date: November 20,2021 Author: Sequoia **"To identify that a child has a broken arm or leg is easy. It is not as easy, however, to identify the deep emotional traumas that wounded the soul of a child and cause a change in behaviour "** **•Killbourn,2004** If you guys have been reading my articles these past few days, you surely know that I have attended a training last November 15-17, 2021. The other day, I have shared about the venue itself. But of course, I won't just stop there. Being in that 3-day training is such a blessing for me. I have learned a lot of things and became aware of the reality. Reality that we thought that only exist in movies and fiction stories. That training made me appreciate our social providers even more. Their sacrifices and compassionate heart is beyond description. ________________________ The event's topic is Trauma Informed Care Training. In which, several participants from different regions of mindanao have attended . The speakers are from the DSWD and IJM personnel field office of Cebu City. It was actually a virtual lectures because of the keynote speakers' locations. The workshop was meant to train the social providers on how to deal with the abused children and women. As we all know, their job is super risky and they are also prone to receive secondary traumas by just hearing the stories of their clients. The speakers tackled about the definition and foundation of Trauma Informed Care. Furthemore, the participants have learned the importance of applying the TIC when it comes in dealing with the victims. They also provided several strategies on how to implement it to the survivors. Along with that, the participants also did a lot of activities and workshops in line with their topic. As much as I wanted to share it detail by detail, I know that it will take me so much time. That is why, I will just put here the summary and my learnings during the event. ________________________ **What have I learned?** I have learned that being a service provider is never an easy job. You have to give everything especially your heart if you plan to enter this field of career. You have to build a strong and healthy relationship in every aspect of your life, because you will surely encounter cases and situations that will make you lose your faith and trust in humanity. Hearing the heartbreaking stories of victims will make you hate and judge the people around you. Victims of abused in different aspects can happen to anyone and anywhere. Children are more prone to trauma and sexual abused. It is mainly because they are easy to manipulate. All emotions has a story behind it. Trauma comes in many form. And one of the most challenging task of being a service provider is having a very long patience and understanding. ________________________ **Closing Thought** *"The event might be over. But the trauma is still there."* Never compare the victims from each other. They have different level of resiliency. You never know how deep the wound that event have caused them. Treat everyone around you with love and compassion. You never know their story and what they are going through in life.

Nailed it, seq! Your battles aren't mine and vice versa!
Exactly po ma'am 🤗
Parang social work sis? Totoo nga naman we can invalidate someone's feelings just because we think ours us much worse
Oo sis. Social work talaga. That's why, need talaga natin nag show ng kindness.
Yes Langga treat them equally and the most importantly threat them with all your heart. Serve them with a good humanity. Showed them love and care. Do not judge them or be careful what are the things we've doin. Be a good person for them. Don't give up and always have a long patience. Treat them as your family.
I totally agree with this ate Ganda. They deserve all the love 🤗
Yes Langga indeed. They deserve it.❤️
Wala din talagang madaling work and for sure yung work na ganyan mahirap talaga. Tsaka tama ka, iba't iba din man nararanasan ng mga tao, di natin sila pwedeng icompare sa iba kasi pareparehas lang naman tayo ng nararamdaman.
True mare. we are fightinh different battles.
Just everyone with kindness as we don't even know who are suffering from trauma and other pain..our bad actions and words might trigger their anxiety..
Oo ateee. Baka tyo apyung maging dahilan kung bakit mag trigger yung trauma nila.
Some education improves our lives. And these are lessons that each of us should take. The teachings that improve our human life improve the education society. We have to be good to people all the time. We have to make all people our own.
If we want to be respected, we should also show respects.
I believe that was a successful workshop. You learned something great. It takes us a long time to understand these from the victims' perspective. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Thank you also for your time and appreciation.
Kaya we can't judge someone for we did not know what they've been through. Maganda talaga na umattend ng mga ganyan kasi marami lang matutunan.
Oo nga sis. Di ko nga inexpect na pati sko ay may matututunan sa training na ito. I mean, hindi naman ako part sa aprticipants ,😅
It may sound too simple or small for us, but for them, it's not. That's why we should not judge them because we have no idea what they've been through. What a great experience you got mars ! :>
Lahi2 baya jud tag level sa sensitivity mars ay.
Mao ng alwaya look of behind the the scene kay naa didto.a tanan mahibaw.an.
Exactly ying. Naa didtua ang mga nutang nga dili natu makita sa spotlight.
mao nang di jus ta dapat mo judge sa usa ka tawo base sa situation nga iya giagian kay wa ta kahibaw sa iyang mga struggles after
Mao gyud beb. Thou shall not judge jud kaau
Well done on the training and yes we should never judge anyone as you don't know what they have been through DF
Right DF? We should treat everyone with kindness.
oo DF, exactly, always treat everyone how we want to be treated :)
You're right, sis, we don't know their whole story. What we can do for them instead of judging them is to give them more love. It's way harder than we thought.
True sis. Let's show love jud sa matag usa.
Kanang all emotions has a story behind gyud ay. That's why dili gyud nato iinvalidate and feelings sa tawo because we do not what they've been through.
Tamaaaa jud kaau ka teee
