It is not only in the financial World that we have Assets And Liabilities. It is not always good to say someone is a liability , liability is something that you owe and serves as debt to you. While Assets are things that you own and that belongs to you totally. Things that belong to you that can make you rise from nothing to something. Your natural endowment. Then it is mind +brightening to hear that "You are an Asset ". You are an Asset to the Community. This is better to hear than You are a Liability. Calling someone a Liability , is shameful and degrading and Very disheartening to hear. It is bad and unpleasant.

Today , am going to write on someone being An Asset to himself , An Asset to the Community , An Asset to the Nation , An Asset to the World. I will like to write on Someone being a Liability later in the week.

A person with good voice that can sing very well is an Asset. A skilful person with good legs is an Asset. A very tall person with slimy body is an Asset. Therefore all these are Advantages that can transform one s life totally.

That reminds me of a story shared on @SKY SPORTS NEWS many weeks ago as I was watching News sometimes many weeks ago . I can still remember very vividly. This is a real life story. There was a boy called @AKEEM OLAJUWON in the early 80's. He's tall and lanky. He at times referred to as Giant and rudely called 'Tooga', meaning ridiculously a tall person with no usefulness. But his coach gave him a nickname "The Dream". To his Coach , his life transformation to a big Star was a dream to him. Because of his tallness , some people advised him to take playing Basketball as a hobby so that it's tallness would not be a waste. He took the advice and henceforth playing basketball soon became his pastime. No doubt about it, his playing days at Muslim Teacher Training College Ikorodu was a success.

Hakeem OLAJUWON was born on January 21 ,1963 to the family of Salim And Abike OLAJUWON. He is a Nigerian -American former Professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association ( NBA) . In a career spanning 18years. He has played for two teams : The Toronto Raptors and The Houston Rockets. Hakeem was born and raised in Lagos where opportunity was rared in those days.. At the age of 15years , he finally decided to start playing basketball and exhibited some natural skills at the game.

He immigrated to the United States Of America for his college education and joined the University of Houston soon after while his 7-feet frame helped him earn a place on the University's basketball team, his skills got him selected for the 1984 NBA DRAFT and he got signed by the Houston Rockets. He led his team to win the NBA Championship in both 1994and1995 playing as a centre. He is known as one of the Greatest Centre Ever to have played in the NBA. In 2008 , he was inducted into the Basketball Hall Of Fame . He has also been named to the ALL-NBA FIRST TEAM six times and has been the NBA FINALS MOST VALUABLE PLAYER twice . In the 1996 Olympics , he played for the American National Team and helped them win a Gold Medal.

There's no doubt that his assets had brought him fame and popularity. One's Assets are considered Advantageous because they give you leverages over others at the time of competition. There's no one in life that do not endowed with one Advantage or the other. I may also buttress this with another story as relayed by the person himself. It is no other person than a very popular Music Super Star , King Sunny Ade.

King Sunny Ade, original name Sunday Adeniyi Anthony Adegeye. His Asset is his VOICE. His voice is sonorous to hear. He has the lead vocal of singing melodiously to the appreciation of his numerous listeners cutting across the Atlantic Ocean to Europe and other Parts of the World. He was born on September 22,1946. He is a Very Popular Musician and in the Vanguard of the development and International popularization of Juju Music. This Juju Music is a fusion of traditional Yoruba Vocal forms and Percussion with Western Rock And Roll. He used his personal Asset of good voice coupled with his skilful blending of many items into making a good song that fetched him Millions Of Dollars.

From the two personalities discussed above it can be deduced that One's Assets are ones Advantage that can be used to transform one 's life into greatness. They are personalities that are Role Models in their chosen careers. Your own assets too can be used to transform your lives into Greatness.
