"Do what makes you happy",they say...
"Do what makes you happy", they say but do they even give you the chance to do it or do they still accept you when you do it.
Passion they say is determination or POWERFUL EMOTION for something or someone.
When you have passion for something or even if it's just little interest it pushes you do more.
I remember when I wanted to enter school, I chose a very difficult course, and when the results came out, I knew I wouldn't make it, so I just decided to change courses before it was too late. After a few years in school, I always say I thank God I didn't later get that course I initially picked because I felt like I wouldn't do well at all, but the truth is, assuming I got it, I might even do better than I thought because that drive will be there it's something I have always wanted so even though it's a tough course my mind is programmed already to do well in it cause to me it's something I love.
I'd also like to mention that our decisions are influenced by our parents, friends, family, and society. Your parents may say they don't want to select for you, but you know deep down that if you chose what you really want, they would disagree.
It's like a family where almost everyone is in medicine or engineering and a child decides to branch out and choose something like a marchioness. That child may be passionate about it, but he knows he won't do it because his parents will object.
Another thing I've seen is that once you start doing what you're truly passionate about, or as they say, what you love, people start to say things like you've changed. What if that person hasn't changed? The person might have been like that from scratch but wasn't given the chance to express himself.
I have given it soo many thoughts, most times when a person is doing what he loves, he has a 70% chance of making it because he will be focused, determined and excited about it. For me there are sometimes where I just see something related to fashion and immediately I am interested in it, that's when I start creating scenarios in my head lol and imagining what I can do if I had the opportunity to do what I want.
Yes, we all work for to earn money and other things but can that job keep you going for years? (Would you be happy or dedicated to your work in 5-10years?) That's why so many people don't show any kind of commitment to their jobs. For example, you go to a hospital and the nurses give you a bad attitude, or you go to a store and the shop attendant isn't even serious about her job, and so on.
If only some people could comprehend that pursuing something you enjoy does not mean you have to give up something you value, such as religion or respect.
