Cyber crime especially "Yahoo Yahoo" has been the order of the day among the youths. Several people has been engaging in fraud, you see them dressing and spending extravagantly. Cyber crime has been a deadly vice employed by people to satisfy their material needs and for so many other reasons. Sometimes people who work by honest means are intimidated by the extravagant lifestyles of these fraudsters. What they do not know is that engaging in fraud will always have its own bad consequences in the future. People do not believe in hard work anymore. They want to engage in activities that brings quick wealth, thereby defrauding other people of their hard earned money. People especially youths find themselves in this dubious act as a result of;

1. Peer pressure: Some of the youths are always been pressurized by their friends about engaging in their fraud activities. They are often amazed by the flaunt of wealth always exhibited by their friends, and they always want to be like them. Many started engaging in fraud because they saw their friends probably in school engage in it and they also start it, often they always forget that it will bring them a bad consequence soon or later.

2. Greed and Covetousness: A person who is a greed and is always discontented with what he has will always find means both legally or illegally to gather more money. This kind of people may be financially okay but because of their greed and insatiable desire for wealth or money will go extra miles to get it. Cyber crime can destroy the image of a country, that's to tell us how bad it is.

Many youths engage in this bad business because they are lazy, they can't work hard and straight to make their mark, they want to rob people of their money and spend it uselessly. Many if you ask them will give a stupid excuse as cover up, such like lack of employment and bad economy of the country, but does that now demand for engaging in frauds?

Engaging in cyber crimes cannot make you wealthy, it will ruin you. Remember "hushpuppi" and where he is now. Sometimes ago this guy will intimidate others on social media, flaunting his big cars and mansion all gotten from illegal means, where are all those properties now?

Have you ever seen some of the richest men around the world gotten their money through cyber crimes, no. Because money stolen or acquired through illegal means don't last. Wealth is not built overnight, but slow and steady. Those of this fraudsters can't rest, always evading police officers who are always ready to curb such menace in the society.

Fraud always have effects in the lives of the victims too, many have committed suicide when they realized they have been defrauded of their money. Fingers are not always equal, many has suffered from mental disorder because they cannot just processed the fact that their money is long gone. But you see this fraudsters after robbing these victims go to parties, spend money which is not theirs. So sad.

I believe some of the ways fraud can be reduced or erased is to create stringent laws that will work against the fraudsters, I believe once deserving punishment are melted against these fraudsters, their activities will be reduced. Another point to take note of is the issue of unemployment. Some people took fraud as an occupation because they finished school and there was no jobs for them. Government and Private individuals should look into this aspect and work on it. I believe if reasonable jobs are created for graduates in the country, crime generally will reduce and there will be tranquility.

Don't engage in cyber crimes. It doesn't pay, it will tarnish your image and your dubious act may come against you in the nearest future when you least expected it. You don't have to keep running and hiding, find something legal to engage on and you can work freely on the streets without anyone intimidating you. There are legal hustle and jobs you could do online without having to defraud people. You can be a freelancer, a writer, and so on.

Desist from fraud. Thanks

Those things listed are truly the cause of internet fraud in the world we live today. The government have a lot to do by providing profitable job opportunities for our youths as it will discourage them in going into it. Nice write-up! Kudos to you

The menace that this act of cyber crime poses to the society is undoubtedly scary. On the part of those involved, they shouldn't give excuses for partaking in such illicit act, and on the government's part, they should do all that is within their power and jurisdiction to curb this wide spreading fire and sit up to their responsibility of making life easy and simple for it's people. Those involved are mainly youths and off course you can say that they are enticed due to their youthful exuberance. They need employment, something that takes their time in return for money that can meet the bills that are to be settled with it, and also, an enabling environment to work in.
