Àníké mi;

Amidst these showers and mist
I sit and scribble with my pen
How my feelings of love for you evolved, Àníké,
So powerful like the raging sea.

Òréke léwà omoge;
I was blown from the rocky hills of Adó-Èkìtì
To the great riverside of Òsogbo
There I saw you sitting by the stream
Similitude like that of Yèyé- goddess of beauty.
Your bosom, so succu-filled of future
Your slender waist whistled down to ur hips
Beautifully sculpted like a vessel from a raw clay.
Your foot, gloriously set for Bàtá dance.

Adumáadán;
Let us begin a love story
Together lábé igi Òrōnbó
Where the birds shall give us rhythms
To our love songs filled with rhymes
Briskly, let us dance at Órítaméta
With your Shùkú, even to the neighbouring village, alápata.
Let us ride on the wings of our heritage
And showcase the beauty of our culture
With the beauty symbol on your cheek.

Téminikan;
My pot has been starved of Obè Ègúsí
Come over, let's prepare Íyán féléfélé
Let's teach our daughter how to make Èfó rírò
And our son, how to respect their elders

Ayé mi;
Let us last till
Sight shall be weak to see beauty
And beauty, no longer pleasing to the sight
Together on our dying bed,
As we await an alteration to immortality.
