Every once in a blue moon I manage to edit a shot that surprises me with how well it turns out. I simply love how the reflection of the album jacket shows up on the vinyl record itself from the flash of the camera.

These businesses love to claim they 'have never had a recall' - even though they SHOULD issue a recall. Most specifically, I am talking about Purina Fancy Feast™ Cat Food. The last two cases I have bought (at $22.97 per case after tax) have been incorrectly labeled. I purchased them (in separate purchases) intending to buy Fancy Feast Gravy Lover's Beef Feast w/Gravy. Instead, both cases were labeled Beef Feast but instead contained Chicken Feast. Now, it wouldn't really make much difference to me, but my tom Scar does not like Chicken - he wants Beef. And I KNOW I did not buy the only two mislabeled cases. Purina knows - I sent them all the required information including manufacturing codes etc. And they offered to send me coupons to replace the mislabeled cases. But if they don't do a recall, how do I know the exact same thing won't happen again when I try to replace them? Left: correct Beef Center: mislabeled Beef Right: correct Chicken

I love my country, but some days I wish I could leave it. I'm not anti-gun, but I think many people should not have one. I think the courts in my country often make incorrect rulings involving shooting deaths. This is leading to more and more idiots that think lethal force is legally justified even when no one's life is in imminent danger. It gets me just a bit perturbed some mornings...like today for instance. Enjoy 3½ minutes of me speaking my mind. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nwkKUEi63Y

Going 'Old School' with the TV, put up an outdoor digital antenna on a 20 foot telescoping mast that I fastened to the house this afternoon. I get several channels (6) and each channel carries 4 programs in its digital broadcast signal, so I effectively have 24 broadcast TV programs to choose from - for free, no cable, no Internet/streaming service. I get most of the major networks (ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, PBS) and news is local to my area since they are local broadcast stations (between 8 - 128 km distance from me depending on the station I am watching). Happy 4/20 to those that know. Unfortunately today is also the anniversary of Adolf Hitler's birthing. But I'd rather go hang out with Snoop and Willie. *puff**puff**pass*

So it was three years ago today that Lil' Miss Thang (Emoci) showed up unannounced. No clue where she came from, in my estimation she was between 6-9 months old. After hanging out in my side yard for a few days, on the third day she followed Scar inside when he came in the house and that was that - she's been here ever since. But about 9 months after she showed up, I thought I'd best take her in to the vet and get her spayed - so I set up an appointment and dropped her off on the scheduled day - only to get a call a few hours later saying when they shaved a place on her belly, they found a scar from where she had already been spayed. Needless to say, this intrigued me more than a bit since it meant someone had already spent money on her - but to this day she's never left the house to go 'home' so I guess she had her reasons for not wanting to be there.

Yesterday ended up being a Judas Priest marathon on the sound system (Hell Bent for Leather, Screaming for Vengeance, Rocka Rolla), today's picks started with ZZ Top (Tres Hobres). (Five photos)

I just realized how badly I have been screwing up for the past couple of years. I've been posting what I am playing on my turntable, but I forgot to include speakers and an amp in the posts so you could hear it as well! So let me rectify that: Sansui FR-D25 turntable with older Audio Techinca cart (plus spare Ortofon 2M Blue cart/headshell), Marantz Model 2015 receiver, Infinity RS5 speakers. Nothing real fancy, but it gets me through the night. And a fantastic album from the band Fleetwood Mac with 'Tango in the Night'. Side One - 1. Big Love 2. Seven Wonders 3. Everywhere 4. Caroline 5. Tango In The Night 6. Mystified Side Two - 1. Little Lies 2. Family Man 3. Welcome To The Room...Sara 4. Isn't It Midnight 5. When I See You Again 6. The name of this record is actually simply 'The Beatles', but it is more commonly referred to as 'The White Album'. Released 55 years ago now, this is NOT a copy from 1968, but is a reissue from the 2018 50th anniversary box set featuring this album plus the double-lp 'Escher Demos', which were early versions of the songs worked up by individual band members. Side one 1. "Back in the U.S.S.R." 2. "Dear Prudence" 3. "Glass Onion" 4. "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da" 5. "Wild Honey Pie" 6. "The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill" 7. "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" 8. "Happiness Is a Warm Gun" Side two 1. "Martha My Dear" 2. "I'm So Tired" 3. "Blackbird" 4. "Piggies" 5. "Rocky Raccoon" McCartney 6. "Don't Pass Me By" 7. "Why Don't We Do It in the Road?" 8. "I Will" 9. "Julia" Side three 1. "Birthday" 2. "Yer Blues" 3. "Mother Nature's Son" 4. "Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except Me and My Monkey" 5. "Sexy Sadie" 6. "Helter Skelter" 7. SAD BUT TRUE - IN AMERICA, IT IS SAFER TO BE IN PRISON THAN TO BE IN PUBLIC. No one gets killed by a stranger or a stray bullet in prison. Yes, inmates get killed, but it is never by accident. The person killed is always the person that is supposed to get killed. You aren't going to be walking to the chow hall or the library or working out lifting weights or walking to the commissary and suddenly BOOM! you're dead because someone else was getting shot at (or stabbed). But if you ARE NOT in prison, every time you leave your house there's a chance someone you never met will shoot you. You don't even have to make anyone mad. You can be waiting for a bus, or just sitting in your front yard, or buying groceries, or going to the bank - and then everyone is reading your name in a list of victims. #TrueFact (photo is the old Joliet Correctional Center, the first prison I did time in.)

If Orthodox Easter is next Sunday does that mean today is Unorthodox Easter?

It doesn't take much at all to fool the auto-focus on my camera - just one twig sticking out between the moon and I, and of course the camera had to latch onto it and focus there. So I gave the camera (mounted on a stand) a small nudge to move the twig out of the field of view and took a clear shot. (the 2nd and 3rd photos are individual shots).

@Scarred4Lyfe

This is what happens when I get bored. I'm not sure of my own opinion of it, I'm not sure what it is or what it is supposed to represent, I simply know that it is.

Beautiful Spring day here, mostly sunny and currently 28°C/82°F at almost 5 PM. Emoci is busy lazing in the sun while she performs her Afternoon Squirrel Watch™.

@Scarred4Lyfe

Turkey vultures at the end of the property today. I assume there is a fresh kill down on the hill at the end of the yard or on the railroad tracks at the bottom of the hill. There were 6 of them altogether, 4 that were down below my line of sight took off as I approached. The second photo gives a good idea of how large they are, the two birds in the photo are about 25 meters away.

@Scarred4Lyfe

Oh wow - 11 days since I have posted - it is a bit odd to wait that long, but I guess it goes to show how boring my life has become, since there evidently haven't been any occurrences worth posting about.

Only 10°C/50°F but the first sunny day we've had for a week or so. Emoci has found herself the Purrfect Sumbean and is busily relaxsticating.

So tomorrow is the (allegedly) official first day of Spring. Early this morning it was -4 degrees and snowing. This global freezing crap is getting old.

About once every 2 months. My supplier dropped off 28 grams of fine flower last evening, his previous visit having been January 10th. This is the Gelato 33 strain, third time I've gotten it from him and it is one of my favorites at the moment.

@Scarred4Lyfe

This will be trouble later. Scar (black cat) does NOT like anyone else being on HIS bed (although he lets me sleep there) but P.T. decided since Scar is asleep he can go ahead and get up there for now.

Another Monday, only my Government Officials, in Their Infinite Wisdom, did that change thing with the clocks since last Monday so I have to wait an extra full hour for daylight now. They need to quit sitting around with their hands on their clocks and instead worry about things that actually mean something.

Only 37 F/3 C outside this morning so I did not feel like going out and fighting the trees to get a 'clean' shot of the moon, instead I settled for this view from inside my living room. 3:01 AM March 5 2023 Somewhere in southeastern Illinois USA

And 50 years ago today saw the release of the classic 'The Dark Side of the Moon' from Pink Floyd.
