Turkey vultures at the end of the property today. I assume there is a fresh kill down on the hill at the end of the yard or on the railroad tracks at the bottom of the hill. There were 6 of them altogether, 4 that were down below my line of sight took off as I approached. The second photo gives a good idea of how large they are, the two birds in the photo are about 25 meters away.

That is impressive. I love vultures somehow, no idea why. Having them so close must be both, scary and sublime. Not sure if we have them here, have never seen one, only behind bars.
I see them wheeling in the sky all across town off and on, there are a few flocks that roost somewhere near the outskirts of town.
