There is no match for the colorful butterflies in the beauty of nature. There are a lot of interesting and interesting facts about butterflies in the life cycle of just a few days, if not known which will probably fascinate you like the form of the insect. Tasting with the feet, drinking water from the mud or camouflage techniques for self-defense, etc., apart from the beauty of the life of the insect is very captivating. In today's program, I will briefly learn about butterflies, some interesting unknown facts, which will give you a fresh idea about the insect.

Tasting with the feet

Butterflies have a special role to play in finding or taking food. These immaculate insects taste food through their feet. The receptor that tests the taste of food is in the butterfly's feet. Moreover, female butterflies move from one tree to another and hit certain parts of the tree with their feet. They then examine the sap of the tree through the foot's chemoreceptor. If it conforms to their set standards, they lay eggs there.

This is very important because after birth the butterfly larvae get the necessary food from this tree or its leaves. In this way, butterflies find the ideal place to feed or lay eggs through their feet. However, butterflies are not the only insects in nature that taste food through their feet. Crickets and locust taste receptors are also present in their legs.

Relying only on liquid foods

Butterflies have no chewing gum, so they cannot eat solid foods at all. They have a tube-like proboscis in their mouth, with which they can take only liquid food. Among the liquid foods, their main food is flower honey, but they also collect food from soft fruits or trees.

Interestingly, butterfly larvae or caterpillars have a chewing part called mandibles in their mouths, through which the larvae are able to eat solid food. Since they cannot go as far as butterflies and have to spend a great deal of time wherever they are born; Therefore, they survive by eating the leaves of the tree of birth in the early stages.

Transparent wings

The most colorful insect in nature is the butterfly. Butterfly wings painted in different colors are the source of their original beauty. These colored wings are made up of a layer of a protein called chitin, which is extremely thin. Above the wings of this chitin are thousands of fibers, where we see hundreds of butterflies painted in the art of light. When these fibers fall off with age, only the wings made of chitin remain. As you can see, these wings are very clear and easily seen from one side to the other.

However, the coating of fibers on the transparent wings made of chitin is very important for butterflies. This is because they make the wings stronger and give balance to both sides. Butterflies usually lose some fiber during mating, feeding or flying. But, it is not a problem for butterflies to fly. Since butterflies cannot make new fibers, if they lose too much fiber, it can be a serious threat to their lives.
