About human superpowers
From time to time Fairy communicated with the holy elder. She received from him the Knowledge, which he passed on to her. In one of the conversations, the Elder told her about the superpowers that lurk in every human being...
The power that embodied man on this Earth simultaneously endowed him with countless treasures - superpowers. By superpowers we mean everything that goes beyond the normal human mind: clairvoyance, hypnosis, levitation, mind reading, going out into the astral body, teleportation, and much more. All this is neither a fairy tale nor a myth, but the realities of the spiritual world. The great mystics of the past, who practiced yoga and methods of magic, knew the key to those caches where these treasures were stored. They discovered all this within themselves when they engaged in spiritual practice. What Christians call the soul, yogis call the subtle (energy) body, and it is the subtle body that is the source of all superpowers. Actually, there is not only one subtle body, but several, but we'll talk about this some other time... For now I'll give you an analogy.
Everybody knows that our physical body with some training can gain more flexibility, physical strength and endurance. Likewise, if we pay attention to our subtle bodies, they can begin to manifest unconventionally, with greater strength, but this strength will be more subtle and specific in nature.
In the meantime, the functions of our subtle bodies are limited to what we think, have feelings and emotions. In ancient times, when the human mind was not so sophisticated, people perceived the world more intuitively and looked inside themselves more often. Also, living conditions were harsh, and this developed spiritual strength, for when matter suffers, the spirit grows strong. Therefore, siddhis, i.e., superpowers, were common in those days, especially in Eastern countries, where people were more inclined to contemplation. The more often a man looks within himself, the more he thinks of the beyond which the mind cannot contain, the closer he is to his soul, to his subtle bodies, which come from the beyond spiritual world. Thin bodies as well as physical ones need food, and food of the thin bodies are spiritual impressions which a man draws from prayer, meditation, comprehension of Cosmic Laws. That is why the modern man does not know about his superpowers, because he feeds only his physical body and identifies with it. But as soon as we begin our spiritual growth, receive spiritual impressions, miraculous abilities that have been dormant in us since our birth will begin to reveal themselves.
Superpowers are closely connected with spirituality and were originally not an end in themselves, but only a consequence of the high spiritual level of the magician or yogi. In order for superpowers to awaken, it is necessary to prepare your subtle bodies, it is necessary to increase your spirituality.
So what is spirituality? All misconceptions, contradictions and mistakes on the spiritual path are due to a misunderstanding of the essence of spirituality. Today everything is called spirituality: culture, intellect, morals, church, some individual feelings, for example, kindness and mercy. But spirituality cannot be all of these things. Culture is a framework, a pattern, but spirituality is, on the contrary, the destruction of patterns; intellect is a property of the mind, but spirituality is something that lies beyond the mind; morality is the law of men, but spirituality is the Cosmic Law; church in our time is the same culture, a social institution, but spirituality cannot be conditioned by society, it is much older. Likewise, spirituality cannot be a separate feeling, it is the control of all feelings. Even if a person has some good feeling, such as kindness, and the other feelings are unknown to him, he is already a spiritually poor person, because spirituality is the fullness of everything.
Thus, spirituality is knowledge of the Cosmic Laws, a truthful unbiased vision of the world and, as a consequence, the harmonious development of man. It is especially difficult to see the world unbiasedly, because any of us sees the world only in connection with our upbringing, mind set, patterns and stereotypes. But it is not only our perception that is polluted, but also our body. This is why the Path has always begun with the practice of purification.
Each person is individual, and not even the most perfect systems can be suitable for their development. The task of everyone is to find their own unique way of creative development, taking what they can from the old and new systems.
The task of our group and teachings is to help everyone before a person has matured as an individual. He needs a common system of purification and formation. Many, having passed this stage, stop in their development. Next comes the individual path. For many it is essentially their own teaching applied to that individual in the conditions of their life.
I don't know about these super powers you mentioned in ancient man. To help others is sacred task we can do in our life.
