Let's see what's interesting today. Remember my previous Read.Cash article about the userbase reaction of the new updates? Apparently, a Filipino has decided to dupe and translate @Myt.24's post plus his other post was previously duped in a similar fashion. Thanks for @Jdine for pointing the second instance out and for @Read.Cash for immediate removal of both articles
This can bring an extremely sad conclusion that Filipinos cheat and copy stuff to make it their own to earn money. Which, if you really look, may not be true at all. This is just an extreme conclusion, not dooming other fellows Filipinos.
This brings me to my verdict on this small but very important post.
Everything that touches the internet, if it is yours and you made it yourself, has a copyright on it. Art, Music, Writing, Pictures, everything. Even your private pictures you didn't place in public.
Which means you shouldn't really repost someone's art unless you have permission, because worldwide-applicable copyright laws can bite your back. The same is true for writing. You don't see a translation of a very famous novel without the novel itself published by the same publisher as the original one (unless it's Wattpad or some fanfiction site, then it's fair use which is very complicated and it does not hold up to law sometimes).
This is why the whole SCP Foundation rallied up against someone named Andrew Duskin, who attempted to takeover SCP Russia by using a loophole to trademark the SCP logo in Russia. This is not a trademark battle, but a copyright one.
Ideally, the same can be said in blog posts.
Whatever you wrote here is exclusively yours. Nobody can copy it or its parts without permission (plagiarism), nobody should put your words to a bad light (a fair use case), and definitely nobody needs to translate a blog post without even going to the proper channels.
Help each other out, read carefully. Once you get a déjà vu on a translated post, make sure it's the (1) same author; or (2) original is referenced.
But hey. That's just my opinion, interpretation, observation.
As a message for @Myt.24, I think you should go and translate those articles yourself and post them on your article. Just kidding~ Just keep your head high, pal.
I hope to not see these problems on platform again...
