Most of the awards at the Emmy Awards, the highest honor in the world of television, go to these streaming platforms. Last year, Amy got 129 and 130 nominations from Netflix and HBO respectively. The well-known television network NBC and CBS got 72 nominations in total.
The future of television can be easily predicted by looking at the rising graph of acceptance and popularity of streaming services. Not just television, many say the future of cinema is also in streaming services. Given the declining rate of people going to the cinema, this prediction cannot be ruled out.
Who would have thought that in a few decades we would see such a radical change in the world of entertainment. You must know who started this revolution which changed the course of the age. The company is called Netflix and the person's name is Reed Hastings.
Starting with DVD
Netflix started as a DVD provider. In 1997. At that time, the only way for people to watch movies other than theater was through video tapes borrowed from shops. A technology businessman by the name of Reed Hastings then planned to sell the movie on DVD. DVD resolutions are much better than videotapes and smaller in size.

In Netflix Billboard we can get this : DON'T GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS. WE STARTED WITH DVDS.
But the problem is, at that time DVD players just started coming to the American market. One percent of people do not have a DVD player at home. Knowing it would be a risky venture, Reid took the bet. With his friend Mark Randolph, he started a DVD provider called Netflix.
Hastings reaped the benefits of his foresight very quickly. Netflix became hugely popular in the United States within a year. About 10 thousand orders a day started coming. In the blink of an eye, the company made about 5 million.
The price of DVD players began to decline at the beginning of this century. That's why Netflix's popularity and revenue continue to grow. Later, two companies named Walmart and Blockbusters entered the competition but they did not last long. Netflix continues to be the exclusive business in the DVD market.
Video on demand In 2007, in the company's tenth year, Hastings announced another visionary project. Seeing the popularity of YouTube, it comes to his mind that the internet is going to be the next medium of cinema. So he decided to launch a 'Video on Demand' website on Netflix. Customers can stream their favorite movies wherever they want. At first this website was completely free. Since it was difficult for an organization like Netflix to buy a movie copyright at that time, the condition of their collection was also miserable. It goes without saying that there were no good quality movies.
But gradually Netflix began to deal with big studios. Content from big companies like Sony, Disney, Paramount, MGM, Lionsgate is added to their website.
Netflix did not go less in the publicity sector. The company began to partner with the big brands in the world of entertainment. From Xbox, PlayStation to Apple; Nothing was left out.
Netflix was also benefiting from the exclusive business. In the three years since its inception, in 2010, Netflix has been occupying one-third of all Internet traffic in the United States during peak hours.
That same year, Netflix first set foot outside the United States. Their service reaches Canada. The following year it reached Latin America and the Caribbean. Netflix crossed the Atlantic in 2012 and reached Europe.
